Black eyes

I think we've had a black eye at our house (on one face or another) for almost a year! Avery scored a beauty over the weekend (trampoline). Ashley finally recovered from a pair of black eyes--until last night when she got a little too close to her competitor in a friendly game of Wii Sports. Ryan and I are lucky we don't sport the lucky color on a daily basis--as Gage insists on sleeping sideways between our heads every night. (He throws a wild kick and a dangerous head slam!) If you'll notice our family picture--Gage is wearing a pair of well earned BLACKS! And they are almost two months old in that picture (should have seen them earlier!) I wonder who is next?

Birthdays

Steven and Ashley were born three years and eight days apart. Steven was ten on Saturday. Ashley will be 7 this Sunday. My parents were here over the weekend (a tradition since Steven's 2nd birthday) to celebrate with us. My nephew and niece, Tyson and Amber, and their three children were here, as well as another niece and nephew (Dallin and Allie). It was a houseful! We had a nice time. We enjoyed the olympics, pizza (Steven's birthday food of choice), cake (not my favorite--I like cheesecake!), donuts (for Steven's 4th grade class) Steven's basketball game, and a few quiet moments (a few!). Happy Birthday Steven! Ashley is anxiously counting down the hours until her birthday bell rings! So exciting! So exciting! Remember the days when a birthday was nearly as thrilling as Christmas? It's fun to be a kid!

Avery's Art

Avery spends a lot of her time drawing. This morning she handed me a small piece of her artwork and said: "Mom, this is a picture of you at Disneyland with a Dude in a movie"

Fiesta Bowl 2010

Electrical Wholesale sent a few of their customers to the Fiesta Bowl this year. We were lucky enough to tag along! It was a quick trip (down and back in a little over 24 hours). We enjoyed Bronco fan's, Arizona's weather, a great game, quick flight, and good company! Thanks to EWS, faithful customers, and those Broncos!

Has it really been that long?

Avery's birthdays remind us how many years we've lived in Boise. She'll be 5 tomorrow! Her arrival was by far the greatest Christmas gift that year! She was my smallest at birth (7lbs. 12 oz.) She looks a lot like her dad, but with a lot more hair! Funny, we didn't think her hair would EVER grow! A few things about Avery:
1. she tells great stories
2. she loves gum
3. she doesn't like to wear socks
4. she makes the rules! (at least lives by her own set of them....sigh)
5. the position of her bottom lip tells ALL!
6. she loves cheese pizza & bagels w/ cream cheese
7. she loves Dad's 'squishy' hugs

We love you Avery! Have a happy day!

Over The Weekend

McCall is one of our favorite places to visit because:

  1. we can be there in just a few hours

  2. our time share feels like our own little 'cabin' in the mountains

  3. we're always there together

  4. an indoor pool, table tennis, pool table, and exercise room

  5. beautiful walks

  6. and very happy children!

We had a great time over the weekend!
