Some of my best family memories are camping with my family. I feel so blessed to have been raised by parents that taught us the importance of national landmarks and nature in general. My dad made it a top priority to take us kids all over Utah and the surrounding states to see all the beautiful land marks. This year I was so happy to go camping with my entire family, minus my brother who was in california and my brother-in-law Kyle. We went up Diamond Fork campground up Spanish Fork Canyon and had a blast! My parents bring their awesome trailer that is a lifesaver because it holds all the food and some of the beds for the grandkids to sleep on. Dave and I love our tent so we decided to keep using it, even though there was room a few nights in the trailer. On more than one occasion my siblings and I talked about our old family camper that my parents had, that would sit on our truck. A few of the highlights of this camper was that it had this awesome table that had a map of the United States. We would look at the map for hours and have so much fun planning trips and finding out where we were. It also had a queen size bed that had this window that went all across the front. We would lay up in the camper while we were traveling and look outside the window and watch beautiful Utah go by, while we were singing the Beach Boys. Even thinking about it makes me smile, it was some of the best times I can remember as a child. This family camping trip we were able to make new memories. Here are some highlight pictures from the trip.
Thanks mom and dad for planning the trip! We had a lot of fun!
My nephew Gavin was Marcus's best friend!! He held him so much during the trip and didn't complain once. He even volunteered! Thanks Gaving, Marcus just adores you!
This is the only picture I got of camp :( But here we are around the campfire having fun
The best part of the campground was the nature trails. They had this awesome trail for the kids that had stops to read about wildlife and plantlife and even had sitting benches that looked like fish and spiders.
As we followed the trail it would go on to the cement and we could see bear tracks, the kids had to step on every one!
Marcus and I spent a lot of time hiking the trails with the family, we love our carrier and Marcus loves to be out in nature!
My cute nieces
One of the best things about trips with my extended family is seeing my nieces and nephews. When Gavin, my first nephew, was born I spent so much time with him because I was young and single. Then as I got more nieces and nephews I couldn't spend as much time with them so it was fun to play with them and watch them be creative together. At one point they did a play for us that was so cute and hilarious!
Dave found out our headlamp fit Marcus
This picture sums up how the trip ended. Marcus was a dream every night while we were camping except the last night. Then he started teething and we couldn't get him to sleep or stop crying. Dave and I got about 3 hours of sleep as we drove around with him, rocked him, gave him tylenol, etc. Dave finally ended up sleeping in the car with him while he let me sleep a little bit in the tent, thanks sweetie. Poor Marcus cut a tooth that next week, not a fun place to be teething when you are not in your own home or crib :(
My sister Tresa did this awesome idea of putting glow sticks in cups with sprite, it was fun for the kids
More hiking
