The Legendary 2nd Post

Greetings!

Coming up this week: Tirade Against Bus Fares Episode 2!

Really, man. It's killing me.

Well, not actually me...my Mom pays for my bus fares.

But!

Sometime last week I tried to top-up my EZ-Link with NETS. It didn't work. I tried like 3 different machines. Conclusion - My bank account balance: $0.00

( By the way, all the money in my account belongs to my Mom coz I used up all the money to buy some guitar stuff )

Oh yeah, if you/I thought the $1.09 thing was bad...

Distance from house to Yew Tee MRT: 5 minutes walk / 1+ minute on bus 302

Cost of travelling that distance: Free / $0.67

$0.67 for a 1 minute bus ride? =O What a shocka!

You know what I'm gonna do?

Someday, I'll climb on board a 302, NOT tap my EZ-Link and proceed to deliver a speech ( about rebelling against the ridiculous fare prices ) so inspiring that everybody on that bus will jolt up from their seats and give me a standing ovation. Then I will hijack the bus, let everybody off and crash the bus at Choa Chu Kang Interchange ( jumping off the bus at the last minute Hollywood style, no wait, BOLLYWOOD style ) to get my point across.

HECK YEAH, THAT'S WHAT I'M GONNA DO!

Or you know what, I could just walk. -.-

So anyway...

I spent my last hour or so blogsurfing and on a tagging rampage. I found that I have a *profanity* lot to catch up on with me olde' mates back at Unity. I mean, I haven't seen some of em' since taking back our O' Level results.

How are you, my comrades? I hope you're all doing good and enjoying life! Oh, how I miss you all.

From secondary school right to our respective tertiary institutions, I have seen changes in all of you. Some good and some bad. Mostly good.

I hope I have changed for the better. It's been so long since I've written (typed) anything on this blog that I've not the words to catch up with all that's happening around.

You know, my one fear concerning friends is that I be forgotten or that I have not left a good impression on you. Really, I think about it all the time.

Well, emo-ing aside...

Guess what me and Cellie found on our way home from school yesterday...

These poor puppies. =(

It's a mix of delight and pity, really.

I've found boxes with kittens, boxes with baby rabbits but never puppies in the grass.

What kind of monster would dump these two adorable little critters to fend for themselves?
Never heard of the SPCA?

I wish I could take them home, but besides my really jumpy Mom ( gains ability to stick to walls and ceilings when in the presence of virtually any furry animal ), being a Muslim, I can't touch dogs ( at least their noses ) because errrr......don't ask me, I ain't no cleric.

When I came home today, they weren't there.

I REALLY hope some kind soul out there found them and brought them to a nice shelter...not some bored guy with a meat cleaver, or a guy who hates dogs and owns a chainsaw... or some clumsy guy wearing golf cleats...

Well, can't put all available material in one go, bye for now!

( This post was saved on Saturday, and continued on Tuesday. Yeah, that is some wicked lag! )

C'MON, UPDATE ALREADY!

MUST.....FORCE...SELF TO.....UPDATE....

*constipated face*

Yes, that must've been one hell of a renovation. And one heller of a hiatus!

Okay guys, no shite. I'm just plain lazy to post anything. Poor thing hasn't been updated in ages.

But no matter how rarely I've updated, this blog shall never die!

LONG LIVE THE ARSENAL HANGOUT/THE EMIRATES CAVE/DAN'S CAVE!

Apart from being extremely lazy to update, I've also no idea what to blog about.

Life's just been good so far....nothin' to rant about. Okay, wait a second. I think I got it.

BUS FARES.

Goodness, are they a killer.

Yesterday, I took 961 to a bus stop somewhere near my neighbourhood, from Shell Station behind campus. Just about like a 20 minute ride.

And I had to freakin' pay $1.09?!

Sorry if I sound like a raging cheapskate, but for someone who thinks $10 is a lot ( yours truly, of course ), $1.09 for a short bus ride is a ripoff!

$1.09! Add 31 cents and I can buy two packets of Danbooze with that! ( Milo )

Screw it, man. I'm gettin' me some concession.

Living in Singapore is getting more expensive.

Rising bus fares, train fares, GST....no wonder nobody wants to make babies nowadays. And who can blame em'? Just a month's worth of public transport fees cost a Baby Bonus or two. Okay maybe not, but you get my point.

Ahhhh. Now that's off my chest.

Last Thursday, ( Happy belated Deepavali to all my Hindu friends, and a special CHEEEEEEEE for my mate VJ coz I couldn't make it to his house ) I played a friendly game of footie with some lads from other schools.

And all I had to say for myself is... OUCH.

I got outplayed and outmuscled for most of the games. The players really got down and dirty and just pushed, barged and footraped for the ball. In fact, I was lucky to have left the court with just a scratch.

It got me thinking.

Sometimes, I wish I was 2 feet taller and made of nothing but pure muscle so I too can barge and roughhouse in footie, whenever needed.

So I can try to push someone away and they actually FEEL it.

Alas, I'm just -50cm shorter than what I say my height is, and I ain't a frequent gymbag either.

.........

I'm 215cm tall, by the way.

Well, I've been told by some of my footie seniors that a player's stance is important and so I've to keep my neck straight instead of letting it bow like I always do, which contributes to my ostrich-like gait.

So in simple terms, I used to walk like an ostrich. Now, I walk like an ostrich with a stiff neck.

Footie lesson: Run to the ball, not wait for it to come
Footie resolutions: Train stamina

On the topic of footie.. ( don't get bored, non-footie fans )

THE GUNNERS ARE HOT!

Hell yeah, we're on top of the table and flying! Too bad stupid Man U just has to be sniffing up our arses at a close second.

Flashback preseason, some people even dared saying "Arsenal" and "relegation" under the same breath, saying The Gunners will be mashed potato without Thierry Henry.

Even though Thierry's presence will forever be missed *sniff*, we're doing good without him, so there! *sniff*

Lesson to be learnt here? Don't ever write off Arsenal, ya bunch of ....

Moving away from footie...

Yeah, life's been smooth nowadays besides a bump on the road next week ( shiteload of tests ), everything's a-okay. I got wonderful classmates, and last Thursday's meeting with me old pals just about sums it all up.

Yeah, the time between March till now has been left undocumented but life between that hasn't been all rumble-and-tumble. ( That's for myself in the future when I'm reading this )

Well, that's all for now. I just know that my laziness will keep me from adding another post just days after this one, but whatever comes, comes. I will try my best to keep this blog a lil' less dustier. :)

Now, I gotta go find the contractor...
