A Post about my travels

I know.... Its been a long time!  Blogging is a little meh lately but I thought I would share what is happening from last month or so.  As many of you may know I got to go on Two trips to Europe in Oct.  We have a client, SuccessFactors, and they had us come to the HR Tech conferences in Paris, Chicago, and Amsterdam to provide an HR Confessions Video booth.  I got home from my Amsterdam trip yesterday.  I flew in on the 23rd and we (Joe Cook and I) spent some time in Holland just catching up... We both served our missions there and were companions on two separate occasions.  He is now part of onomonoMEDIA and will be our Director of UK and European operations with which I am ECSTATIC about.  Here are a few photos from our Holland part of the trip.

Kinderdijk close to Rotterdam where we got an overnight ferry to get back to the UK.
More Kinderdijk... gotta get some foliage in there.
 Kinderdijk
Hands down the Best Takeout food ever made.  It is a fusion of Indonesian and Chinese. It is so so good.  We used to get this for Zone conference meals that were in Rotterdam and we went to the same place... Very nostalgic.
Delft. Quintessential Dutch town.  Famous for its pottery.. Delft Blue.
Trippy architecture in Rotterdam.  People live in those!!

We didn't actually get much time in Holland to visit because we were working for three of the 5 days and the other days were travel days but it was wonderful to feel the feelings I had for that wonderful country and its amazing people.

Once the Conference was over we took an overnight ferry to go back to the UK.  On sunday night I got an email from United Airlines that my flight for Monday morning was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy. I received another email from UA saying that it was rescheduled for Friday!   Although I got to spend more time in Europe and see new places and spend time with one of my dearest friends in the world I wanted to see my girls and wife and worried about them being alone in a potentially dangerous storm... All was well- They didn't lose power or anything.  The Derecho we encountered earlier in the summer was much worse for us than sandy was.  Since I had an extra 5 days in the UK we got a ton of work done and our UK operations are completely up and running and ready to roll!  I am very excited about this expansion as it has endless potential.  In addition to work, we saw some things!  Joe lives in Chorely, which is where the Preston Temple is.  Quintessential North England town with tons of charm... but terrible weather!    Because its in the north I was able to go on a Church history tour.  Here are some pics.

Avenham Park and Ribble River where the first baptisms in England occurred.

Preston Lodgings- Where the infamous satanic attacks occurred the day before the first baptisms. see more about this here
In Downham!  This is the little town that was completely converted when Heber C Kimball was there.

15 Wadham Road- This is the very apartment that Gordon B Hinckley got the letter from his father saying "forget yourself and go to work" at statement that changed his life forever.

It was very cool to see these places!  It gave me an opportunity to reflect on the gospel in my life and again realize how blessed we are to have it in our life.

I am home now.. and glad to be with my little girls and my amazing wife.
