Someone Is A Year Older Today

happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to Christina, happy birthday to you! thats right, its Christina's birthday today and we just went to her house one hour ago to surprise her or I thought so we did because she was not surprised. She was surprised though that I was outside her house when I called her because she was thinking what was I doing outside her house so late.

After sometime, the rest of the people who came (Jing Ee, Rungano, Fenny, Kiew and my brother David) came out with the birthday cake and wished her happy birthday! She was not surprised though, I think she expected it or something. Anyways, she was happy that we all came to celebrate her birthday with her. Happy birthday again girl, one year older already means one year wiser as well. I took a number of photos which would be displayed below.

Had a job interview yesterday morning at 10. Its basically an assistant accountant position at this kids clothing company where the job is to prepare BAS statements, do monthly financial reports and also help the sales and marketing team. Had an interview with Ken who is the husband of the boss who wants to hire someone to do the accounts for her business. Very nice guy, had a good chat with him surprisingly because he did not ask me all those formal questions that you would be asked when you go for an interview.

The past 2 interviews that I went for are also like that which is good because i don't have to worry so much about preparation then. Have another job interview with the boss herself this Wednesday at 10am. Hope all goes well and I would get the job, at least i have 2 jobs then. Can earn more money and gain more experience as well.

Enjoy the photos!

Dim Sum At Emperor's Court Chinese Restaurant

dim sum, yummy dim sum. I heard that Emperor's Court suppose to be the best Chinese restaurant in Perth because it won quite a number of awards and has been around in Perth since 1978. that's like 29 years now man, amazing stuff! Went for dim sum in the afternoon last Saturday. Well, honestly speaking the dim sum was alright, to me its not to say that its fantastic fantastic but also not to say that its terrible that you should not go there to have your dim sum. Its not too bad.

However, the dim sum there is pricey. My sister, Kenny, my brother and me had around 21 plates and the total bill came up to 104 dollars. that is super ex man, if divided among 4 people, each person would have to come out with 26 dollars. Wow, that is a lot of money! I guess one of the differences that they have compared to other Chinese restaurants that I have been to is their duck dish. They serve duck for dim sum which I do not really get at other Chinese restaurants. Their custard buns are nice as well, I loved them.

Happy Birthday Pia

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to Pia, happy birthday to you! wow, Pia's birthday was actually yesterday and we surprised her at her house on Friday midnight. She was very surprise indeed. I came in through the back door and into the kitchen where she was having a word or two with Gagan and then suddenly she heard people singing Happy Birthday and she quickly fell to the floor covering her face, couldn't believe what was really happening.

She was alright after a while but the expression on her face says it all, she was surprised, very surprised! She also got fooled by Charlyn because she told Pia that there was a big birthday present waiting for her outside her house. Me, Kenny and Felix followed her outside and we started throwing flour onto her. The pictures that you see above tells it all, she just looks so much whiter in colour with flour all around her shirt and hair.

Pia is just an amazing girl, very friendly, very bubbly, very loving and caring towards other people and she has just such an incredible heart which is what I admire about her the most. Keep it up girl, you are definitely an inspiration to the people out there not only in Australia but to the world as well.

Below are the photos i took during the surprise at her house. Notice the last photo where Zee and Fenny are blowing bubbles at each other and trying to avoid one another, I found it rather amusing. Enjoy!

Fish and Chips At Joe's Fish Shack

Fish and chips? yes i have been in Perth for 3 years now and I always go to Ciserellos and Kailis to eat Fish & Chips but somehow i never tried Joe's Fish Shack. I heard about it, heard the food was pretty good and that it won several awards. Therefore I decided to give it a try today. No wait a minute, actually it was my younger sister who wanted to give it a try so we all went there to have lunch. We ordered a seafood chowder, 4 pieces of bread and a large battered fish and chips. Guess how much the bill came up too? 41 dollars! gosh that is super expensive man.

The food portion was also not that big, Ciserellos and Kailis definitely give more chips and the quality of food was only about average. Well to me I still prefer Kailis because its much cheaper and better value for money. I went to Garden City with my younger brother and sister after lunch and bought a birthday cake and card for Pia because it is her birthday tomorrow.

Going to her house in another 10 minutes time to surprise her. I can't wait man, I can't wait because a group of us who are close to her will be going to her house to surprise her. I want to see the look on her face, its just going to be so much fun! ciao!

Gelare and Harry Potter Movie On A Tuesday Evening

On a lovely Tuesday evening, there I was watching one of the most disappointing movies that I have watched so far this year. I felt the Harry Potter movie did not live up to expectations and there was just too much talking in the movie. There should have been more action and drama which was what I liked in the first 2 Harry Potter movies but somehow this one just did not live up to expectations for me. For those people who wants to watch it in the cinema, take my word for it that its better to watch it at home then in the cinema. save your money man!

After the movie, I went to Gelare Carousel to have ice cream and waffles because its half price on Tuesdays thats why its super cheap. Unfortunately for me, I did not get a chance to eat waffle because when i was about to order my waffle, the lady told me that there was no more waffles left and I was like no, I want my waffles! i did not eat anything for dinner so I was really hungry.

Then suddenly, estee came up to me and said :" Here Thomas, here is your dinner for you". She asked me whether I have eaten my dinner and i told her no because there was no more waffles left and I was not feeling too well either because had a bit of sore throat and cough so I did not want to eat ice cream. I was like shocked because she went to fast eddy's to get me a chicken burger for my dinner and i did not have to pay her also. I really wanted to pay her for my meal but she said:" No Thomas, its alright, this one's on me". I still wanted to pay her so I slipped a 5 dollar note into her handbag without her noticing but a few minutes later she did notice it and asked Janica to pass the 5 dollar note back to me.

Janica was like super cute lor because she did not even know why she had to pass the 5 dollar note back to me and the way she said was also so funny to me. She was like:" Thomas, take out your wallet from your pocket now and I said: No, i am not going to take the five dollar note". She then wanted to put the note in my hand but i refused so the both of us were like fooling around in front of people that I finally decided to take the note because I did not want to make a big scene out of it.

I just felt so blessed to have a friend like Estee, she is just such an amazing girl, always thinking about other people and put their needs first. Thanks ka jie, you are the best! I shall bless you too soon.

Chilling Out At The Llama Bar

Llama bar, i heard that it is indeed a nice place to go to
chill and relax and listen to some nice jazz music and yes they are all
right, it is a nice place to chill. I went there a few hours ago with
my brother, my sister,Manpreet and Kenny. The five of us ordered
drinks, listened to nice soothing jazz music which was awesome and just
had a good time. I have not enjoyed this kind of thing for quite a while
now, been busy deciding on my future, my career and so many other things.

Had the job interview yesterday morning at Schlumberger,
it was alright overall. The most surprising thing was the person who
interviewed me was not Maria the HR manager but some other dude from
India who just arrived in Perth like the night before. He himself did
not know that he had to interview me until being told so by Maria when
i stepped into the office for the interview at 10am. how funny is that man?

He started asking me all sorts of questions and also
scaring me by telling me this :"Oh, if you work in this company, you
have to be prepared to work long hours like about 12 hours a day". "If
you are the type of person who only works 9-5pm everyday, this job is
not for you". I was like okay dude, i get the point man, i know the
company operates like that and i know the culture of the people in the
company is like that so chill man, don't have to say until so extreme lar!

well, all i can hope for right now is a call from them tomorrow or next week.
really looking forward to the challenge of working long hours. hey,
their office is nice though, they got their own cafe, how cool is that?
and all the device tracking systems that they are using, its super
awesome man! cant wait, cant wait!

Job Interview With Schlumberger

I am so excited because I got a job interview, yes thats right a job interview! this is actually my second job interview in 4 months man, gosh 4 months! i myself also cannot believe it. this just shows that yes its not easy to get a job in Perth especially for someone who does not have much work experience at all. The company is called Schlumberger and it is the world's leading supplier of technology, project management and information solutions to the oil and gas industry. It is also ranked in the top 100 companies around the world so it just shows how well known this company is around the world.

I got to know about the job opening through Benedix because he was indeed looking for an assistant to help him out in his work. Therefore, I got an interview from Maria who is the HR manager and yes she called me to go for an interview on Thursday at 10am. I would really like to thank God because all this was made possible by him, not by me. He stuck with me during all these times when i was starting to get frustrated and sad because I could not get a full time accounting job for 4 months man, that is a very long time indeed. Oh well, just go in there during the interview and give it my very best!

Make Your Own Pizza Night

My YA Cell Group had a make your own pizza night yesterday night at Kelvin's house and it was fun because i got a chance to make my very own pizza for the very first time. The pizza base of course was not for us to make our very own base because there was not enough time so Liz Wu and Corrinne just went to buy the ingredients and toppings so that we can put our very own toppings onto our pizza that we want. It was indeed something different because i never did something like this before so it was great because it was just so enjoyable.

Went for a birthday lunch at Elizabeth Au's place because it was her 24th birthday so thanks Liz for inviting me, I had a great time of food and fellowship. The food was really awesome man, eat until so full. Adrian got her a David Jones Gift Card worth 100 dollars which was shared among me, Terence, Eu Lynn, Kelvin, Adrian and Corrinne. Hope you buy yourself something nice Liz, oh and happy birthday once again ya. I hope you had a memorable birthday.

Had breakfast at Hungry Jacks Cannington with Fenny, Rungano and Cheah Yen. The four of us just had a great time of fellowship and getting to know one another so yes it was very good and I did have a good time with you girls, very interesting stories that everyone told to one another.

Janica and Estee planned a farewell party for Uncle Aaron because he would be leaving for good to KL tomorrow morning. I wish you all the best brother and good luck with your job interviews, I hope you get the job that you always wanted. I will see you back in KL very soon so yes it was great knowing you and I am sure we would be in touch. God bless you brother Aaron!

Surprise Spa For Usha

I really made someone's day today because Usha was just such a happy girl after she came out from the spa. I am very happy for her too because she really deserves it after all the stress that she had to go through during the semester. It was also a birthday present for her, her 21st birthday present and hopefully it would be a memorable one for her. I thought instead of giving her a gift or an item which is so common nowadays, why not try a spa instead? It is indeed something different and yes it was something different.

How did the plan go? well, first of all i got the idea about the spa from miss gagandeep, thanks girl, you are awesome man. what a good idea! after that, the plan was i would fetch Usha from her house at 6pm today and go for dinner with her, Jason and James whom just arrived from Canberra in the afternoon. we told her that we would like to go shopping and she said okay lets go then so we all went to the Bayview Shopping Centre in Claremont. Went for dinner at this Chinese Restaurant where the food was moderate only and super expensive, 4 dishes cost the 4 of us 15 dollars each. what do you think? of course super ex right?

after dinner, suppose to go shopping but then i told Usha that I had to get something from the Bayview Spa Centre and she said okay. so when we entered the place, we were already actually late because the spa appointment was 8pm but we arrived at 8.10pm. so the lady asked me to hurry Usha because she was on the phone at that time. after she finished talking on the phone with her friend, I asked her to follow the lady at the spa and thats where she only realise that we were all not going shopping. she was so surprise, dont know what to say. she didnt even know it was a spa place. thats how blur she can be at times, hahahaha but it is super cute.

we all went for coffee after that at Dome, Applecross. we were only there for half an hour though because we went there at 9.30 and they closed at 10pm. super early man, gosh it is hard to find a good place which opens till late where I can chill man with my friends. those people interested about the spa can check out their website at www.bayviewdayspa.com.au. Enjoy!
