We left San Francisco on Wednesday afternoon (around 2:00) and drove to Anaheim. With traffic, rain, curvy roads and several stops for food and restroom breaks we ended up getting to our hotel at 12:30am! Our hotel was right across the street from the main gate of Disneyland so we were excited about that! We got up at 6:30 the next morning to eat the continental breakfast our hotel served and head to the park. We did California Adventure park Thursday. The new Cars Land is in California Adventure. The Radiator Springs ride was the most popular and hyped up ride. We waited in line (at 8am) for 45 minutes to get a fast pass. Our fast pass time to return was 3:30 that afternoon! We got there at 3:30 and the ride had a power failure so they told us to keep checking back. We finally rode it around 5:30. We didn't think it measured up to all the hype. Our favorite ride in Ca Adventure was Grizzly Bear Mountain. It was a water ride that was really fun. We probably rode that 6 times. They also had a cool ride called Soaring over CA. You feel like you are in a hang glider soaring over the state. That night we went to see the World of Color light and water show. It started at 10:15 and after a day of walking, sweating, and repeating both we were exhausted. But the show was definitely worth it. It's amazing what Disney can do!
Friday we spent the day at Disneyland park. Between the two parks we definitely loved Disneyland the best. Our favorite family ride was Thunder Mountain Railroad. It was a roller coaster ride. Our next favorite was Splash Mountain (water/roller coaster ride). We were able to use the fast pass system pretty successfully and rode a ton of rides that day. We found out pretty quickly that Mason is an adrenaline junky!! He LOVED anything fast and scary. He even rode space mountain twice (with Andy)! That night we watched the firework show at Disneyland. We spent two very long days at Disney but they were so worth it! Even I have a new appreciation for roller coasters! My dad would be proud! We were sad to leave CA Saturday but SO ready to see our baby Austin!
We got back home around 11pm Saturday. Austin had gone to sleep around 9 so I was sad we wouldn't be able to see him until the morning. But something woke him up around 10 and he was still awake when we got home! We all attacked him with hugs and kisses! It was definitely a great trip. Here are a few pics.
