Graham is talking a lot these days, and I'm trying, trying to record somehow all the funny things he says, as I know his patterns and habits will change, like, today. So, for the history books:
"I want to be happy"- said when he is very sad
"Mama naked"- whenever anything, like a sock, is taken off- this is a symptom of the winter, I think.
"Molly tail is happy"- anytime he notices her tail.
"Play and eat"- when asked what he wants to do on any given day (seriously)
"rice and beans" - when asked what he wants to eat, every time (thanks to his lovely Domenican care giver)
"I want treat"- whenever we pass the bakery, so just about every morning
He also has started creating his own narratives, which is really fun to watch. There are, for example, 3 small plastic pirates that Jen named Bob, Ted, and Bill. These guys now have awesome adventures sometimes involving a ship, but not always; they hang out in gas stations, train stations, and on fire trucks as well. He also has created a big world out of an old hand me down plastic farm and a bunch of animals.
Best of all, Graham has started knowing his favorite story books line by line. This seems particularly to be the case for Dr. Seuss books. We're trying to capture him reciting lines of "Green Eggs and Ham" to post here.
And, finally, he's picking up a lot of Spanish at daycare. The other day, as I dropped him off, Lissette asked him a question and he answered with a few words in ANOTHER LANGUAGE. It floored me. Now, of course, she could have been asking him to get ready for his morning heroin, but it's cool all the same.
Again, remember that Graham spoke barely at all as of September. Language acquisition is really amazing.
