My iPod donottoucho

Most of you dear readers probably already know that I am a proud owner of a new iPod nano. But this little piece of gadgetry has really been a mixed blessing thus far.

Yes, it is shiny and glossy and so very tiny. But boy does it pick up stains. It's like one of those fingerprinting film thingamajigs that CSI Miami's Horatio uses to lift prints off knives and what not. Maybe it's a 'feature' besides the MP3 playing, just in case you are walking along the street, listening to your Black-Eyed Peas, and just so happen to chance upon a dead body next to a bloody fire extinguisher. Now wouldn't you wish your music player would pick up fingerprints too, Hah!

So there were smudges. So I tried to wipe them off. And then there were scratches. Which I tried to polish off. And then there were more scratches. ARRGGGHHH!! And now there is cling wrap.

Yeap, I have since resigned myself from trying to polish away the scratches and have simply wrapped my entire nano in kitchen cling wrap, at least till I get some protective cover or my anal retentiveness coalesces enough crap and begin to fold space-time upon itself and implode. (The latter is so not going to happen.)

Shrink wrapped

In fact, I'm considering brushing my nano's back like what I did to Adrian's already scratched iPod. Looks cool don't you think?

The SKY!

Here's a collection of recent photos of the two things I love to photograph the most, buildings and the sky.

Heeren
This is Heeren on a nice afternoon.

Branch
This is a tree branch on a nice afternoon.

Sleep WellHDB
Sleep well. The sun behind some flats.

Towers
Towers.

Stairway to Heaven
Stairs.

Rendezvous Hotel
Rendezvous Hotel.

Glass Filter
This was taken behind a glass window, which explains the odd colour cast. But I think it looks decidedly LOMO-ish after some tweaking.

Anti-climatic Orange Rectangles

Rectangles

I entered a photography competition last semester in school. It was called Scene 469 because it involved anything to do with SMU or the Bukit Timah Campus, and the address for the Campus is 469 on Bukit Timah Road. Obviously I didn't expect to win anything. But hey, since I had photos and it costs nothing to enter, so I did.

And I won second prize for Architecture! The picture is decidedly anti-climatic I must say, but considering some of the other winning pictures were simply group photos (some even containing the alleged photographers), I think I did quite alright.

And for that, I got myself a 4 Mega-pixel R607 HP Camera and a HP Photo Printer (Did I mention the competition was sponsored by HP?), both of which I intend to sell. Any offers?

Oh and btw, I named the photo "Rectangles" when I sent it in. In retrospect, I could've called it "Orange" and it wouldn't have mattered.
