In today's daily bread, it talks abt hypocrisy. We must make sure our actions and the way we think towards God go hand in hand.
We should not act like a hypocrite like the Pharisees in Jesus' time!

Hypocrisy is a common sin
That grieves the Lord above
He longs for those who'll worship Him
In faith and truth and love. --- Bosch

in today's daily bread edition, the article is about guarding one's heart n soul so that it can be pure for God's use. gatekeepers. are we guarding it securely? am I guarding it securely?

Help me to guard my troubled soul
By constant, active self-control.
Clean up my thought, my speech, my play;
Lord, keep me pure from day to day. —Thomas

To be a Christian

got this from one of the many emails i received

>
>
> Several years ago, a priest from out-of-state accepted a call to a
> church in Houston , Texas .
>
> Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from
> his home to the downtown area.
>
> When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given
> him a quarter too much change.
> As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, 'You'd better give
> the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it.'
>
> Then he thought, 'Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry
> about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare;
> they will never miss it. Accept it as a 'gift from God' and keep
> quiet.'
>
> When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, and then he
> handed the quarter to the driver and said, 'Here, you gave me too much
> change.'
> The driver, with a smile, replied, 'Aren't you the new priest in town?'
> 'Yes' he replied.
> 'Well, I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to
> worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too
> much change. I'll see you at church on Sunday.'
>
> When the priest stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the
> nearest light pole, held on, and said, 'Oh God, I almost sold your Son
> for a quarter.'
>
> Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. This is a
> really scary example of how much people watch us as Christians, and
> will put us to the test! Always be on guard -- and remember -- You
> carry the name of Christ on your shoulders when you call yourself
> 'Christian.'
>
> Watch your thoughts; they become words.
>
> Watch your words; they become actions...
>
> Watch your actions; they become habits.
>
> Watch your habits; they become character.
>
> Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

it suddenly struck me

singapore has a population made up of approximately 1/4 of foreigners which is ~ 1 million people. all these people are either in the construction, financial or science industries. n if these people suddenly leave, it will leave a gap in our economy. it's almost identical with the situation of Egypt in the Bible. the Israelites were foreigners in Egpyt. they went there at the invitation of the king of Pharoah. but after many many years, they became slaves and were unhappy with their situation in Egypt. The Pharaoh did not allow the Israelites to leave because they would leave a big gap in their construction industry.

I'm thinking, the foreigners in Singapore came at the invitation of our country but if they to multiply more n grow, will we become like Egypt?? Although it hasn't happened, i seriously hope it will not ! it's too scary to have 10 plagues befalling on us!!!
