i think that regarding the issue of ankle socks, 3cm above the ankles is enough. i don't really endorse the idea of socks 6cm above the ankles, it's too high and dorky. whereas i also see now purpose in wearing ankle socks, it's not cool at all. socks being 3cm above ankles should be ideal enough for me.
and the break room thing is probably the most useless of all. there will be couches, vending machines, speakers and computers to use. and some people even suggested printers and photocopiers.
for couches, you might as well sit in class. why walk to the break just to sit on a couch. if you purposely do that then you are not a couch potato but a couch idiot.
vending machines? they must be joking. i would rather go down to the canteen where there's vending machines AND food.
speakers and computers. isn't it the same in class.
printers and photocopiers. please, go to the photocopying shop or library.
so there's no use of the break room at all. it's a waste of our money and resources.
Space Elevatorever heard about the space elevator long time ago. it will never be a success. flying to new york from singapore is about 16600km long and it took 18h. the space elevator is 35790km long and it will take about 40h to reach the top. this is madness. they might as well build the elevator as a house. going up and coming down, without staying on top will take about 90h, because there's pressure as you ascend and descend, so that elevator can't go that fast. plus the time you stay on top, the whole trip takes 5 days. and if someone has a heart attack or so up in the sky, he would most likely die because it takes about 40h or so to come down. so this is totally impractical. scientists shouldn't waste time on this.

my favourite inventionsas i was saying scientists shouldn't waste time on this. they should invent something useful for the society. and here comes my top list of favourite inventions.
1) plasticit's wonderful. now lots of things are made of plastic. water bottles, containers plastic bags etc. they are durable, strong, flexible and can be transparent. really my favourite invention although it causes pollution.
2) world wide webwith the www, i can connect to the outside world even from the inside. lots of things can be found on the web now. email here, email there. and blogging now. therefore it's another wonderful invention.
3) computermicrosoft, macromedia, adobe, apple etc. wonderful programs that could be used on computers. no longer have poor handwriting by typing out. and yes some people will love playing games in it. but what's best is it's multi-function. music, tv, videos, pictures, homework and lots more. kudos to the inventor of computer.
4) vehiclesno longer do we need to walk long distance to get to europe, just like how our ancestors walk around the world from africa. and of course almost everyone's favourite f1 race. thank you ford.
5) lightingsedison did light up the world. i can't imagine having the moonlight and fire as the only source of light at night. oh ya, sheng hong, it's thomas edison who invented the light bulb, not albert einstein.

i wonder why miss tan has to change her handphone accessories every now and then. there's a crumpler pouch, lots of plushies, nothingness, and now a mickey mouse chain. i only had 3 since sec 1, a small bear, a kiwi bird (unfortunately the string broke), and now the strike gundam.

cross country today is really great... well, not exactly. but the distance is greatly decreased from 4.3km to 2.4km. yay, all because of the morning rain. come to think of it, it only started raining last afternoon after a few weeks of dryness. all hail the gods. chem practical been postponed to tomorrow due to jason wong's disapproval. should i be happy about that?

74. the gay theory
i have written out my own gay theory. it's simple.
Gay properties in gays are shown when there is a presence of males, just like acidic properties being shown in acid when there is a presence of water.wonderful isn't it.
anyway, there was a fire drill yesterday while we were at ihe. everyone was strolling towards the field. the most encouraging phrase being said by the teacher was "we will try it again." and im so looking forward to that being in the middle of a boring double period lesson.
valentine's day yesterday, but what's so nice about it to celebrate about? just giving flowers here and there. as useless as giving mandarin oranges during chinese new year. what's the use of giving madarin oranges to the other person when the other person is going to give you back the same thing, and maybe one that's rotting underneath the skin.
ren ri (human day?) was the day before yesterday, and there doesn't seem to be any significance about it. we don't receive birthday gifts anyway.
mariah carey's album will be called "e=mc^2" and released internationally on 11 april 2008. what a name. the previous name, "that chick" sounds sexier and nicer. but i think that the "mc" in e=mc^2" is supposed to stand for mariah carey.
hah, madonna's next album will come out 2 weeks after mariah's and it will be another interesting battle after the 2005 madonna's "confessions on a dance floor" vs mariah's "the emancipation of mimi", and this time both release dates are close to each other.
lastly, i simply must comment on ching hun's use of twit and chat-speak language which i should refer to as chat-twit. this sort of language is totally disgusting, not readable, and lame, try-to-act-cool-when-not-cool-at-all stunt. i couldn't type out what he's written because it's too long and only empty brained people like him bother to remember the exact number of alphabets in each long word. who could decipher it. only some other chat-twit speaking person could. but i certainly couldn't. because i support people to type out their damn words correctly.
sometimes even in certain sms, i had to take extra time to decipher the message just because of the excessive use of long and unnecessary sms languages. why type "guai lan" when you could type "guai" or "strange" when it's shorter and more proper. and why type "love" as "lurb" in "i lurb u" when "lurb" and "love" has the same number of letters. these strange creatures known as punks are just too odd. and also, just how many ways of laughing are there? "lol", "lmao", "rofl". "lol": well it's ok. "lmao": will your ass really drop off by laughing? i would like to see those "lmao" users try. "rofl": as if something was really so funny that you had to laugh an roll about on the floor like a pig in the mud. something more acceptable that could be invented should be "ltic", which could mean "laugh till i cry". this seems more acceptable than "rofl" and "lmao".lalala, bye.

during this lunar new year, i have decided to go red in a bid to support annie lennox's "sing" programme (no, not for lunar new year) to help the hiv / aids positive patients.
"sing" is a collaboration of 23 female artists including dido, celine dion, fergie, madonna, shakira and many more. annie lennox said this song is about raising money and awareness for the hiv / aids patients.
