My Baby Has a Helmet

Kennedy is my 9 month old baby and she has "Plagiocephaly" deformity of the skull (flat spot). We knew at her 6 month appointment she would be needing to get this. But it was actually a lot of work to finally get it. It took about 1 month to get into Primary's to see the cranial facial plastic surgeon and then another month to make the helmet! But she has it on now. She has to wear it for 23 hrs of the day for approximately 3 months. We take it off in the evenings usually for an hour so we can get her in the tub and wash her helmet. There are pressure spots on certain areas and no pressure on her flat spots. We have to go into the helmet place every 10 days or so to get it refitted as her head changes shape and grows. Then we have to go to primary children's every 4 weeks to have the specialist look at it. It is important to get this helmet on while her soft spots haven't closed and her skull is moldable still. If we didn't do it now, she might run into problems when she is older. Her brain which is round would be trying to grow in a not round skull which could only be fixed by skull surgery. So hopefully we can avoid that! And soft spots close around 14 months of age. So we are happy that she has it on now. She has had it for about 3 weeks and her head is already changing. The first week was a rough but she is used to it now. Here is when she got it casted.

Love her chubby cheeks

First day getting her helmet

Getting used to it

Now she has some bling on it

Dreaming of a round head!

We are so thankful for modern medicine that has helped our little girl so much. Kennedy is such a little sweetheart who has been through a lot. I couldn't ask for a better baby she is SO good! She is getting stronger through this and we are so happy and blessed with her. We love you KJ!

Suprise Girls Weekend In Idaho

We wanted to suprise my mom in Idaho with a kid free girls weekend. It was so much fun. Full of movies, shopping, eating, and crafting.......I don't think it can get any better! It was a blast to suprise my mom cause she had no clue. Thanks to hubbies for watching the kiddos at home so we could all have a well deserved break! But I sure did miss my babies!

My 2nd Favorite Time of the Year!

Our 4th of July was so much fun this year. We did something unusual and did our own little family thing. It was a change of pace for us. It was our year to spend with the Henry side of the family but since the 4th landed on a Monday we were able to do the family stuff with the Henry's on the weekend and enjoy our own individual Henry time on the 4th. So we started off the morning going to Layton park and playing volleyball with our friends. It was so much fun because the kids loved playing with each other and volleyball is so much fun. It was nice because the parade goes right by there. So we were able to take our kids to see the parade too.

Then we went home and had a family nap which was amazing and I feel like never happens. When we woke up we went to the carnival and Kaymbree did all the bouncee toys and just loved them. It was so much fun to watch her. She also had her first cotton candy! She just started laughing when she was eating it. It was so much fun to watch her experience new things. I just love watching my kids grow up. Then we got some BBQ and went home.

Then when we got home we bathed the kids and we took Kaymbree outside when it was still light to fire up some pretty intense fireworks (hope you can sense my sarcasm of how sweet our firework show was). But once again just fun to see Kaymbree enjoy it. Then we put our kids down and climbed on our roof to watch the fireworks. Now when I say climb we didn't have a ladder! We climbed out Kennedy's room window and Dan hoisted me up to the top, it was pretty dang hilarious. Not to mention Dan dropped his soda from our roof on accident. But it was a lot of fun and we could see 4 different cities sets of fireworks from our house. It was no Idaho Falls fireworks that is for sure. I am actually pretty disappointed with Layton's show but it was so much fun being up there and making our own little family tradition. We hope you all had a wonderful 4th like we did!

Missing Camera

So I lost my camera for a little over a month. It fell behind my dresser and was stuck on my baseboard. Because I did look under my dresser but not good enough! So I am so glad that Dan found it. Sorry I have not been good at blogging. I was really hoping I would find it before Kaymbree's 2nd birthday. And I did! Thank goodness! So here is a big catch up on what we have been up to.
I love the matchy matchy clothes

These sisters love each other so much!

Kennedy at 5 months started to roll and got 2 bottom teeth.
And I can put her hair up too!

Kennedy turned 2! She got a slide /basketball hoop for the backyard and loves it!

So excited for her cake! She is so dang cute!

We had a family reunion at Island Park on memorial day weekend. We had a Dora the Explorer birthday party for her up there with her cousins. She loves the "pirate pigs" so that is why she is in a pirate hat. Right before her party she put her hand on the fireplace and got a 2nd degree burn. It was so sad I started to cry too. Good thing my mom who is a nurse was there because I was so stressed out!

exhausted birthday girl!

love this picture. She enjoys getting into mischief and LOVES to wear mommy's shoes!

My beautiful baby Kennedy at 5 months. Even though now she 6 . She is such a good baby. Always so happy and smiley! I love this chunky girl so much!

Kaymbree loves to get in Kennedy's crib with her! They are so cute and funny together. They are already best friends!

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter this year and hope all of you had a great Easter too. We had my parents come down from Idaho to spend the Easter weekend with us. It was a blast. We went to the Hill Air Force Base Museum to see all the planes that Kaymbree loves and sees everyday flying by. Of course my dad and Dan loved looking at all the different planes too. Then we had my sister and her family come over to have a bbq, egg hunt, and color eggs. It was a lot of fun. My mom wants us adult kids to still participate in Easter egg hunts. So she puts money in the eggs so we definitely like to join in! It was a lot of fun and Kaymbree was able to enjoy Easter more this year and understands a lot. She LOVED to look for Easter eggs. In fact we have had many egg hunts since Easter .......all day today! She looks for the empty eggs and brings them to me and i throw them somewhere else and she literally did that all day today. It was pretty funny and I was glad she found a new form of entertainment!

I am so grateful for the Savior and all he did for us so we are able to live with our Heavenly Father again. I can't even begin to imagine the pain he suffered for my sins, but I am so thankful to him for that. I can never repay him, but I am going to try by living my life righteously!

But we were thinking how does Easter have anything to do with a bunny? Please if you know how this came about let me know because I was really confused this year when i started thinking about it. The resurrection of the Savior and a bunny that hides eggs. First of all random about a bunny. Second of all a bunny and eggs??? Bunnies don't lay eggs or have anything to do with eggs. Why isn't it a chick hiding eggs or where did all this come from. Sometimes (a lot of times) I over think things. But if you know how it came about let me know cause it is actually driving me crazy!!!
