Sayonara Year 2009, Gambate Year 2010

I can't believe is going to be end of this year.  So many things happened in my life, some good, some bad, some are just funny and lame. =)

I am actually still having the Christmas mood though, but in less than 3 days is going to be New Year. I am so excited cos me and my fiance will be meeting up some friends to go NY Countdown at Esplanade watching the fireworks and to put our photography skills to good use.

I will be counting down to my 4th Anniversary with my fiance (20th Jan), Chinese New Year which is also a Valentine's Day (14th Feb), my birthday which is few days after, to complete my tooth implant and also the gown fittings for my wedding photoshoot which is in March. After all that we will be damn busy preparing for our wedding which is in June.  It seems kinda far away but in actual fact we do not have much time left and yet so many things need to be done.  We are going to be stress out, man!  LOL but it will be fun and also the thought about not able to get ang baos anymore after our wedding.. LOL.. Geezzz  ..hmmm =P

I am also thinking abt updating my wardrobe for the Year 2010 fashion trends.  I do not follow them blindly, I love to mix and match and find the styles that suits me best and also I will find ways to update them so I do not look like I am stuck in a time zone of a different era, hahahaha.  Some magazines are already having January 2010 issue out, I bought a few and browse to get some ideas and also to see if I can still achieve the styles with what I already have in my wardrobe.  That's when the classic pieces comes in, they never go out of style.  More mileage, more value for money.   Be it clothes, shoes or bags, makeup, etc... I don own much branded stuffs either, I have none authentic LV or Gucci and seriously I do not care if people are pointing at me for carrying a fake one.  I am not ashame =) .  Ultimately is how you piece the whole look together, that is what a smart fashion-savy frugalista will do.   Look like a million dollars without breaking your bank account.  Phua Chu Kang will tell you :  Use your brain, use your brain! Don pray, pray ! (play, play).

So all my dear friends, male or female, young or old, a brand new year is coming.  Time to make a change and improve your life, do whatever you want (almost), try something new.  New haircut, new clothes/shoes/bags/accessories (this is a must for all ladies!), new hobby, new job, new GF/BF or new husband or wife.. LOL... this one is a joke lah.. of cos I seriously hope those who are attached stay happy forever lah, right ! haha!  So many new things and positive changes to look forward for the coming new year.  Forget abt the sorrow, sadness and the negative and unhappy memories and move on !  HUAT AHHHHH !!!!

This will be my last entry for Year 2009.  Welcoming the New Year and the Year of the Tiger... ROARRR !

Beginning of December...

Last Saturday (5th Dec), went for a 3D movie with beloved bf @ Vivocity, A Christmas Carol.  I just love 3D movies.  All the special effects come alive right before your eyes and you can't help but go ohhhh and ahhhh.   Walt Disney 3D movies never fail to amaze me even though I am already an old kid, ha ha ha !  So after the movie, as usual had dinner at Sakae Sushi @ Harbourfront.  We ordered sashimi, chawanmushi, salmon don, one veggie delight paper hot pot soup to share and also edamame.  I love the paper hot pot soup cos it can warm you up, just nice for this cold weather... oohhhhh.   And I suddenly remembered one incident which I went to Sakae Sushi at TBP, me and my friend ordered the paper hot pot soup too and were eating happily until the paper caught fire!  I tried to blow out the fire with little success but luckily one of the staff saw it and he quickly take a glass and put out the small fire. LOL.. I am laughing cos when I think back is quite funny actually.  Well, no harm done, don't worry.

Ok back to Saturday's story, after the dinner me and my beloved bf walked to the.........cashier to pay for our food.  HAHAHAHAHA ~  What ?!  After eating of cos have to pay lah.. like I said is not FOC.  Well, we did went somewhere else... we went home and rest as next day is his cousin's wedding and that basically sum up my Saturday.

Food Diary - Waffins - Waffles & Muffins

You cannot imagine how thrilled I am when I finally had the chance to try out this new stall called Waffins, near my place.  They sell freshly made waffles and muffins. Actually they have been there for a few months.

Last night (2nd Dec), after our very sinful Botak Jones dinner (well, to me is sinful cos I m supposed to be on diet lah)... I decided to try out the waffles..the smell is too irrresistable liao !!  So I psycho-ed my bf to share a waffles with me. I had wanted to try the Cheesy Honey but is sold out for the day.  So I ordered the Old Skool '' Goo Yu'', which was recommend by the guy at the stall (which I later found out is the Boss) it has maple syrup, melted icing sugar and butter, damned is both heavenly and sinful !!!  And the waffles is spongy and taste great BUT is best if you eat it while is still hot.   No pic of that cos I was so engrossed in eating !  

When I woke up this morning (3rd Dec), I am still thinking about Waffins.  So I washed up and went down around 10 am, the stall had just open for business and I saw a girl preparing the waffle mix and also arranging the muffins, oh my gawdddd, the smell ..Mmmmmm ~  I ordered a Peanut butter waffles and a Cheese & Pumpkin seeds muffin which I share with my younger brother.  The girl told me that the guy I saw last night was the Boss, Mr. Koon.  I thought is her brother , how embarrassing !! hahaha.  The crowds are staff from nearby offices and warehouses/factories. Some of their items from what I understand, are available from lunch time onwards.  So I guess you got to check with them.  You can have them takeaway as well.

What A Price of A Cheap Mattress Can Get You.......

'' Those who are not my enemies are my friends '' I will always remember this sentence that she told me in msn.

Seriously I felt so stupid and naive when I think back how I offer her a helping hand when she attempted to run away from her husband house. I even ask my bf to buy extra mattress for her..so she can stay at my place for a few days. I helped her with no qns asked and NOT expecting any favour in return. In the end she still go back to her husband and dat extra mattress is still lying in my store room collecting dust. How ironical. We used to be so close. And now becos of those mother fuckers, she chose to be friends with them even when she was also a victim of their politics. Therefore we drifted apart.

There is even one time , I saw from her FB status she was in hopsital, i sms her to show i still care. And guess wat was the response? She replied me and asked how I knew abt it. It makes me feel that I am not supposed to know. I actually thought of visiting her but I guess she don't need me to. She moved to her new house recently BUT I m NOT going for housewarming and I know she won't ask me to go either. Good for me also, save on transport cos the new place is so fucking far anyway..

The reason why I am writing all these now is that is becos is been kept inside my heart for too long. I want to let her know that I am NOT the one who let her down. She did helped me when I need it and I helped her when she need it. We don't owe each other anything anymore. I have no regrets at all.

I already can visualize how those mother fuckers will come and tell you, if they knew abt what I wrote..asking you don't care lah, saying I never repent, accusing me of things I never do, blah, blah, blah. They might insult me also who knows...is so fucking typical of them.

It doesn't take much to know how worthy a friend is. Being too good to someone comes with a price and I paid alot before....but this time round is a price of a cheap mattress. Super discount.

Cold weather + Topshop goes hand in hand....

I am really loving the cold weather now as I will have a reason to wear all my nice sweaters, cardigans, all my cute design tights and my boots !  hahaha =D  .  U will be surprised that Singapore actually do have cold season, though is rather rare.  I love end of the year period.

These days I am busy with lots of things.  Preparing for my ROM and wedding, and also keeping my weight check, so i can fit into my wedding gowns better .. LOL.  Busy playing games in Facebook, Twittering..etc.  I love reading fashion blogs and also keep track of the latest trends.  I have a few wedding dinners to attend too.  Haiz.. times flies and Christmas is just next month !  I am thinking what to get for my fiance.  I wanted to DIY some thing for him but I m not opting for food item though. Well,  I still have time to think and source for it.

Talk about tights/stockings, I recently purchase 2 pairs from Topshop @ Vivocity and I used my F3 discount card for a discount (obviously).  Woohoo ~  One is a footless rose black lace design and another is a full length black with pink hearts all over and is my fave one.  I tried it on when I m home and I was gushing like a little girl cos it was uber cute ~  I will try to post pic of me wearing it soon =D . And also I really want to compliment the sales assistant name Ira (she is a malay girl), I think she is very young.  She was uber helpful and patience and I mean really patience, cos I was at the section where Topshop stock all the bags, scarves and tights/stockings and I had a hard time choosing.  All were sooooo nice, and I want to buy them all.. damned.  This girl came over and ask if I needed help and I said yes... so she start to recommend me the designs that are quite popular and also unique ones... I think I was there close to 1 hr.  I don't really remember but it sure felt like I was there forever !   Finally I bought the 2 pairs that I mentioned earlier.  My BFF was with me and boy, was she glad that I found what I want...I am a happy girl =D ~

My BFF will be leaving for her Korea trip soon, lucky her.  She can enjoy the snow, the kimchi and all the nice warm food.  And she said she will buy facial masks for me and cute stuffs . haha.. I told her to bring Rain (popular Korean singer and actor) back with her and she said she will try lah... she really know how to humour me eh.. LOL.  When she is back from her trip, we are planning to watch a new movie coming out next month, 风云 2 , starring Ekin Cheng and Aaron Kwok together with my fiance as both of them idolize Aaron Kwok. As for me, I just love such movies.

WTF, suddenly feeling hungry...I think I will go and have a warm shower and make myself a glass of warm low fat milk and sleep soon...  I will update again... tata peeps ~~

When Words Are Not Enough.....

Hello peeps ~  I am back again =).

I believe some of you might know that I signed up for a slimming package and had regular treatments.  Most of the time, after my appointment is already dinner hour and I would sometimes dine alone at Sakae Sushi @ Icon Village (behind Amara Hotel). 

I really love that outlet alot cos even though is dinner time, is never crowded, whether is weekdays or weekends and I really like the atmosphere. Very relaxing, I can take my own sweet time to eat and I really love their sashimi, and now they have this 1-for-1 red plate which you can have to a maximum of 3 red plates, which means you can have up to 6 red plates but for the price of  3 red plates !!  Needless to say I make use of this offer and had a very sumptious dinner all by myself ..WAHAHAHAHAHA ~~

This promotion is only applicable if you have a Sakae Sushi member card or if you have a credit card, I don't remember which credit card, Ooops, but IF I remember correctly , Citibank credit card entitles you to this offer too.  Please do double check with the outlet before you place order, OK ??  I do not want to be accuse of giving false information.

 

Okay back to the food.... You won't believe how much I paid for the recent dinner I had last Wedensday, 4th Nov. 

 

I had 2 color plates of Edamame, 2 red plates of Salmon sashimi, 2 red plates of Maguro , 1 red plate of seasoned Seaweed and 1 red plate of  Lobster salad and 1 complimentary hot green tea !!!  That is a total of about $25 (incl. GST) and after using the Sakae dollars for rebate, I only paid around $6 !!  Madness, man !!  Less than half price OK !!  Imagine you go with you friends, even though you can't have more than 3 red plates, but with the Sakae member card, you still get to save. Other places do not have such special loyalty programme for customers.  Pleaaseeeeee go and join as a Sakae Sushi member, pleaseeeeee !   You definitely can save money and still get to fill your stomach.  Like the Hokkien saying :  Mai hiam buay pai !!  (simple translation: If u are not choosy, it is not bad at all).

Happy Halloween

Hello peeps !  Halloween is here again.  A lot of people will be dressing up and have lots of fun partying and scaring people, hahahahaha !

I had a early Halloween scare at the SG Flyer last Saturday... my fiance and me met up another couple to attend a wedding show at the MEGU Events hall.  FOC ~  We had a 4 course fine dining dinner and buffet style desserts.... Damn sinful !  haha , but nvm.. I still try very hard to eat in moderation as I am on diet  , hee hee.  I did not take much pictures of the food we had... cause I wanna concentrate on eating !  Before the event starts, we saw people dress up as ghosts and monsters and allowing photo taking.  After the wedding show, me and my friend go crazy.. we grab them to take pictures with us.. LOL... it was fun.. at least I celebrated Halloween although is not on the actual day.

I am lazy to type too many words already, I shall let the pictures speak for itself.  Pardon for the lousy quality pics, they are not taken by me, I have much better skills.. OOPS.. LOL...

Birthday Outing with darling BFF :)

Now the time is 1.04 a.m.  I should have written this post much, much earlier... so ok I have been procrasinating.  Damn lazy lah !  (>,<).. Any way here some updates on recent acitivities.

Met my darling BFF yesterday (15 Oct) to celebrate her b'day, finally she is in the 30s club..ha ha ha .. oops =P .  We went for a Gold Class movie @ GV Vivocity, watched Julie  & Julia, her treat .. hee hee.  I am so fascinated by the movie and I suddenly had the urge to stop my diet plan I had and gorge myself silly !  Mmmm.. yummy.. looking at Julie Powell's cooking all the recipes found in Julia Child's cookbook makes me very hungry, and no,  I am not going to type anything more and be the spoiler.  But one thing I can tell you,  is the movie is not just about cooking, it also teaches you the philosophy of life, being optimistic and think positive, teaches you how to love...etc.  You can learn so much from these two women. GO WATCH IT in the cinema =D ! Is definitely worth your $$  *thumbs up*

After the movie, we went shopping !  Gagagaga ~  darling BFF shopped and I window-shopped and yes, some of the window displays are so fantastic I wanna bring'em home with me and make it a part of my room.. hahahaha =D.  Of cos, I can't do that due to insufficient square feet and simply because my room is not Pet Society or Restaurant City (games in Facebook); I can't just level up and abracadabra, I have a bigger space..yeah right in my dreams.. *dreams*  (+,+)''. 

Next we had our dinner @ Sakae Sushi in Harbourfront and we total paid less than $8, as most of the bill was paid by the $20 voucher I received.  What a nice deal !  See what we ordered below.

I am so happy that some of the things I mentioned in my previous post are more or less fulfilled.. LOL :)

I manage to go Standing Sushi Bar at Raffles Place for dinner with a long time friend yesterday !  Woohoo uber happy. And I get to talk to the boss, Howard Lo.  He helped to make reservation for our seats via Twitter.com .  No pics taken with him.. cos he was busy and I m kinda shy to ask.. LOL.  But you all should really go and try the food there .. is certainly value for money and you won't regret it !  =D Enough said !  Below are pictures.

This Saturday, 3rd Oct 2009 is Mid Autumn Festival here in Singapore and I had bought my mooncakes from Polar Cakes and Puff.  This year they have the Hello Kitty Mooncakes and it comes with a limited Hello Kitty Lantern.  Sooo cute ! Thanks to my loving bf !

It is also my bf's cousin's wedding dinner, wow.. it really is a fantastic night tomorrow.  I am still adding the finishing touches to my outfit and also deciding how my make up shld be like.. i am thinking of playing up my eyes.. since they are my best features =D .. I am so vain.  Since I am born as a woman, it will be such a waste if I do not know how to doll up myself.  Not only for my partner to see and also it will make myself feel good, too.

Everything is back to normal... more or less

Good news ! My mum is back from hospital..I am so relieved. At least she is at home now, I do not have to worry too much.

Now I have many things to look forward to. I wanna try new food.. haha..I am on diet but as long as is in moderation should be OK =D. I wanna try the new Pringles flavour of potato chips and also wanna go and eat at a new sushi place call Standing Sushi Bar @ Raffles Place.

I need to attend my bf's cousin's wedding dinner next mth and I really need to control what I eat :(.. no choice ..Haizz

And also next mth, I have a friend who is having her b'day and we are going to Sentosa for a relaxing day. I am gonna discuss with her abt packing our own meals , like having a picnic =D .. we can have healthy food like sandwiches, salad , etc. And also my Pringles Prawn cocktail potato chips ! HAHAHA.. I know is not healthy food but I am sharing with her ..so is OK :P ..IF we are lazy, which we probably will, we will buy food there .. LOL . Since we will be at the beach area, we can see guys too.. hmmm nice.. LOL ..provided there are any as is a weekday ... not so crowded I guess

Well, I will slowly countdown to the days.... can't wait ! =D

No mood... =(

I know some of you are concern abt me being unemployed now, that's why u all bother to advice me. I really appreciate it. Really I do.

But my present situation, I cannot focus on other things, as u all know that my mum is in hospital and she had a emergency surgery. Is NOT pre-planned. Even though she is not critical now, but she need ppl to look after her. She is very weak and she keep telling us she is very scared in the hospital. I don't even know when she can be discharge as she is still in Surgical ICU under observation. How can I still focus on other things ? I am really very tired, mentally and physically....

So whatever you all advice me right now, I cannot do anything. Is not that I am not willing to accept your suggestions, I really cannot do anything at the moment.

Please don't compare me with other people who had similar situation, what they went thru will never be the same as mine. So what they did, may not necessary work for me, u know ?

Nonetheless, I still appreciate your concern, suggestions & advice. Do not feel offended by what I said here, I am not complaing or being whiney. If some of you want to interpret it this way, I apologise. But I do not mean it that way. I just want you all to understand my situation now & is beyond my control...

For this season, there is still a hint of Rock 'n' Roll element shown every where as designers are incorporating it into their clothes, accessories , etc for the A/W 2009. I m not someone who goes after brand, though I don't deny that I wish can own one. But being a fickle-minded person, I can never use or wear something continuously. I tend to change my taste from time to time, even if I am using my fave bag or wear my fave clothes, is always never a long term relationship.. ha ha ha. But one thing for sure, I will still use or wear them, till they are no longer in good condition.

I really love the smokey eyes look simply becos it accentuates my eyes as they are my best feature .. LOL =D .

Sometimes when I was out walking on the streets, I see a lot of 'mistakes'. Those who are starting to experiment with make up , please go and seek expert's advice. It could be your (trendy) friend or a REAL expert. You can go to your fave brand make up counter in department stores and ask for FOC advice, most will be happy to show you the ways. Just ask politely and if any case the staff is rude, complain !! LOL .. whether you are buying or not; that's secondary, primary concern is you have to understand their products before making a decision anyway =D !

As for clothes, you can read local magazines to have a rough idea and find what works for you, in terms of the cutting, materials and colours. All these factors have different effects on how you look. If you really don't have spare cash for magazines, window shopping is not a bad option and ask sales girl for help and try on clothes is FOC too, ha ha .... Ya is a very cheapskate or cheapo way BUT is your own money, you can decide how you wanna spend it or save it ! =D

If the items you like is way out of your budget, look for alternatives but still keep to the style, you know what I mean ??

Bottom line, you can still look a million dollars even if you do not have a million dollars. Go on and experiment, girls !!
