(cross posted in Zoe's journal)
The weekend was quite WOW! Maybe cuz i got SO many days off work I'm actually erm, overwhelmed by how nice it is to spend time with Dan, despite him feeling slightly under the weather the whole time. He's spent every single moment with me - almost for Sat and Sun.
FRIDAY:
Spent the morning tidying up some things at home - but not enough though. Dan spent the whole day in school and had some teachers' gala dinner that night. I went over with parents to bro's and we had our first mahjong session since I've gotten pregnant. we played 2 rounds and i felt pretty restless for the second round cuz sitting for too long already.
Rushed over to Bedok North's "85 market" for good ol' hawker fare before dropping bro back home, then driving parents home to change for a wedding dinner. I dropped them off at Harbourfront Towers. I went home to chill for awhile, relax and rest cuz i was so tired. Left again about 10-ish to pick the parents pick and send them home before picking dan up from ritz carlton. I think it rained that night and we slept real well.
SATURDAY:
Parents off to Kukup for the weekend! Dan & I were out of the house by 9-ish to help out at a friend's friend wedding.
That's us looking silly in the car

We didn't stay for lunch as we wanted to meet bro to get the fuel card and pump petrol - given how much travelling we're anticipating for this weekend. Dan also wanted to go to Ubi to "look-look-see-see" as he's never been to the automobile megamart. as usual, going there means getting hounded left-right-centre by salespeople trying to fetch in a customer or 2. But they weren't getting anything outta us - not within our budget and necessity to get a(nother) car since we're already sharing with the parents for this one. but it was a good experience for him to see all the parallel imported cars as well as the myriad of second-hand cars available.
After walking around there, we were kinda stuck. Going home meant petrol+time wasted, and only less than 1.5hours spent at home before we were due at Tessensohn for a wedding dinner. So we ended up in novena square (II) walking around, eating & having 'coffee' (milo actually). We landed in this nice Japanese bakery called MAMA BAKERY. THe breads were quite nice, tasty and unique. We had a Chocolate-covered Cranberry Bun, Tuna
thing, and a green-apple & almond bun. The milo was abit of a disappointment though as you will see from dan's expression. The entire experience however, was enhanced by a beautiful sunset amidst the nice (&cooling) alfresco-ness of the seating and photo opportunities for dan while I stuff myself like a penguin.
The spread! Simple presentation - eat with your hands kinda concept. Serviettes? They have a box of tissue at the counter whereby you can tug whatever u need.

Not a very complimentary photo really - with my mouth all stuffed with buns and leaning back to rest my aching back.

The less-than-desirable milo, as you can see from dan's expression.

But overall, a nice experience at Mama's bakery :) We're far above the road level - so the alfresco-ness was not polluted and hot. Was in fact really quite cooling.

Dan having fun with the macro mode. My watch - given by him last year. I like it a lot.

I wanted to capture him amidst the sunset..but it ended up abit dark and i haven't photoshop the pic yet.

Dan says we should add in some 'inspirational' words and sell as poster/card.

I'm not sure about this....SCALE?

Anyway, after all that 'fun', the cam batt finally signaled a low-batt status. the funny thing about the Coolpix P5100 is how there isn't a batt gauge UNTIL the low batt. But thank God the low batt doesn't come out only when it's JUST about to die. We had quite a few more shots before it died actually!
So after the wed dinner (which we didn't take any pictures of), we dropped by parents to check on the cats. I felt so bad when I left them (after about half an hour). While I was busying around in the house, Dan basically hang around outside with cow-cow (to make sure he didn't wander downstairs!!!) and took pictures. Here goes a few more pics of the silly kitties:
Not really bothered by anything...

Strangely so blardy jumpy all over that night...my smookie dooks.

We called it a day/night at about 12mn and went home totally pooped. Thus no update till today.
SUNDAY:
Didn't whip out the camera much today...except for a few shots at the funfair in the morning, and dan's current favourite subject - the flyer....always taken while i'm driving across the Benjamin Sheares bridge...thus the not-so-clear quality at times.
We were out the entire day again, for the Church of St Bernadette funfair in the morning, then to pick up bro for one of our God-aunties' housewarming in Tampines. Her executive apartment was so huge and so nicely renovated. nice. We only stayed for awhile cuz Dan & I had to rush back to St Mary's for Xmas practice. So it was like a cross-island thing for us. Finished xmas practice and went to queensway to zap stuff, then back to parents to get them for mass as they have just reached home. Dinnered at the new food court in Great World City - which we SHOULD have taken some pics but i think everyone was tired.
At the funfair - saying hi to my friends. I couldn't quite be of much help at the stall anyway.

Dan's cousin('s wife) had a stall. She likes making these candles - for baptism, christmas, whatever. They made our matrimony candle too.

All sorts of sizes

The Flyer, from a new angle.

We reached home 8-ish, totally punctured. But I still got my foot massage (courtesy of my loving hub). Happy girl I am.
