living as a family isn't easy when the members grow older
the parents get more irritating while the kids get frustated at the speed their parents are doing things
the kids go 'can't you hurry?' or something along that line.
is it really important to eat dinner over 2 hours?
maybe it's because as parents grow older, they have nothing to look forward to and that's why they can drag it for 2 hours.
yet the parents dun seem to understand that they are just wasting the kids' time
the kids will have their own programs lined up!
and when the kids are forced to eat for so long against their wishes, quarrels start and the cycle begins again.

why can't parents try to start learning something about their own kids? their grown-up kids and not the kids they gave birth to like a decade ago. making the house or making money is important but not that important as to neglect your own kids rite? it's such an irony in our culture when the population gets more educated, more highly-educated-related problems start to arise and yet, there seems to be no awareness of it from both sides.

wanting the kids to do it the parents' way will not work anymore as the kids grow up.there should be a compromise. that's the way it should be. if the parents are intelligent enough, they should have the foresight to compromise even when the kids are young. and the tone parents take with their kids is something worth considering. and yet some parents seem unconscious of themselves. how ironic isn't it? parents

Parents should be supportive of their kids’ activities for this would promote creativity but this culture isn’t part of Asian culture or maybe I should say, the parents would tighten their reign on their kids until the kids tried it on the sly. After which, problems arise which leads to frequent quarrels and the kids try more ‘stunts’. Why can’t Asian parents be more supportive of what the kids want to try if it’s legal? Let’s say for example, the kid wants to try baking for the very first time. If the mother is a housewife, most probably, she will be ‘ready to nag’ when her kitchen gets messed up. It’s not like the kid is going to blow up the kitchen rite? The more the reign on the kid, the tenancy is higher for the kid to rebel. Like a kite, sometimes, there must be some slack or else the kite string will snap and there goes the kite.

Creativity arises when there’s space to be yourself and the freedom to explore new things. Maybe that’s why there’s so little Nobel laureates in this part of the world. Great and well-known scientists hail from the other side of the globe where creativity is encouraged and highly promoted. Though blindly following is not good, it should be adapted to our Asian culture with buffers.

The role of parents should evolve over time and with the growing of the kid. Parents should not treat their kids like ‘they-do-not-know-anything’; instead, they should behave as they are talking to a friend. Personally, I feel that in this way, the kids will not hesitate to confide in their parents when they encountered any problems. If the parents are someone who always scolds when things go wrong, would the kids confide in them? The kids might turn to their friends who might give the wrong suggestions to the problem. Although I’m not yet a parent, I have been through many situations and have seen many negative examples of parenting. The kid is learning as he/she is growing up but at the same time, the parents are also learning how to be good parents. Listen and learn to give-and-take!

The buyer decided you can keep the milk and they go look for milk that comes from recycled cows or the cow urine instead..

there are still uncouth people in this country
i'm appalled by it
can't people be more graceful?
can't people have more patience?
is it so important to be in a rush?
n i think part of the reason lies in the way we are brought up in this part of the world where emphasis is placed on being-the-best-you-can-be
and so we can be the best we want in terms of education
but when it comes to basic courtesy, I feel we are still lacking and we should start reflecting on ourselves
