310. bye noughties

bye noughties, you've been a great decade, but i'm sure the next few will keep gettin' better.

in the noughties, i went to primary school, i graduated from high school, i made lots of friends, i found a support in music and madonna, and i'm very thankful for that.

but also in the noughties, there has been countless terror attacks: 911, bali, madrid train, indian hotel, london subway, numerous indonesian hotels bombings, and the most recent failed airplane bombing etc.
and not to forget countless natural disasters: 2004 indian ocean tsunami, hurricane katrina, sichuan earthquake etc.
these made the noughties very naughty.

so i hope that the next decade would make the world a better place. a financial turmoil in around 2017 - 2019 is inevitable since something like that happens every 10 years, so i just hope that there would be fewer terror attacks and natural disasters so that we don't have to be scared everytime we fly to usa, or have to donate everytime a natural disaster happens since we already gave a lot to the numerous blood sucking donation shows on tv.

but maybe the most important thing now is that we can survive 2012 peacefully. so may solar activity maintain at a stable level. let me say a thank you in advance to the god of sun. i wonder if hou yi never shot down the extra suns, how terribly we would have died when solar activity increased.

good luck to everyone in the next decade. hope that we would still remember to stay in contact even if we won't be studying together after 2011 anymore. i shant say anymore or it would seem like some farewell speech. have fun counting down!

309. to infinity and beyonce

hi guys, i will be gone for the next few days so don't bother contacting me or file a missing report to the police. i probably will be back in time for new year day. bye guys.

and stupid okto, cancelled arthur from the 5.30 slot.

not only that, madonna has been named the most famous celebrity of this decade after being mentioned 45633 times on britain's national newspapers this decade. her nearest rival, robbie williams, is mentioned about 18000 less than her.
and i thought britney would be the first.

1. Madonna 45,633
2. Robbie Williams 27,976
3. Britney Spears 27,910
4. Brand Beckham (Posh and Becks) 26,561
5. Kate Moss 26,494
6. Victoria Beckham 25,204
7. David Beckham 24,631
8. Michael Jackson 22,426
9. Simon Cowell 22,263
10. Sir Paul McCartney 20,347

how does someone get mentioned an average of 12.5 times a day in only britain newspapers? what kind of news machine is she?

308. stronger with each tear

i'm bored to tears up till now for the holidays. something interesting should happen on the net. used to be i won't be interested in hip hop albums, but now i've ran out of interesting new albums to listen to, so i had to listen to mary j. blige's new album, stronger with each tear, due to be released 21 dec 2009.

Album Review 94: Mary J. Blige – Stronger With Each Tear

1. Tonight – 4/5
2. The One – 4.5/5
3. Said And Done – 3.5/5
4. Good Love – 3.5/5
5. I Feel Good – 4.5/5
6. I Am – 4.5/5
7. Each Tear – 4.5/5
8. I Love U (Yes I Du) – 4.5/5
9. We Got Hood Love – 3.5/5
10. Kitchen – 3/5
11. In The Morning – 3/5
12. Color – 2.5/5

Mary J. Blige – Stronger With Each Tear:
45.5/12 = 3.79

i like her only billboard hot 100 no.1 hit, family affair. that song was sort of quite cool. and then i listened to the album. quite similar. so i was just feeling quite normal about this album, nothing special, nothing laudable. if you're not a fan of hip hop or r&b, listening to the queen of hip hop soul's album would be a slight chore because this album doesn't have obnoxious sounds or emotional rollercoasters.

307. ke$ha'$ animal

since tik tok is near the top of hot 100, i decided to review ke$ha's debut album, due to be released 5 jan 2010.

Album Review 93: Ke$ha – Animal

1. Your Love Is My Drug – 4/5
2. TiK ToK – 5/5
3. Take It Off – 4.5/5
4. Kiss N Tell – 4/5
5. Stephen – 3/5
6. Blah Blah Blah – 3/5
7. Hungover – 4.5/5
8. Party At A Rich Dude’s House – 3.5/5
9. Backstabber – 3.5/5
10. Blind – 4/5
11. Dinosaur – 2.5/5
12. Dancing With Tears In My Eyes – 3/5
13. Boots & Boys – 4/5
14. Animal – 3.5/5

Ke$ha – Animal:
52/14 = 3.71

the world is filled with more and more electropop junkie, and ke$ha is one example. she sings to easily findable electropop sounds and stupid lyrics that she claims she wrote while she was drunk. no wonder most of it is about partying till the end of time. nevertheless, it's still fine for electropop and when this is released, she's gonna be called the princess of pop (like britney, christina, lady gaga, rihanna, kylie, beyonce, shakira etc.), which basically means that you're a female singer doing pop. this title has lost it's meaning.

306. mariah carey has great editting team

mariah carey's h.a.t.e.u. (such a difficult to type out name) video has just been released. and as usual, her face is pretty even without makeup, but her figure, well in this video it's great because of editting, but in the pictures taken, certainly not.

towards the middle, she gets more and more slim, and getting to the slimmest when she's in the white dress. you can virtually see her s-shape figure. yes, you can virtually see it, because it's not real. let's look at the pictures taken on the scene of video.

i downsized both the width and the height by twice, so don't claim i made it unproportionate. you can click to enlarge it anyway.

look at her figure, it's more of ∫-shape figure than s-shape. but the main focus, i think should be her enormous thighs. i mean look at it, it's can serve as a nut-cracker, or rather, coconut-cracker. you can also sort of see her tummy rolls.

another picture:

here's a last one:

all hail the mariah carey video editting team!

304. the element of freedom

after 2 days of searching for this album, i found the one and only link to this album, thus far. luckily it didn't disappoint me because it's a great album.

Album Review 90: Alicia Keys – The Element Of Freedom

1. Element Of Freedom (Intro) - not judged
2. Love Is Blind – 3/5
3. Doesn’t Mean Anything – 4.5/5
4. Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart – 5/5
5. Wait Til You See My Smile – 4/5
6. That’s How Strong My Love Is – 4/5
7. Un-thinkable (I’m Ready) – 3.5/5
8. Love Is My Disease – 4.5/5
9. Like The Sea – 4/5
10. Put It In A Love Song – 4.5/5
11. This Bed – 5/5
12. Distance And Time – 4/5
13. How It Feels To Fly – 4.5/5
14. Empire State Of Mind (Part II) Broken Down – 5/5

Alicia Keys – The Element Of Freedom:
55.5/13 = 4.27

she used more instruments than in her previous "as i am" album, which was quite boring (i gave it 3.21). she sang with adequate emotions and power in this album and it was precise. "try sleeping with a broken heart" is probably the best r&b song i have heard in so long. i would say it's as good as, or maybe even better than her previous megahit "no one". and i was also glad that she made a part ii for "empire state of mind". i liked empire state of mind because i liked the melody and how she sang in it, and not much of jay-z's rapping. so a song which has only her powerful singing with the melodious tune is definetely a 5/5 for me. and not to mention, the collaboration with beyonce on "put it in a love song" has that "single ladies" vibe to it. i sure hope she will do very well on billboard with her singles and album because this is hit material.

303. top 10 nonsense of the year

i have compiled my top 10 nonsense of the year.

top 10 nonsense of the year

1. miley cyrus
seriously, miley cyrus is becoming a hooker. not even kids like hannah montana now. they buy hannah montana pencils so that they can laugh maniacally while her face is being sharpened off. but you probably can still earn some money selling ice cream by pole dancing on an ice cream truck like you do in teen choice awards.

2. twilight
what's twilight? twilight is the movie starring cedric diggory from "harry potter", sharkboy from "the adventures of sharkboy and lava girl" and a girl who falls in love with a vampire. why doesn't she fall in love with a zombie instead? they march way nicer than edward cullen.

3. kanye west interrupts taylor swift
kanye west: "now i'm gonna let you finish your list, but i gotta say that i am the top nonsense of all time, and not only this year."

4. jonas brothers
still fantasizing on a threesome? good luck then. kevin jonas is getting married, nick jonas is miley cyrus's used junk in her lovegame, and joe jonas was with taylor swift. don't worry, the jonases won't die so quickly because they have a 9 year old brother frankie jonas. you jonas fanatics can relive your fantasy once he reached teenage.

5. stupid jon divorces kate
jon gosselin's a jerk. read up if you don't know what's happening, its quite complex to explain here.

6. chris brown
violent mofo. how can you hit your dear riri. and your newest album is called graffiti? well you didn't commit vandalism crime now did you? you committed assault. your album name should have been "i punched the shit out of my gf so beware".

7. balloon boy hoax
world's coolest parents? no. world's most retarded parents? yes. world's greatest advertisement for a show? not in their life.

8. couple intrudes white house
mr and mrs salahi are the world's greatest top secret spies, being able to escape one of the tightest securities in the world and shake hands with obama, not only at the recent india prime minister dinner at white house, but also at obama's inaugaration ceremony. cool dudes.

9. michael jackson's dad
your son is one of the most famous superstar of all time. he died recently, so what do you do? a) fight for his fortune b) use this opportunity to advertise your new recording project c) have a share in all michael jackson related money-making expenditure d) all of the above
michael's dad answer? d, of course!

10. octomom
you have no money, divorced and are living on state benefits, so you give birth to six kids from 2001 to 2006, and then in 2009 give birth to octuplets, all via in vitro fertilisation.

302. a literary insight to keith's post

A literary insight to Keith's post by Shawn Ng ft. Me.
(The more mean parts are obviously by Shawn)

From the 21 November 2009 post, "looks back with a smile"

"Commencement dinner, it was there for us to experience. Words alone fail to suffice, such intense emotions are not describable in black and white alone."

Intense emotions? What emotions? I didn't feel any, why would you feel them. Tell me you aren't into the wishy washy cheesy "friendship motifs" the dinner was trying to promote.

______________
"Describing the events of the dinner, that is what anyone in the mood would be posting about now. I do not want this post to be a mere repetition of what has been mentioned by others, that would be meaningless. However, I must add that I do not recall ever feeling this way about HCI before, and I'm glad that we parted the High School in such high spirits."

Why would you be in high spirits because the event, it doesn't make sense. Is it because you spent some time with friends and believed nonsense about how passing Year 4 was "important" and a "huge milestone"? Milestone yes, it's not huge, neither is it particularly important if you're going to (censored).

______________
"I can't imagine how Liki managed to conjure up that emotional speech of his, but if you sit down and think about it, everything he said in his closing speech was entirely in frank honesty.

Was it even emotional? Perhaps if you excessively think between the lines and mislead yourself.

_______________
"These 4 years have undoubtedly been difficult to say the least, but the fact that everyone has passed through to HCJC is heartwarming. That, I feel, is more than enough."

Is that a line from One Piece? It's filled with melodrama. Did you really (pretentiously) care about everyone and found it a relief?

_______________
"Sometimes in such situations, we are more able to look back on our history. And that I feel is actually of utmost importance."

I don't think you want to look back at yours, and even if you do, you would be looking back at your literature.

_______________
"It is human nature to neglect the small issues in life when focusing on what is ahead of them, most of the times we fail to notice what is most obvious and what is around us."

There are a lot of meticulous people around us.

_______________
"This commencement dinner has had a great impact on my life, as I am sure my readers from HCI will likewise feel."

That's because I rarely dress up like that and eat at a big hotel.

________________
"When we mix around with the people around us, share the laughter, the joy, embracing the moment with open arms. That’s something we should always cherish."

You shared your knowledge, or rather, unknowledge with us.

________________
"It is not common to find ourselves in situations as such, but what we do with those situations, that is most vital. If we do not treat treasure what we have, then I don’t think we can say much of ourselves can we? We’ll just be hollow skeletons basking in darkness."

I don't understand the link between treasuring what we have, hollow skeletons, and basking in darkness. Is it some cheesy lines from the lastest Twilight movie?

________________
"Last night was the night of our lives. I hope to maintain it as such, and perhaps emulate more of these occasions in the years to come."

You are probably the only one who does not want to future to be more exciting. Sounds sadistic.

________________
"Times like these are what make the world a better place to live in. Grasp them, and never let go."

Freedom comes when you learn to let go, creation comes when you learn to say no. There's no greater power than the power of goodbye. So you must learn to say goodbye, and not grasp them and never gonna give'em up. Some things are better kept as memories.
