A Trip To My Right Hand

You know what's not fun?

Injuries. :(

I kinda broke my right hand playing footie last Thursday.

Then I went to the hospital and got my arm casted.
Funny thing is, bones in my hand got broken but my whole arm got wrapped up!

But the cast has since been removed and replaced with a less irritating, less itchy and less troublesome.....splint.

Being injured suck major balls. It's so say my leftie can't do anything....right.

Eating, drinking, bathing....things I've taken for granted are suddenly so hard to do.

So guys, always appreciate the use of your limbs and five senses while they're still working fine. :)

Thanks to all my friends and family for the best wishes, special thanks to my comrades Ridhwan, Hidayat and Imran (and that unknown lecturer guy) for helping me at the cracking (hehe) moment, accompanying me to the clinic and all and even footing the medical bill. Also special thanks to Cass and Huixian for helping me copy notes and SUPER special thanks to my parents for bringing me to NUH, go through all that waiting and still manage to put out the fire when the bills burned the heck out of their wallets.

If there's anything I've learnt from this experience, is that injuries are much more than just pain.

You'll need to be very, very, very patient.
And you're gonna need quite some money.

After watching shows like "E.R" and stuff like that, when they said I'd be going to A&E (Accident and Emergency), I immediately thought "omg theres gonna be like people runnin around and screaming CLEAR and doctors rushing people on stretchers around".

STUFF JUST AIN'T LIKE IN THE TELLY.

A&E was more like a polyclinic. Except there's nobody in there coz they have a flu or something....we're talking wheelchair-bound, broken legs, broken arms, bandaged head...and people who look perfectly fine. -.- But I suspect they're there coz they swallowed a safety pin or something lol.

This is where lots of patience helps. Coz there's a shiteload of waiting to be...waited. It can be very boring, but occasionally you have nurses calling out patients' names and some can be very funny.

When the nurse call this guy name "Ah Meng" I really buay tahan. Cannot be I hear wrong coz she call out twice! Hahahahaha!

Then the really Asian nurse try to call angmoh name also very funny. Caleb (kay-leb, 'leb' rhymes with curb) become "Celeb" as in 'celebrity'! Hahahahaha! Celeb Wong! Wahahahaha.

How does an angmoh pronounce "Suk Mai Kok Felise"?

Okay so it goes like this, wait --> go to nurse --> wait --> go to X-Ray --> wait --> go to doctor --> wait --> go to nurse for cast --> wait --> take medicine and burn wallet.

Appointment also same.

Give appointment card --> wait outside appointment room --> refer to other room and wait --> take out cast and doctor check --> wait --> go downstair for x-ray appointment --> wait --> get x-ray appointment --> wait --> get x-rayed --> wait for results --> get results go upstair report back to doctor --> wait --> doctor call give MC all this --> wait --> see therapist --> wait for payment --> go home with charred wallet.

But shiok man. 14 day MC. But got two more appointments coming up.

#$&@#$@^#$ wait and more parents' money sprout wings and fly.

LESSON LEARNT: Injury = Pain + Patience + Money + Time

So guys, please take care of yourselves...especially those riding motorbikes and those who play a lot of sports. And remember, this one is just break a hand!
