new year's eve

Our New Year's Eve was pretty low key this year. We spent the day hanging out and watching college football bowl games.

We had breakfast for dinner, which is always a family favorite. Cam was my big helper with eggs.

Game night with Ticket to Ride Junior and Avengers UNO filled our evening. At around 8pm we had some fun with accessories Caleb picked up at the store.

Our last game was Cadyn's new one from Gigi and Papa, Eye Found It. Fun for all ages.

Finally, the kids showed off their dance moves after their 9:30pm Netflix countdown.

Caleb and I rang in the new year sharing a bottle of champagne while flipping between New Year's Times Square coverage and the movie Bird Box.

Cheers to a happy, healthy, + intentional 2019!

bowling + sleepover

Cadyn requested a sleepover with Lahnaya and Mary Ann over break. I couldn't get the girls' schedules to match up, so this is sleepover number 1 of 2.

After a fun few hours at the house, we went bowling.

Cadyn and Lahnaya are in the same class in school and Mrs. O'Brien gave them an assignment over break to take their gingerbread people on at least five adventures and keep a journal about them. This was the perfect opportunity to bring Cindy and Ginger along.

It is a toss up as to if bowling or the game room and coin machines are more fun.

After a movie with the boys, the girls snuggled up in bed.

Fun times!

december days

December days...

Tegan has really wanted to help Cam lately, even with his nighttime Pull Up.

Ashley's baby shower was a fun way to kick off the month. Baby boy Shetler #2 is expected to arrive mid-January.

Operation with JJ and Gage.

Another fun play date with Nathan.

After Girl Scout meeting hugs with Mary Ann.

Tegan and I working on this family art project for school.

These sheets came home from school with a little bit of Cadyn's heart on them.❤

Ornaments painted at Cadyn's Girl Scouts meeting.

A fun (and extensive) book report project that Cadyn was very proud of. Her teacher certainly liked her work as well; it came back with an A+ and a request for Mrs. O'Brien to keep it to show future classes as a reference.

Such a thoughtful package from Brooklyn.

The Lego Advent calendars from Brooklyn kept the big kids busy all month long.

He's still keeping quite occupied with his bean bin.

JJ is Spiderman.

Caleb and I got to join Tegan in class one morning for a Bring Your Parents to School event.

Posing with his classroom elf, Fred. Can you find him?

December trivia night was at Prime on the Nine and the food did not disappoint. Luke, in town on business, joined us for this round.

Sunday morning snuggles (?) with Daddy.

The progression of Teegs trying a lemon is pretty funny.

I get such a kick out of Cadyn's cards.❤

Tegan is getting the hang of writing cards as well.

Wrapping his sister's gift.

A great holiday book in the mail from Grandma Joni and Grandpa Kurt.

Me: Camden don't touch the eggs.

Cam had a nice play date with Jack while I volunteered at the kids' school.

Tegan's Cub Scouts holiday party at The Alley.

So stoked to get more belt clips recognition, a pinewood derby kit, and his Lego Star Wars award for selling popcorn.

Delicious cookies from neighbors Kathy and Steve.

Every day after getting home from school they would check under the tree for new gifts.

Root beer floats!

Lots of snuggle time with this one, who was under the weather for a couple of days.

Enjoying cookies from the Presley boys.

I'm so grateful I get to spend my afternoons this way.

Fresh out of the salon.

Giddy over his Live Pets turtles from his preschool gift exchange.

Another day, another snuggle fest.

Each kid at Ross Elementary got to pick out a toy on the last day before break. Tegan is just over the moon about this mini guitar.

Wrestling (above) and forts (below) are their lives.

Lisa sent godparents gifts, new Hallmark ornaments, and the kids were so excited to hang them on their individual trees.

Back from Christmas in Nebraska and diving into all the toys, etc. Note to self for next year: yes, the kids love dig kits, but they are FREAKING ENDLESSLY MESSY.

Much like after Thanksgiving, we got back from Christmas just in time to avoid snow on our trip home. Tons of rain, but no snow. This is the two inches of snow that arrived on December 27th. Incidentally, Garden City (only 50 minutes west) got eighteen inches of snow. Whoa.

It is crazy she used to fit in the palm of his hand. *sob*

My Instagram Top 9 of 2018.

Funnies this month:

Camden: Look Mommy there's a kitty (across the street).
Me: Oh, he's so cute.
Camden: (as the cat darts over to the next lawn) Do you think he is going to visit his aunt's house?

Cadyn: (playing Would You Rather at bedtime) Mommy, would you rather wear pink or grey for the rest of your life?
Me: Absolutely, 100% grey.
Cadyn: (visibly dejected) That's makes me really sad.

Camden: Mommy, when do you think God will make us more snow?❤
