The Nursery

As promised here are some pics of the nursery. I decided to use pink, brown and green. There are a few finishing touches to be added but here it is so far. I think it turned out pretty cute, what do you think?

Yes, the chair takes up half of the room but is by far the most comfortable chair in the world. I stole it from Dave it has been his favorite study chair. He asked me if it's ok if he studies in the nursery now when she is sleeping so he can watch her while he studies (he is going to be the cutest Daddy!!!)

Well I guess know you all know what she will be named. Although most of you already knew since we've been calling her Hailey since the day we found out she was a girl. That's right she is going to be Hailey Jean DeMill. Jean is both mine and my Mom's middle name so I thought I would pass it on for another generation.

I still want to add something more to decorate her magnet board but I have yet to be inspired so for now it is just basic pink. If anyone has and clever ideas let me know.
Her hair accessory board. Every girl needs one right? I can't wait to fill it all up but I think she had a pretty good start!

These hanging "poms" turned out to be one of my favorite things. I think they add a lot of personality to her little room. Dave mocked them when I first showed them to him but now even he likes them. He says they are very "frilly & girlie" which is what I wanted!

Well there it is... ready and waiting for little Hailey girl to come!

5 Days!!!

So I went to the Doctor today and everything looks great! Baby girl is strong and healthy and has been passing her non-stress tests with flying colors. I am scheduled to be induced Saturday morning unless she decides to come before then which my Doc said very well could happen. It is a busy week at the hospital so I was glad to get an induction time, even if it is the end of the week. I am actually really excited that Saturday is the day because not only does Dave not have to worry about missing school but since its Conference I will have something to watch while I am going through the induction/labor process. What could be more calming than watching conference right? Plus now I have the rest of the week to get some last minute things done (nursery pics coming soon I promise) I can't believe that in 5 days I will finally get to hold our baby girl... I can't wait!!!

The ever-growing belly

The other day I was at the gym and I got a glimpse of my belly from the side in the mirror and couldn't believe how big it has gotten!!! I swear it has doubled in size the past few weeks! I figured what better way to show you the belly in all it's glory than in my spandex workout clothes so I had Dave snap some pics when I got home. Dave says I am "finally big enough". My whole pregnancy he has been telling me that I was too small and he wanted me to get bigger. For some reason he loves seeing me all big and awkward silly boy! I think it's just so he can laugh at me trying to get out of bed or pick things up off the floor etc. I keep telling him to enjoy it now cause in less than 2 weeks the belly will be gone and baby girl will be here...

Now that's what I call one big belly!!!

Baby Shower Mania!

This week was a very exciting week full of baby showers. I had 3 showers 3 days in a row!!! One with the Larsons, one with the Jacksons and one at work (which I didn't take pics of..oops) I feel so lucky to have so many amazing people in my life that are so good to me. You are all seriously too gracious! This baby is already one spoiled little girl!

LARSON SHOWER:
Dave's Aunt Lori hosted the Larson shower on Tuesday night. She was nice enough to invite the Miller gals as well. It was so fun for me to have both my families there! It was a great time. Eric even hosted a "price is right" game which was a blast!

The Miller gals (minus Alli who lives in Colorado...we love you and miss you!!!)

Isn't baby girl so lucky to have such a beautiful Mom? ha ha. I apparently can't make any other funny face than this one!

JACKSON SHOWER
On Wednesday my sweet Aunt Sue threw a double baby shower for me and my cousin Rosie who is due with a girl the same week as me. I am thrilled that our daughters will be the same age! It was a great night with the Jackson ladies. Sue even had a cute craft where people made handmade Thank You cards for us to send out. Such a great idea!

The Mommies to-be

My cousin Becky's little girl Eliza was my little helper. She helped open all my gifts and showed them to everyone. She was so excited it was adorable!

My mom made us both darling blankets (isn't it so cute?!?!) . Michael became rather attached to it. He played with it all night. At least he is playing with a car to counteract the pink blanket right?

Thanks to everyone who came to all the showers. I appreciate you all more than you'll ever know!

Baby Pool

My family has started the tradition of doing a baby pool with each new addition to the Miller clan. Everyone guesses the date, weight and the name of the baby. Since we already have a name picked out we left that off the pool. If you think that they are all being mean by guessing her weight they're not. We already know she is pretty big, plus us Millers don't have small babies. That's what happens when a family of tall girls all marry tall men right? Although I did threaten them that if anyone guessed over 10 lbs they would not be my friend anymore. Here are the guesses.

Dave W.- September 26th... 9 lbs 3 oz
Dave D.- September 27th... 8lbs 7oz
Alli- September 28th... 8lbs 8 oz
Lisa- September 30th... 9 lbs
Paul- October 1st... 8 lbs 15 oz
C.J.- October 2nd... 8 lbs 9 oz
Brooke- October 2nd... 8 lbs 7 oz
Andrea- October 3rd... 8lbs
Johnn- October 4th... 8 lbs 4 oz
Monica- October 5th... 9 lbs 5 oz
Mom- October 6th... 9 lbs 2 oz
Dad- October 7th... 8 lbs 11 oz

If anyone else wants to take a guess go ahead!!! (Just a hint they are now planning on inducing me sometime the week of Sept 28th)

Maternity leave

I just wanted to let all my clients know that I am starting my maternity leave from the salon in about 2 weeks so if you need your hair done before then please call and schedule an appointment ASAP. I am planning on returning to work sometime towards the end of November. If any of you end up needing your hair done while I am on leave let me know and I will refer you to someone else at the salon. Thanks!!!

Almost Time!!!

So I went to the Doctor yesterday to check how our little angel is doing. She is measuring big still (yikes for me...ouch) but other than that everything is fine. I bet you're all wondering why she is measuring big and why they moved up my due date. Well, as a lot of you know I have developed Diabetes with this pregnancy. Right now they are not sure if it is Gestational or Type 1 because it has not behaved like normal gestational cases and my family has a history of Type 1. We are praying that it's only gestational which would mean it would go away after I give birth whereas Type 1 would be a permanent thing. We won't know for sure until after she is born. I haven't blogged about it yet but I figure enough people know about it by now so why not. It has definitely been a challenge for me but there are many worse things that could happen and I have had a lot of support from my friends and family, especially my amazing husband. He has seriously been incredible! To treat it I have been following a very low carb diet (pretty much atkins) and taking pills and insulin shots to keep my sugars down. My body has been a little slow to respond to treatment which is not a good sign but I am still keeping my fingers crossed that it will go away. If it doesn't I know it is just a trial that I am meant to face and I know my Heavenly Father will help me through it.

Anyways, enough sappiness from me. The most important thing is our baby girl... the doc said if she doesn't come before the first week of October they will most likely induce me that week which means only 3 & 1/2 weeks max until we get to meet her!!! yay! They have upped me to two non-stress tests a week as well as my weekly check-up with the doc so I will pretty much be living at the hospital the next few weeks. A little tricky since I am still working almost full-time but luckily my job is pretty flexible. I think the non-stress tests are actually fun because I get to see her on ultrasound everytime. I definitely wont complain about getting to see her 2 times a week! Dave has been a little jealous that I get to see her so often and he doesn't. I told him thats my reward for carrying her for 9 months. That's the least I get right?!?! I am getting so excited but a little scared at the same time now that we are in the home stretch. I just want to get her here safe and sound. I will keep you all updated on her progress, whether you want to know or not I guess...

World Cup Qualifier

With only about month until the arrival of our little one we are really trying to squeeze in date nights whenever Dave can sneak away from studying. Saturday night we were lucky enough to go see the USA mens soccer World Cup Qualifier game against El Salvador with my parents and Lisa & Dave. It was such a great game! The crowd was intense and the soccer was the best I have ever seen. It was very close the whole time but USA ended up winning 2-1, go USA! After the game we went out for a nice dinner. Thanks Mom and Dad for the fun date night.
