MIC = CMI?
Everyday when I read the newspaper, there's surely something about China.
"Well bloody hell of course!" you say. And why not? After all it WAS Beijing 2008 and an earthquake can really shake things up in the media.
China is a very, very, very fascinating country. First of all, it's *expletive* huge! It's just one of those countries that so big it has different climates and timezones in it.
Then there's all that history and stuff like that. If you think studying Singapore's history is sian, wait til you study China's history!
I always read from books or websites about how amazing China is. And I couldn't agree more. China is amazing. So many kinds of people, languages, religions. A rich history. It's almost like a giant Singapore.
But everytime I read about something good on China, later on something bad comes out!
For example.
Wonderful introduction to Beijing Olympics!
Cute little girl sings and touches the hearts of millions.
Later, we find out that the girl was lip-synching?!
Millions collectively go "WTF?".
China Punk'd the whole world man!
And now, we have that news about melamine contamination in milk. Last I heard, melamine is the same thing we find in some of our plates (unless you're a rich bastard using silver plates).
And now there's thousands of babies with kidney stones over there. Hope there won't be any here. *sigh* the poor people.
Then I thought, "which country hasn't this kinda stuff?". Even Singapore has its fair share of food-related err.... mishaps. Remember the school with the mass lao sai incident? Suddenly, the NeWater production for Singapore jack up at that time! Hahaha! (Jk)
And then there's the stuff that China makes.
I've read over and over again about China's booming industry and how it and India are gonna overtake the USA in being global superpowers in terms of economy and stuff like that.
And it's all entirely possible! But not in the near future I guess.
I've got tons of emails from friends and family, telling me to be careful of what I eat or buy in China....coz it just might end up killing me. Or at least make me really sick.
I mean...they substitute CARDBOARD for meat in dumplings? That can't possibly be true. Specifics: They squish cardboard to make them look like meat and add flavouring. What the fish?
Paper paos, anyone?
What goes through your mind when somebody mentions "made in China"?
Cheap? Lousy?
You'll be surprised how many items are actually made/assembled in China.
My laptop is made in China and so far it's given few problems and those few are created by a careless asshole named Danny.
Most of your MP3 players are assembled in China. Or maybe even your high definition 46 inch plasma with Blu-ray blah blah chim chim ..... television.
Heck, my MIC wushu-cum-footie shoes are cheap but 100000x better than my past Nike shoes. They've lasted through all my footie noobness far longer than any of those shiny with fancy colours shoes I've had. I've seen many guys wearing those shoes and they are more pro than people wearing branded shoes!
Got tick or 3 stripes doesn't equal skills! >:D
But like everything else, there's a good and there's a bad.
Goodness gracious when MIC items are bad, they are really bad to the max.
My MIC guitar amplifier for example. Sounds like gonna explode anytime soon!
But you know what they say. Buy cheap don't expect expensive performance.
How about MIC cars?
Check out the reviews of an MIC car!

The first time I saw this, I laughed my ass off but abruptly stopped when I realised I couldn't even afford it. =P
My friend got it spot on when he said MIC is quantity over quality. At least for now.
Who knows? Maybe in the future we'll all be buying Chery cars like they were Toyota or going to China to eat like its nearer than JB.
You know, I've considered learning Chinese, just in case one day, China really does become a world superpower like the US. I have Chinese blood flowing in me anyway. For every 7 words of Malay I learn, must learn 1 Chinese word. ^.^
I think by that time, everybody will be rushing to do business in China, if they haven't already.
So guys, make more friends from China! =D
