My Amazing 5-month-old

It has been hard to get myself to start a post this month because I have been so distracted by all of the blogs I've been following.. My awesome husband bought me a sewing machine for Mother's day, and I have been obsessed with finding cute things to make ever since. I never knew just how many crafty blogs there are! It blows my mind!

Anyway, this post isn't about me, it's about my adorable 5 month-old son who I just can't get enough of!
This last month he has been getting so good at ALMOST sitting up by himself. I know it's gonna happen in the next few weeks! We are still working on rolling over.. he can roll onto his side, but then he ALWAYS has his hands in his mouth so his elbows get in the way, making it impossible to roll all the way over. When I try to get him to do it, he thinks it's a game or something and we both just end up laughing together. I love it!
Here are some highlights from the last month..

We've noticed that Logan has developed two different personalities. There is Polite Logie who is very proper, hardly talks, and gives lots of small courtesy smiles..

And then there is Crazy Logie who sings, talks, laughs, wiggles, and gives HUGE smiles to anyone who looks at him..

We always pray that Polite Logie will show himself when we go to church, but that usually doesn't happen, haha.

Here are some more random pictures.

It was hard getting a good picture of these three! Brooke and Mya love to sing to their baby cousin!

Here he is sitting up with support. I love this picture.

Taking a bath.. sorry for the nudity!

He finally got to go outside!! As you can see in the pictures, he was being Polite Logie at the park.

Who is that cute little man in our bed??

Martha Stewart Wanna-be

This may never happen again so I have to document it! Within the same week or so, I made and decorated a cake with fondant all by myself, and made a fruit bouquet with the help of my hubby! I really do have an (somewhat) artistic side! Who knew?

Dan went out of town for a few days so me and Logan had to find ways to pass the time. I have always wanted to use fondant, just to see if I could do it and make it look good. I found a recipe online, and after going to a million stores to get some of the weird ingredients, I was able to make the fondant from scratch! The cake was out of a box, but at least the frosting was from scratch, haha.

Here is the cake...

Not bad for a first timer, eh? After making the fondant, I realized that I only had two food colors, Green and Yellow, but I think it turned out alright.

My sister-in-law had a birthday last month, and we all wanted to do something special for her. She loves fruit, and we weren't about to pay money for one of those professional fruit bouquets, so we googled a bunch of pictures and made our own!

Yeah, it doesn't look quite as good as the professional bouquets, but we thought we did a pretty good job for the short amount of time we had!

4 months already??

I can't believe Logan is 4 months! It has gone by soo fast!! This last month he has been changing like crazy! He has started grabbing and playing with toys, he LAUGHS at least once a day, he loves to sit up (with lots of help from us), he finally lifts his head up during tummy time (instead of freaking out and digging his face in the blanket), and his personality gets bigger and even more fun as time goes on.  It is such a blessing to be able to witness all of these little triumphs that this sweet little boy achieves! He makes me and Dan soooo happy (and soooo tired)! Love you Logan!

Playing with the cousins

Even though I try not to let him watch TV a lot, if it's on while he's in the room, he will crank his head as far as he can to see it!

I took Logan to visit his dad at work one day, and when we came home, I found that he had wriggled his arm out of his seat belt.. I guess neither of us realized how loose it was! Luckily we only drove a couple of miles like this!

Our friends were so nice to give us a high chair! I laughed when I put this tiny little boy in it!

Around 7pm, when I'm trying to keep him busy for another hour and half, I stick him in this and vacuum for as long as I can..and he LOVES it!
He loves playing with his toys in his car seat.. until this happens.
Giggling SO hard he had to put his hand on the bumbo to keep himself up!

His new train outfit!

He loves reading books with daddy before bedtime

While I was working one Friday, Dan went to his sister Amy's and forgot to take a bib with him. Amy was so kind to let Logan wear one of her girls' bibs! He is such a pretty little princess!

He is finally looking up when on his stomach!

Three Months!

Logie turned 3 months old last week! Hooray!
Get ready for a Logan overload.. We captured lots of pictures this month.. most of which are of his "firsts". Don't get too excited though.. these are the kind of "firsts" that only an obsessive parent gets excited about :)
We really need to stop taking pictures on our phones, because these pictures are horrible quality..

First time sitting in the bumbo

First time holding a toy!

First time sitting on the couch by himself

First time out in the sun

First time facing forward in his stroller

First time balancing on Dan's hand

First time on a Sunday walk

Playing with Daddy

Playing with Mommy

Pure joy!
