5th place

We made it through another year of showing chickens at the county fair. Mason did great this year! He placed 5th!! We were so proud of him. It's always a family affair so Andy and I took a lot of pride in that ribbon as well! :) He sold pretty early in the auction this year so that was nice too! Our friends the Fleetwoods (who bought Mason's chickens last year) and the Panko's went in together to buy this years lot. We are very thankful for their support, and of course their friendship! Mason is hoping to convince us to let him show something different next year....right when we were finally getting the hang of showing chickens. Maybe Alex will want to show chickens and Mason can show something else?! Maybe. We'll cross that bridge later. In the meantime, way to go Mason!

Presley Grey Sullivan

I'm an AUNT! And Andy's an UNCLE and the boys have a COUSIN! Yippee! AND....it's a GIRL! The Dallmeyer household has to figure out what to do with a girl, but we are willing to take on the challenge. My brother and sister-in-law are now the proud parents of Presley Grey Sullivan! She is a little angel. I went to meet her while they were still in the hospital. When I first held her I felt like I was holding a feather. She is so little! She was 6 lbs 1 oz and 19 inches long. She was born at 10:09 on September 17th. Everyone is at home now and they seem to be adjusting well. Heather seems very calm and confident and Casey is being very helpful. I am so excited for them. I can't wait to see her again. I know how fast they change at this stage! Heather and Casey were lucky enough to have a friend/photographer come to the hospital and take some pretty great pics of the baby/parents. Check out my facebook photos to see more! Isn't she the sweetest?!

Austin- 21 months

I have had this post in my drafts for several weeks now. Every time I sit down to write something comes up. Seriously as I sat down to right this, Austin woke up from his nap early. He is going to have to lay in his bed for a few minutes because I am determined to publish this today! :)
Austin is doing so many things these days and if I don't take the time to document it, I won't remember.
He isn't a baby anymore, that's for sure. He wants to do everything HIMSELF. "Walk, self", "Do it, self", "hold it, self". He also wants to see and do everything the big boys are doing. He has a huge vocabulary thanks to 4 of us talking his ear off each day! He can count "1,2,3 (skips 4 every time), 5,6,7,8". Many times he starts out with 5,6,7,8. Being on drill team, it makes me think I should start a dance routine! He can say please and thank you, but he always follows thank you with welcome. When you hand him something he says "Thank you welcome". It's so cute! His favorite breakfast is pancake and eggs. He is really picky right now and still won't eat much meat- only rare bites of chicken. He refuses to drink milk ever since I took his bottle away. His favorite activities are riding on the lawnmower, the 4 wheeler and daddy's truck. He knows which keys go to what and will pick them out of the drawer and bring them to us. He loves being outside. He is showing some interest in potty training, although he still hasn't actually peed in the potty. He prefers to pee in the bathtub each night, after spending 15 minutes on the potty! Here is his "cheese" smile!

Sometimes we just sit on the back porch steps and talk...in our PJ's.
Or climb through the trees.

One night we had a pizza and movie night while Daddy and Mason went skeet shooting.

He is a big boy about getting his haircut and sits there quietly until Leianne is finished.
He was my right hand man when it came to taking care of the fair chickens during the day.

He loves to have playdates, although he still just parallel plays. He was riding Tice's tractor in the picture below.
We took a trip to visit Aunt Beth who is in a nursing home in Houston. He brightened her day, along with many nurses and patients at the facility!
He has had some allergy/asthma/sinus issues lately and has gotten pretty used to the breathing treatments. He even wanted to do it himself this time!
He likes the occasional bounce on the trampoline. But first he has to sweep it off!

He loves to read books. As soon as I finish one book he either says "again" or "anothers book" (he adds an "s" to lots of words). This guy fills my day with laughter and joy. God knew what he was doing when he gave us our bonus baby! Love him to pieces!

BFF reunion

When we went to Austin for Heather's baby shower we had our bi-annual visit with my BFF and her kids. We have been friends since 7th grade and even though we can go months without talking, the second we get together it's like it we were never apart. Her oldest is a little older then Mason and her youngest is a little older then Alex. I love how well the kids play together for only seeing each other twice a year. We always get a picture of the kids but we never get one of us. I told Teresa I was going to have to dig in the printed out archive pics. She said she was fine with that because we were much skinnier then! But check out the eye brows I had going on! That must have been before I discovered the eye brow wax! This picture was taken when we went to watch A&M play at the Sugar Bowl...pre-husbands and kids!Sorry for the poor quality but it's a scan of a print out!

Sweet kids!

Backyard fun

We had a short playdate with Natalie and Tice this morning. I swear Mason was there too but he was always on the move so I didn't get a picture of him. There is so much to do in their backyard! The sand table, seesaw and swings were a hit. The mosquitoes, not so much! :) I must have some super sweet boys! (cough, choke!) :)

Lost Pines

Last weekend we went on a board retreat with Andy's company to Lost Pines in Bastrop. We had a blast! There is so much to do! We were there from Thursday to Sunday and still didn't do half of the things there!
Alex and Austin walking to our room in their matching shorts!
Each night you can roast smores around this huge fire pit. Yum!

Walking down to the Colorado river

A view of a portion of the hotel. It's very spread out. There are many "wings". We were told it's so spread out because they were trying to avoid cutting down trees. They only cut down 4 trees (pecan) to build the entire hotel. They took those trees to the mill and used the wood for the floors in the lobby.

Excuse the fogged up lens but this was the view from our balcony. We overlooked the "Butterfly Meadow".

Looking at our rooms from the entrance of the butterfly garden.

Austin's favorite part was all of the animals. There were longhorns, miniature horses, donkeys, alpacas, and full size horses.

We were so spoiled and got to have two rooms. It was nice to have the extra space! Pic of the kids room.

We ate lots of junk (powdered sugar donuts for breakfast!).

The pool was the best. I didn't get pictures of the main pools, beach or lazy river, but they were so much fun!

They had an indoor activity room that was awesome! They had a huge jump house, ping pong, bowling, movies, board games, life size connect 4 and life size legos.

We rode a horse drawn carriage.

We rode a kiddie train. The big boys took one for the team!

We watched a horse get some new shoes!

We rented bikes to ride. I am out of shape!

Austin rode the fake horse in the lobby!

Rumor has it we get to go back next summer too!Yippee!

Pville Park

The boys had to make their usual trip to the park while we were in Pville. I decided to tag along and take some pictures of the fun. Austin can climb the stairs and go down the slide all by himself. He had so much fun!

When you are too old for the playscape, you have to get creative on how to make it fun! They were standing on top of the playscape.

High five for getting up the stairs by yourself!

WHEEEEEEE!

It was HOT, so the boys wanted to put their feet in the water. Lucky decided to lay down!

Big shot!

Last week the boys got their haircut and Leianne put blue gel in Alex's hair. He thought it was the coolest thing ever and wanted me to buy some. He settled for blue hairspray. We are still working on the technique of spraying it more evenly! But it definitely looks cool!
