330. want to win? think beautiful.

the hp ndp shirt design simply looks pathetic.

why is the hp logo protruding out of these designs?
ok lets start with the left: purposely putting the h and p in blue to highlight hp is simply lame. "progress towards our dreams" is also a cheapskate slogan that sucks like no other. cutting out the singapore flag in the shape of a circle is simply ugly, and has no significance other than to show the designer's disability to think of more creative designs.
as for the one on the right: wavy words is NOT in vogue. this is 2010, not the 1990s when you first started using word art on microsoft words.


what in the words is that creature? is it meant to be a cute merlion on a magic flying carpet? it seems like this designer has taken part in the yog mascot design competition but failed, and so incorporated something so stupid into his ndp shirt design. and whats with the 2 random stars on the sleeve? but i would name it "mehliar".


the red man is pathetically pentooled. it looks more like a silouhette of an android than a human. i cant see the mini words imprinted on the man, but common sense says that its some gibberish the designer invented himself. the font is also so damn ugly, especially when it is placed on the sleeve. i know the person is trying to show that he knows "our" is present in both lines of the slogan. but at least make the word bigger, and not small until it seems to be the mouth of the android.

this designer submitted 18 copies of a few similar designs, in different color. even if the name isnt shown, you can tell that the designer is a girl, since girls like to buy the same things in many different colors. shown above is only 8 main designs. she obviously thinks singapore is some candyland, cause she has to make it as sweet and colorful as powerpuff girls. the shape of singapore also looks very awkward. it looks more like chicken breast meat.


i think this designer watched too much winx club, and her favourite fairy must be flora. oh wait, those green thingies at the top are fireworks? well who would have known. cheap singapore souvenir shirt sold in bugis? probably. ndp shirt? no way.


4 balls. wow. nothing to do with the slogan, nothing to do with ndp.


not too much problem with this shirt. but the left sleeve is simply ugly. no one puts a square shape logo of another color behind a background of another color, other than in powerpoint.


the background looks so familiar. other than the stars, all i can say is one word, irrelephant (irrelevant). also available in blue color to make it even more irrelephant.


wow not bad, the shooting stars at the background quite nice, and the words also... turns out its the freaking logo of ndp 2010. putting the merlion head doesnt make it any nicer. it just seems like the shooting stars are crushing into the merlion head. unoriginal. even easier than me copy and pasting from wikipedia.

left shirt: ugly font and simply no use in extending the lines out of the words.
right shirt: ugly ugly ugly drawing. especially the ir, it looks more like a rotating fan blade. the colors are absolutely horrible too. the singapore flyer is yellow? the ir is blue? and whats with the mrt flying out of the hp logo like its the magic school bus flying out of some portal? i miss the magic school bus though. in conclusion, any kindergarten kid can draw an ir better than that.


there are 9 clouds, is it what i think it is? its so colourful and full of stars that i think this is more suited to be a kids exercise book to identify colors and count the number of stars there are.


this is the ugliest shirt design i have ever ever seen. looks like its either done in microsoft word or paint. why is the cresent so disproportionate? why are the pictures so pathetically snapped and place in a horrible order that the designer thinks will look cool? and most of all, the one i hate most is, why in the world is comic sans font used???? and besides the words shouldnt be perpendicular to the sleeves. also, it's "fly our flag", not "fly our flags". ultra fail shirt design.


i think this is more like a soccer shirt than ndp shirt. it simply looks weird. and look at the back design (the smaller shirt), can you spot a smiley face? i think you can because it looks too disgusting. yes i know you can form a smiley face with two stars and the cresent. but this is too lame, dont you think?


seriously, such a plain shirt for national day? win cash prizes simply by putting 3 logos on the shirt? it may work for a coporate outfit, but definetely not for ndp. want to win? think beautiful (想得美).

329. lament

i wonder if i will ever find the motivation to study chem and econs just in time to pass my promos. with promos being less than 3 months away, the lecturers should be starting to rush the many topics they havent taught yet. will i drift further and further away from the syllabus, cause i already feel lost at reaction kinetics. whenever i see the chem notes, i dont even feel like opening it. it sucks so much. why is it after so many years they dont know whats the appropriate pace? why is it their lecture notes suck so much? why is it they cant teach? didnt nie teach them to how to? why is it they cant teach us to understand, instead of printing thick lectures notes and expect us to read through and memorise how to do.

the most critically acclaimed album of the first half of 2010 is a sensual, funky record that has an unexplainable comfort to it. is it because of the tune or the voice, or both, i don't know. put together some jazz, guitar, violin, soothing singing, crazy title and elegant album cover and it probably constitutes the best album of her life. looks like listening to erykah badu wont sound like such a boring option anymore.

the scissor sisters' delightful album brings in the 70s disco sound, the gay sound of bee gees. lead single, fire with fire, sounds similar to the killers' human. but not to blame them for it, because stuart price is the producer of this album, and the killers' day & age album. most songs on this album just compels me to give it a 5. iamamiwhoami can certainly use some help from stuart price to make her songs more lively. get into the 70s groove with this album. i love it!
