Pumpkin Patch

When I was a kid, every year we went to a pumpkin patch to pick a few out and, more importantly, get our pictures taken. I don't know what it is about kids, overalls, pumpkins, and dirt, but these photos of Graham are like a cuteness explosion.

Ps. Dad, if you're out there, these pictures are especially for you!

Lunch with Graham

G's mad, mad eating skills continue to develop at lightening speed this week. Yesterday, lunch was sweet potato sticks, blueberries, and cottage cheese.

Dinner? stir fried tofu, broccoli, and rice
Breakfast today? Yogurt, toast, and a banana. And I mean a whole banana.

Food Update

This week Graham decided that he was done with baby food- you know, the pureed stuff that comes in jars. He'll do his best to knock the spoon out of your hands.

He now wants what we eat (in gnawable pieces of course). So tonight we had chicken with butter, garlic, capers, tomatoes, onion, and white wine. He loved it! Please remind us of this golden age when, at age 3, he refuses to eat anything but ketchup.

Fourtooth and seven days ago...

We've had another spate of sleep interruptions this week. We think the culprit is the FOUR (count 'em) teeth that have all broken through the gums at the same time. That's right, readers. G now has both incisors and the two front teeth (only visible as weird nubs, but there). Once these things grow all the way in, he'll look absolutely like a big kid. Why he had to pop all four of them at one time, I dunna know.

Pictures soon!

What we do now...

stand
open drawers
open cabinets
stand
find whatever is dangerous. Play with it.
stand
push things while standing. (Chairs, trash cans, whatever will move across the floor)
attempt to climb the parents. (see below)

Absentee Blogger

Sorry, Sorry for the lack of G-photos. It's been a tough coupla weeks here at DailyGraham central. Both parents are now back at work full-time; To add to the madness, Jen, G, and the dog (for christsakes) have been sick. As the only fully functioning (maybe) adult, it's been a tough ride.

Halloween???

What should Graham be for Halloween? We've no real ideas. We had thought- hey, a goose would be a great costume, but we haven't been able to find one. A stipulation: G really dislikes hats right now, so it's gotta be something that will be cute even without it.

In other news:

Graham is getting better and better at standing and walking around (assisted by furniture, of course). We still haven't babyproofed, so his noggin has some excellent bruises and scrapes as well.

Also: suddenly, he's very conversational. He'll sit and chatter (lots of D's and G's) for a while with anyone willing to listen.

Our Chicago friends took these pictures while were there two weeks ago. Can you imagine the mischief these two will make when they can both walk?

9 Months!

As I attempt to type this entry, my now totally mobile son is crawling on and around me, trying to get to the cat on my other side. G can now pull up to a stand and shuffle around if supported by something (wall, furniture, um, radiator). He likes to explore things, less so now with his mouth, more with his hands. He's growing hair (reddish blond?) and when he wakes up it sticks straight off his head. He is, in other words, becoming a boy. This change makes me a little sad (my baby!), a little nervous (how will I prevent the stitches? How?), and a lot excited for the fall.

Here's a photo. This shot captures the aftermath of a trip to his grandmother's garden, during which he crawled around and tried to eat tomatoes.

In case we don't get to posting tomorrow, we want to wish Elliot Harvey a happy first birthday. Have a great one, little plum!
