new year's eve

 Happy New Year's Eve!

I'm feeling [20]22 ooo oooooo! We had Taylor Swift on repeat as our soundtrack to New Year's Eve fun for the kids before the adults head out to celebrate with friends [click here].

I love to stoke their competitive spirits [click here].

We switched up the game after a bit.

Cheers, cuties!

The countdown...at 7pm. Thank you, Netflix! [click here]

NYE 5-course wine pairing dinner at Eclectic Bistro.

After dinner we headed out to a party at the Ragan Ranch. Caleb used to work with Chris and I know Sofia from the gym. They were such gracious hosts and the expansiveness of their property (newly renovated home, huge barn they rent out for parties, roping arena with seating, etc) blew our minds.

Thanks to Cadyn for watching the boys this evening. She felt very strongly about staying up until midnight, so Caleb and I were sure to be home juuuust beforehand so we could do a proper new year countdown and clink with our sweet girl. So memorable!

Our Instagram Top 9 summed up 2021 pretty well highlighting health and wellness, celebrating milestones, enjoying travel, supporting science and vaccines, incredible loss, and lots of love woven through it all.❤

december days

 December days...

Juuuust a bit small.☺

Practicing his letters.

The four wheeler is back up and running just in time for sledding right around the corner.

Girl Scouts fall sales delivery time.

Helping watch our cute neighbor boys, Chan and Creighton.

A Cosmo photo shoot to try to get a few good pictures for a Christmas project for the kids.

When one gets home from work and has to power wash the goo off the clothes one had to change out of at work, it was a rough day.

Chess lessons.

Cadyn, Morgan, and the rest of her classmates from last year were asked by their new school counselor to be a part of he and their former 5th grade teacher's surprise engagement at the ice skating arena. They were super excited and thought the whole thing was SO sweet!

Congrats to Ms. Bradshaw and Mr. Jenkins!

This particular day Tegan was SO patient and sweet trying to teach Cam chess [click here]. Trust me, their interactions aren't always like this, so it makes my mama heart nearly burst to see it.

It was a great day in Garden City shopping, eating at the brewery, and finishing up with a fun Alice in Wonderland escape room.

Caleb and Cadyn stayed up late and snuck out to watch the meteor shower from a nearby field. They sky gazed and talked for over 1 1/2 hours.❤

More hanging with the neighbors.

'Hood hangouts.

On weekend mornings we have a family snuggle in our bed. Often times it turns to the boys and Daddy wrestling. This particular morning the boys figured out if they turn the ceiling fan up to high and throw their sticky feet wall-walking men from the Advent calendar up at it, they become fast-shooting weapons across the room [click here]. It. was. hilarious.

Neighbor Christian's birthday party.

He doesn't go anywhere without his new tool set.

Scholastic Book Club gift cards from Grammy Nita.

An apology letter from Porter. We're all working hard to give grace and raise these kids right.

Putting his new grill accessories to good use.

Babysitter's band.

The week between Christmas and New Year's = good, bad, weird, long, short, precious, annoying...all the words. Ours included sleeping in, plenty of playing, creating, baking, outdoors, family game nights, individual kid/parent dates, snuggling, and a whole lot of recharging.

Weirdo.

I found them like this thirty minutes after they were tucked in for bed, which I kind of love...only over break though.☺

This comfy robe might be his current most coveted item.

So many highs and lows this December. As we close out this year we are more thankful than ever for loved ones, treasured memories, science, the ability to travel, our health, and much more. May our family continue to have the perspective to enjoy it all, live in the moment, and take care of one another.
