Well, start to talk about my results...nothing surprising, but EE2001 disappointed me. i only got B+ for it, which is definitely not proportional to the efforts that i have put in. well maybe the examiner is right, there are not enough features. but i think that's not all our fault, cuz our GA really cannot make it and he didn't tell us we should have added more features. he should be monitoring us, but all he did was come to the lab every week, and say "everything ok? dun worry". what the hell... and EE2001 is a 6MC module... and as a result my cap drop below 4.8...a bit sad but bo bian. somehow i am not so saddened by results anymore :P
EE3207 (Computer Architecture) was an A, well sort of expected that, but then it can still go down to B+ cuz the TayTT gives A to top 30% then straight below is B+ and below... so there's still a slight chance that i would have gotten a B+, given that our project was not the top notch, but still a good one.
EE3204 (Comp Networks I) was an A+ :p good, given that my effort for it was significantly lesser this semester. but i did study for my tests and exams, and strived to understand thoroughly, which contributes to all my As and A+'s in the 5 sems of NUS.
EG2401 (Engin Proff) is B+. well, quite ok lah, cannot expect much for an essay-based module.
GEK2001 (Changing Landscapes of Spore) is also B+ but i S/Ued it. a bit surprised, cuz project got B only lol. maybe my essay skills not that bad at all :P
ok end of results, talk about ytd. ytd, was my mum's bdae. we went pearl rivers at suntec convention for dinner, ala carte buffet. the waiting time for food at the start was frustrating, dunno why. but it got much better from the 3-4th dish onwards. food was quite ok. but then actually i still prefer to eat ala carte w/o buffet, cuz we get better service better food for the amount of money we pay. we paid near 400 for 7 persons, my family + dear + kirana. unless u can eat alot, advise not to go lah. unless u are ok with service lapses, advise not to go lah.
but then food was ok. the mini buddha jump over the wall not bad. soup quite nice. there's this wasabe prawns also not bad :p not too 呛, u can always follow my youngest bro put the whole prawn in lol. but not advisable lah, cuz i think will still 呛. i didn't dare to try, i eat half by half =X
had a quite christmas eve. mini bbq session at home, with dear and family. tested out the new bbq set that i have bought for home fix for 300 plus lol. simple idea but effective, no need to fan the fire lol. can ask me abt it if u wan :P
ytd afternoon went to run 2.4km. cui-ed. 12.50 so slow. die liao. i hope to pass IPPT by end Jan. but can lah. that time i train 2 wks down to below 12 liao lol. worry abt SBJ though lol. train more train more!
christmas day, took whole day of public transport :) went to orchard road, see see look look. watch bedtime stories. damn cute the movie, quite special lol.
post christmas day 26th, met up with my tchs erhu mates for a gathering cuz 3 of them are leaving for SEP soon. me also leaving soon... the 2 medicine guys are graduating soon, wish them well :) pls do have integrity when u become a doctor, dun be the kuku doctor that my uncle had that caused him loss of money, time, and most importantly, torture to the health. then in the evening i went to find dear. ate at her house lol. then we watched IP MAN! nice show. i like the spirit behind the main lead, ye wen. and my dear, somehow cried at a part, where i think it's only a bit touching lol. so funny. though sometimes i also will cry at touching scenes, but that scene actually not touching enough to me lol.
ok that's all i can rmb for now. a bit incoherent, cuz random thoughts just came in lol. my memory really fails me nowadays. but then, brain power is not wholely memory. it's the analytical mind that i luckily still have :P

been thru 2 noc breifings in a week. got to know more about the upcoming trip. going on 5 feb, almost a week after cny. actually good, cuz get to spend cny in singapore, and the weather then would be warmer at around 10 degrees. siam tio the coldest part of the winter in china, which to me is quite good lah, cuz i lazy to wear so many clothes lol so mafan.
1st briefing was quite boring. talked about the real mundane stuff that we need to do, we need to take note of etc. then came prof teo, i dozed off within 5 minutes. and oops, i kanna caught by him lol. but well, who cares man :P
2nd briefing was organized by alumni. morning was insurance briefing. then lunch where we got to interact, within colleges and with other colleges. also had inter-colleges "networking" sessions, which actually i just went around talking crap lol. we had to paste stickers on other pple about our first impressions on them. and what i got, guess what, many of them knew i was the one caught sleeping in the 1st briefing :P hahahaha. got one even said i was brave... cuz he was sleeping too then, but i was the "scapegoat". really funny
looks like singtel coverage in nus extension wasn't good. cuz i messaged dear many times and dear messaged me many times. it was until 3.40pm then i received around 5 messages that dear messaged me. but dear didn't even receive any one of the sms-es that i have sent. luckily, my messages manage to get thru after that :P if not dear would be damn sad for the whole day :)
oh ya, yesterday was the 1st time in a long time that i took public transport :) took a bus to yck mrt station then took mrt to douby ghaut. journey back was also bus and mrt :) squeezed in the mrt :P realised the proportion of PRCs around me was really significantly much higher than around 2 years ago when i didn't have a car. but well, didn't see any bad social behaviour though except those pple who hogged the priority seats despite having some old pple standing around! well, this phenomenon seems not have improved any bit since last time.
hmm for me and dear's 15th month, i had a surprise for dear. hee. wanted to put a card in her letterbox but then the stupid letter box was locked in order to prevent flyers! who invented this kinda of mechanism? what the hell! lol. spoil my plan lah lol. in the end i had to settle for putting the card outside her house and i had to stand by around her house for around 1 hr plus to make sure the card was stolen or blown away lol. actually before that dear was a bit sad cuz maybe she was thinking of me leaving. then she eventually cried when i wished her happy 15th month. see her cry i was a bit sad too, but then i still manage to comfort her a bit :) Dear, believe me that i will come back for you :P
yesterday had quite a nice talk with one of the seniors, Weileen, from noc shanghai. well, talked about our ideals and stuff like that, as well as some of the latest business opportunities. well, there's definitely something that is correct. it's at no cost to think about what i want carefully. i think it will take some time, but i guess it's worth it as it will help me identify a certain direction in life. i guess i have the time to do so, and i think it would help me shape how i work how i interact with pple in shanghai as well as when i am back in singapore :)

still feeling tired
hmm looks like i need more rest...the sleep debts that i have accumulated over the sem have not been cleared. actually i dun think they would be cleared in any way. they are more like permanent damages to my body. well, what to do...i am in engineering, and worse computer engineering :P
yup i have been slacking around. but actually not lol. cuz got to do some admin tasks for noc. module mapping is killing me, cuz fudan university really has a cui website, that doesn't give me information about the modules except for the number of credits and its module title =X then my emails are forwarded here and there in search of the right person to settle the module mapping.
thursday would be ntu hall 11 performance :P would be having a last practice tomorrow. hope the final member who hasn't come at all really comes. and hope she wun disrupt the whole performance...
next week i would have 2 briefings for noc, one on wed, one on saturday. 2 days gone. 2 days without dear. hope dear can understand and entertain herself for a while :) next friday i would also make a visit to the hq of alphatron asia in singapore, my employer in shanghai :P would be introduced to their new product in alphaview. wondering how much techincal stuff i would be touching there in shanghai, but well, no matter what, it would be a learning experience for me :)
christmas soon :) merry christmas in advance lol.
time really flies. quite apprehensive about gg for noc. but i guess it would be big step out for me. quite apprehensive about me and dear's r/s. but i promise dear to come back for her. i hope that she and i can continue to make efforts to maintain this r/s. i really hope so. for my part, i definitely will make the extra effort to talk to her everyday, even if it would be only a short 15 minutes. i guess that's the least i can do. i shall tolerate whatever nonsense that she may have when she's feeling sad. that's the least i can do too. i really hope things can work out. although many pple say long-dist relationships wun work out most of the time, i think i do not belong to the "most of the time". at least on my part, i would try to pacify my dear as much as i can. and i hope on her part, she can be strong and wait for me to come back for her.
Dear! Let's make things happen together :) 加油!

low
i really have no avenue to release my emotions except here. so dun read it if u dun wan to dampen your mood.
tomorrow is her last paper. but it seems like it wun be a happy day tomolo. it's just the wrong time to emo. i am sorry for that. but i really dunno how to prevent that cuz the msg left me with practically no alternatives.
haiz. a one-word message to end the day is definitely not what i want. guess she doesnt want that too.
hope it doesnt affect her exam tomolo. cannot affect. cuz her CAP must go up, not go down, not stay stagnant. all i can do is to jiayou for her morally.
i guess all guys dun like to be compared with regards to r/s. it just feels weird. it just feels like you are being monitored all the time, and if u fail to do smt well, u will be deserted for another guy. at least, this applies for me. i dunno, maybe i am over-sensitive. but i guess i can't control what i feel too. if not, why i am rambling over here?
i know all girls like to be pampered. they tend to compare other pple's bf with theirs. thru that, unknowingly, they add more expectations of their bf. i guess this is a similar situation to society where competition leads to higher expectations of the employees. well, maybe this is unavoidable, and maybe i should adjust to that, just like how i have always adjusted to whatever competition that i face in sch.
ok enough of all this philosophical thoughts. do smt practical to solve this lame conflict.
Dear, jiayou for tomolo's exam! hope it doesnt affect your performance tomorrow. hope i can wake up in time to at least send a jiayou msg to you before your exam.

exams over!
exams are over! finally i can have a good nite's sleep. this has been a real terrible sem for me. with projects taking up most of my time and sleep time even until reading week! but i am glad all these are over. well one thing for sure, my time management skills have definitely improved, which is a good thing :P
only had 4 exams. cuz ee2001 is 100% project based...
first is engin professionalism eg2401. is a mixture of structured and essay style. questions asked in structured manner, answers in essay manner. weird exam indeed.
second is changing landscape gek2001. decided to s/u before it. studied just enough :P should be ok.
third is computer networks ee3204 on the same day as gek2001. quite an ok exam, but then i realised i got some concept error about distance vectors after the exams, but too bad. hope an A is not jeopardised by that 10 mark question.
lastly is computer architecture ee3207. 30%, 40 mcq questions. those questions are mostly not mentioned or described fully in the notes! considered out of syllabus to me. questions that i am really sure is really only around 5-6 questions! but as the lecturer has said, it would be a feat to pass his exam... dunno why he wants to do that, maybe he wants to let the project dictate his grading, so that he doesn't need to re-rank us because of the exams... yes he does ranking in order to grade us...
oh yeah, i bought a new bluetooth mouse for myself :) cuz my old mouse is spoilt. somehow the left click button debouncing is going cranky... click once sometimes becomes double click. haha, bought it at sim lim square fuwell for 85 bucks... well a bit expensive but it's worth it in my own money sense =X also bought 1 SODIMM 2GB RAM for my 2yr 4mth old lappie and 1 DIMM 2GB RAM for the family PC. each costs only 34 bucks :P now 2 GB RAMs are cheap :P

a post before the exams
damn long nv post a blog le. have been busy with projects. finished projects only this wed during reading week! that means i am left with little time to study for my exams, but fortunately, my exams are not so heavy this time round.
EE2001 and EE3207 are really 2 big projects that took up a lot of my time. EE3207 is the one that dragged to reading week. We are considered early to hand in on this wednesday, weird rite? This goes to show this module is really quite jialat, esp the organization of it. well, still, it has been a learning experience :P at least now i can say i have written a VHDL-coded 8051 microprocessor :p and i have learnt how to write machine code with ease :P
tomorrow is the 1st paper on engineering professionalism, halfway thru writing the cheat sheet. quite a lot to write esp the last part of intellectual property law. hope tomolo's paper would be a nice start :) no weird questions or terms that will stump me please :P
ok, end the post le. lol. may post photos of the EE2001 project soon :) a nice project, at least aesthetically :P didn't manage to take a video of EE3207 project, cuz there's actually little that is fantastic to show, esp to a layman. only pple who understand the principles and architecture of 8051 can understand what we have done :P
ok here's the link of the video of the ee2001 project that we have submitted in week 12. :)

1st Year!
almost 9 days after 1st year annni with dear le lol. cuz i was really too busy to blog, but now i am blogging becuz i have promised dear to blog :P
this time, dear got 2 prezzies for me, i also had 2 for her. one of her presents were creative haha. see liao, i wan to laugh, yet very appreciative :) the other one was a half-revealed present. it was a stitch :) i think she really spent a lot of time stitching, cuz it's so difficult, esp for her clumsy hands and fingers OOPS.
my 2 presents are also full of thoughts. :P, at least that's what i think. i went online to search for POOHs that are not available in Singapore directly in retail. and i rmb that SEGA produces POOHs of good design and quality. and i managed to find 4 POOHs on the net that immediately caught my eye :P After a bit more searching, i decided on that, and contacted the person selling it :) the 4 POOHs are just like dear's children. she wants 4 children, can u believe it? lols. They now got names liao lor. they got double names somemore. baba - boy oh, soso - junior oh, bibi - small oh, yoyo - tiny oh. so funny :)
my the other present was a movie that i made :) hahaha, first time making a movie. spent a bit of time, exploring the hidden unused windows movie maker. not a bad software i think lol. while i was making the movie, i looked at so many so many photos lol. look dao blur. but then the ones i chose were either funny or nice :) the song i chose was one of her fav songs, cuz i rmb she said that lol. the sync with the song was still manageable, cuz somehow it comes naturally to me lol.
on that day itself, we went to the restaurant where we first ate slipper lobster together. haha, actually is me who gian to eat slipper lobster this time round lol. cuz the first time, is she gian, then we go eat. then the 2nd time is i gian, so i suggested that place lol. that day, we didn't stay out very late, cuz i was sick. then dear was supposed to drive lol, cuz i was under medication. actually dear was a bit sick that day. so kelian. in the end, i was driving her car lol. lucky, i can dong thru the drowsy medication that day :)
haiz, enough of fun things :) was really super busy with ee2001 project. super mafan. alot of debugging, cuz it's a mixture of hardware and software. hardware will take up more time. think it's almost done for my part le, at least for the technical parts. hope no more sudden glitches, though i doubt so.
got to start with ee3207 and eg2401. gek2001 is going well, cuz my group mates were rather motivated. haha, we had quite a few meetings already :), considering that i am going to s/u this module most probably. well do the project well so that i dun have to study so hard for the exams :) eg2401 -- 25 pages essay, ee3207 -- 8051 in VHDL.
i guess the next 4 weeks would continue to be very siong to me. i guess dear would be the one who is most affected, feel quite bad not being able to pei her so much. esp when i am most probably gg shanghai for one year soon. hope things get better after week 10, then i would be able to give her more time :) Dear, jiayou for your studies, even if i dun have much time with u, i will still pluck out some time every week for u de. just tolerate a while, it should be over soon. i need your support :)
lastly, jiayou to myself for everything!

i guess the next 4 weeks would continue to be very siong to me. i guess dear would be the one who is most affected, feel quite bad not being able to pei her so much. esp when i am most probably gg shanghai for one year soon. hope things get better after week 10, then i would be able to give her more time :) Dear, jiayou for your studies, even if i dun have much time with u, i will still pluck out some time every week for u de. just tolerate a while, it should be over soon. i need your support :)
lastly, jiayou to myself for everything!

busy
so long nv blog le, and that's mostly becuz i was god damn busy. and i am still god damn busy. this sem is gg to be hell for me. 4 projects. 1 100% 6MC, 1 70% 4mc, 1 30% 4mc, 1 25% 4mc.
ee2001 project is really a headache. so many MCs, so little guidance, so much self-learning, so much trial and error. i spent the whole of yesterday trying out the LCD thingy, luckily it worked finally at night! well at least i learn that it is not wise to depend on the datasheet only. it is simply lacking information.
ee3207 project havent started yet... can start already i guess. the basics of it can be done, cuz it is spoonfed i think. it's the extra features that i would wan to focus. cuz it would determine whether i would get my A or A+.
eg2401 project is an essay one, shall be forming a group this coming week. and i think we need to research quite a lot. at least this is less technical, less trial and error, less sense of failure.
gek2001 project, em, should be ok. arts module, esp an arts gem, is always relaxing. i took an SS module in first year first sem, and scored it, despite making little effort lol. the project was easy. just go take some data, write some analysis lol. this one is simply research, and analyse. should be ok. if not, also ok, score a bit higher for exam, and i can S/U it safely :)
my focus would be ee2001 and ee3207. must do well, must score, must get A! this would be my main aim this sem.
jiayou! jiayou to myself and everybody else. of course, dun snatch my A away lol.
it's gg to be 1st year for me and dear. hahaha, damn fast. thinking back, everything just seems so natural lol. everything just feel so warming to the heart. headache for me though, got to prepare a good present for her. shall try my best :)
okie, that's all. back to studies, revising for the coming ee3204 test on wednesday.

back from taiwan
i am back from taiwan. it was a rather uneventful trip cuz of the weather. cuz of typhoon, we couldn't get out of taipei. sad thing. i wanted to see nice nice scenery out of taipei which is basically a shopping place nia.
to add on to this, it kept raining intermittently, and we couldn't go to 六福村. long time nv go theme park liao, wanted to go theme park and have some thrilling rides...(of course, i dare not take the 大怒神... but maybe would have taken if some pple goad me on...)
so in essence, we are basically only doing shopping, eating all kinds of famous food in taipei in the night markets. for me, i am really not a shopping guy. not say i dun like new clothes and stuff, but i dun like the process of choosing things. u choose 100 then maybe u see 1 u like. but then that one u like may not have your size or may have some cuttings that u dun like. so it comes down to maybe getting only 1 out of 1000? i dunno lol.
and what's worse is that i can't walk and stand for long lah. my feet have some problems i guess. my soles would always flare up when i stand for too long maybe like around 2-3 hours my feet would be quite tired le. that's why i hated parades in army, when i had to stand still for at least 15 minutes. this alone would make my soles feel painful le. luckily, no more parade liao for ns men :P
haha, but it's overall a good trip lah. as in the pple around. the games we played. the food we eat. and also the 抓抓乐 lols. dear is really good at catching stuff from all those machines. for me, i guess i dun have the talent, or i was simply too lazy to play with it, since dear can always do the job and has a higher chance to get the thing inside the machine. i got a 7-仔 and a pooh bear from dear :) she is damn zai lols. i also bought a 7-仔, a bigger one :P which i can hang on my car :) this 7-仔 has nicer hair than the ones i saw in singapore, i immediately wanted to buy it when i spotted it in shilin night market.
back from taiwan, got 2 things to do. finish the cors bidding. move back into hall.
i am left with my last module, i hope i can get an arts gem, which is what i need...otherwise i would have to make do with a tech elective, which would add on to my already heavy workload.
i really can't believe that i used 710 points for an EE2001 slot. this is ridiculous lah. it has been 1 point. the pple behind the time slots are so stupid this time. i guess a lot of clashes with the wed and tues slot, resulting in an overload of pple in the thurs slot, which happens to be what i bidded. luckily i managed to change my bid points to 2000 in taiwan...really kuku lah. now one of my partners nv get the thurs slot. hope he can get it in round 1c...though only 1 slot left. pray hard. if not damn mafan lah.
have some inertia to move back into hall. need to pack some stuff. need to clean up the room. so mafan. hahaha. i did that for 1,2,3,4 times le. this would be the 5th time lol. and i guess it would be the last one, if everything is in accordance to plan. unless noc thingy cock up, just like how it did for my friend, i would be flying off in my sem 6. and by the time i come back, i guess i wouldn't have the energy to participate in hall le. just stay at home. anyway, home has an incentive, that is the wonderful invention -- aircon :) which is definitely necessary during march april may time when the exams happen to fall in...
ok it's lunch time :)

1 day before taiwan!
hee, 1 more day i will be leaving for taiwan :P i just pray that weather will be good unlike what the forcast predicts...
have been playing with the cors system. last nite got a shock when ee3207 lecture is changed from thurs 10-12 to wed 1800 to 2000 hrs! what the hell! i dun wan evening classes lah. the change was due to a clash with ee2009 which some pple may take together. wah rao, stupid ece dept, make this kind of stupid mistake and realise it so late, resulting in such a stupid timing for the lecture. and it's the lousy LT, LT7!!! smelly and no ac power. how am i gg to survive? i dun wan to print my notes lah!
would be taking EE2001, a heavy project module. would be super time-consuming. hope i can have fun while finishing this project, and also scoring an A for that.
EE3207 is computer architecture, 70% project. well also time-consuming. no official lab sessions. so own time own target finish the intro labs and finish the project too. it's programming once again :p
EE3204 is computer communication networks 1. some signals stuff i guess. know nuts abt it, no ivle page, nothing. stupid lecturer. must be sleeping.
EG2401 is engineering professionalism. should be similar to critical writing. maybe some ethics and stuff. that means i have to write essays lah lols.
the last module i hope is an arts gem. currently have choices gek1006, gek1005, gem2000. the others not that interesting lol. but i have a restriction. that is only 333 general acct points. gek1006 should be hard to get. gek1005 should be ok cuz one year nv provide this module le, maybe pple dunno it's quite ok de. gem2000 should be ok too maybe around 300 points. i dunno lah. just pray hard.
if cannot get any arts gem at the end, i may choose ee3206, that is intro to computer vision and image processing :P 20% labs, formal lab reports, which i haven't written before. 80% exam. should be quite lax, according to a blogger lol.
well enough of bidding. but that's the only thing on my mind now. bo bian, this is the third year i gg thru this thingy le. it has been headache-inducing lol.
taiwan taiwan, here i come! i wan food. i wan new clothes. i wan new experience :P

just an entry
hmm around 1 week's time, i will fly off to taiwan for a vacation :P well, rather excited. first time gg to taiwan :P food, games, scenery, and of course the pple gg with me :)
this week nothing much, except for one rather unusual incident. i fetched a nun back to her temple :P i was intending to drive to the barber for a haircut, but near my house there, i saw a nun having difficulty walking, and she seemed to be hitch-hiking lols, though no hand sign. so i stopped and she said she wanted a lift to a nearby bus-stop. then i said ok lor. on the car, she said her temple near eunos, and she willing to give a lil money. i thought that since i was in no hurry, so i just decided to give her lift back to her temple, and said no need to her money.
on the car, she fell asleep lols, cuz of some traffic jam due to some lame road works. i was then wondering wah nuns also can like that fall asleep. lols. maybe i was used to some stereotyping on tv le lols, that's why i was a lil surprised. she woke up near her place to guide me there cuz i didn't know the exact location. i didn't need to wake her up, if not it will feel rather weird to wake an old nun like her.
it was a nice experience :) anyway i was free mah :P at that time i just hoped that my good deed would help my uncle's recovery. that was just a thought la, i didn't ask the nun to pray for him or not, cuz i think all these are in the heart. i helped her also not becuz i wanted some thing in return.
and of course yesterday was 10th month :P went out, got a lil parking fine (oops i haven't paid the fine yet), basically spending time together. i like her present, she likes mine too :P hee cuz 2 months nv celebrate together, so this month was rather important :) i made efforts in my present, i think it was damn tiring to make a jigsaw puzzle of 500 pieces. but the satisfaction came when i completed it :P i even took photos to show the development each day. i spent around 3 day :P a bit slow, ya cuz long time nv make a jigsaw puzzle le.
okie, end of entry :)

public transport?
was reading stomp articles, and saw an article abt overcrowding buses esp during peak hours. this problem was present since long long ago.
i rmb i had to squeeze up the buses when i took bus back home from school like around 6 plus. i could even miss buses. the govt keeps encouraging us to take public transport, but it hasn't realised that there are so many factors keeping us away from buses. yet, it is making things difficult for pple driving. indirectly, it would be making the problem of overcrowding buses worse.
i guess the govt can make the bus companies increase the frequencies esp during peak hours. but it seems like they didn't. one of the reasons i can think of is that they don't even know the crux of the problem. they dun even take any public transport. they are chauffeured around. they are really only 纸上谈兵.
i dunno when the govt would even realise this. maybe they have realized the problem. maybe they are just simply helpless in controlling the bus companies. singapore's bus companies are profit-first. they simply do not care about the commuters' welfare. i guess it is only when some accidents happen due to overcrowding, and cause some noise among the public, then they will do something about it. i guess this is quite a common sequence of events in singapore.
also, i just realise that bus companies do not get fined for having overcrowded buses, unlike taxis! is there a conspiracy? maybe not, cuz conspiracy is too heavy a word to use. i guess maybe there isn't a clause in the traffic rules that traffic police has to follow. by having fines, i guess this is the best way to solve this kinda problem in singapore. singaporeans, and singaporean companies, are just scared of fines. this is the culture inculcated by the early govt, that is to scare our pple, scare the companies, to prevent them from doing something that is wrong, or deemed to be wrong by our govt leaders.
ok, enough of rambling :P

super belated blog
hahaha i waited around a month to blog about my experience in china...hahaha partly due to my laziness but also due to the tight schedule i had...after arrival in singapore on june 8, i thought i had only 1 week to finish my TIP report (due to reservist), so i chiong for the whole week... then i went for 2 weeks of reservist trg from 16 to 27 june... then i rested for many days due to plain exhaustion maybe plus a bit of laziness lols.
today then i officially continue to write my report which is due on 10 july. should have ample time to finish lols.
alrite back to china trip. it was a fun trip with fun loving pple. though we were rather suay to have met the earthquake that led to many changes in the itinerary, the final itinerary turned out to be good, and i think it's better than the 1st 2 weeks of the trip itself. i guess this is probably due to more rest time and more fun time for the final 2 weeks lols.
the 1st week was rather tough for me, especially for the lack of sleep. we simply slept too little lah. at that time, i was wondering whether i can tahan through the whole trip. we went to hongkong, guangzhou, shanghai on the first week. so much travelling itself is tiring. plus the living conditions weren't really comfortable. besides, i have some conflicts with dear then due to some communication problem. all these resulted in a very sullen mood during the first week.
2nd week was much better, we were in nanjing and beijing. minimal travelling. better accomodation. and also because dear was more understanding, and she emo-ed less luckily :) and yeah i climbed the great wall :) shiok. though tiring. i was one of the first few to reach the top of what we can climb :) hahaha not bad sia, considering i am not v fit.
3rd week we went to tianjin and stayed almost a week there. air condition there is not good cuz there is sand in the wind but it's ok when no wind blows. the schedule is lax there towards the end of tianjin stay because there is last minute changes due to earthquake near xi'an which was supposedly our next stop. but it's good in a sense, rest was what i craved for.
after which we went to wen zhou for a light itinerary. this was arranged by anderson's friend 施永川老师. it was really light, yet inspiring. it was short trip before we went to xiamen where there are really many singaporeans doing business there. we met singaporean bosses, had casual talks with them, get inspired, get motivated, learn about our advantages and disadvantages as a Singaporean doing business in China. i like the food in xiamen, cuz it's closest to singaporean food, make me feel closer to home :) i also like the dialect there cuz it's hokkien and i can understand, unlike when i was in guangzhou and hongkong, cantonese was all over the place, and i could barely understand.
all in all, this china biz trip was really an enriching experience. although it was tough in the beginning, it was overall a nicely paced trip. i like the pple i meet in the group. i like the intangibles i have learnt in china. i like the overall feel of the pple there. i like the overall feel of the country. i guess i can go there for a vacation, going to see 兵马俑 which we have missed out when we took away xi'an from the trip. go to see other historic monuments. go and see the villages and the pple there. china is such a intriguing place especially with the history it has, and which i havent really had much knowledge of.
back in singapore, i am back with my dear. that's what i look forward to whenever the trip was really tough. absence really makes hearts fonder lols. missed her everyday, even though there were many instances when she emo-ed and i also sian.
the week before reservist, i spent with dear and my lappie. do report. duang around with dear. that's all i did i guess.
reservist was rather lax this time. less sai gang, less packed schedule. at least i get to sleep more often during this ICT, compared to the last. i guess it has to do with the new OC we had. less shit is passed down to us i guess. or maybe i didn't have any bad experience with the OC ba, compared to the 1st ICT, when i had some unhappy experience with the OC, who wun be coming back at least for 1 more year ba. hope he just goes away lah. his admin skills really cmi lah, maybe i am biased but ya what i know is that i get a lot of shit to do.
initially i wun be booking out for 2 whole weeks, which happened to be untrue. i got to book out on the 1st week's friday nite luckily, due to some luck also. cuz we voted for 4 of 12 drivers to take part in the live firing which is on saturday, and those pple booked out only on sunday morning. they are really korlian. but it's just luck. i prepared for the worst already, but sometimes i get lucky when i dun think i will be lucky lols.
the 2nd week' major event is the 2 day 1 nite outfield. before that on monday we got a whole day + nite training. so it was rather tiring for us to go on an outfield the next morning. the outfield was rather ok, except for the mosquitoes that bit me on that nite when i was trying to sleep. i didn't sleep well. most probably i wasn't used to outfield already lols. but this kind of thing i also dun wan to get used to it lols. throughout the outfield plus the training on monday, i breathed in dunno how much of mosquito coil smoke lols. 3 whole days of mosquito coils burnt. it's mad lah lols. passive smoker lols. but for the sake of repelling mosquitoes, i guess i have no choice but to be a temporary passive smoker :P
before bookout, there's an unhappy incident. me and jackson kanna arrowed by his VC to "touch up" on the vehicle shed. his reason was because we didn't go and clean the place earlier on when the rest of platoon went. but i was rather sure there were pple who didn't go. but he purposely aimed us lah. basket him lor. initially i didn't wan to do de but cuz it affects my out-processing, i just went to do lor. just do lor. bo bian. if he had given a better reason, i would have done it with less grudges. but because of his f-uped face when he talked to us, i really was angry. but nvm, at least i know his pattern liao personally, after hearing so many stories from jackson about him.
alrite now i am back as a civilian, i got to finish my work as fast as possible. look forward to the upcoming taiwan trip on 26th july to 31st july. yeah :) i will be back blogging...upon continuous pushing and external motivation i guess lols
today then i officially continue to write my report which is due on 10 july. should have ample time to finish lols.

after which we went to wen zhou for a light itinerary. this was arranged by anderson's friend 施永川老师. it was really light, yet inspiring. it was short trip before we went to xiamen where there are really many singaporeans doing business there. we met singaporean bosses, had casual talks with them, get inspired, get motivated, learn about our advantages and disadvantages as a Singaporean doing business in China. i like the food in xiamen, cuz it's closest to singaporean food, make me feel closer to home :) i also like the dialect there cuz it's hokkien and i can understand, unlike when i was in guangzhou and hongkong, cantonese was all over the place, and i could barely understand.
all in all, this china biz trip was really an enriching experience. although it was tough in the beginning, it was overall a nicely paced trip. i like the pple i meet in the group. i like the intangibles i have learnt in china. i like the overall feel of the pple there. i like the overall feel of the country. i guess i can go there for a vacation, going to see 兵马俑 which we have missed out when we took away xi'an from the trip. go to see other historic monuments. go and see the villages and the pple there. china is such a intriguing place especially with the history it has, and which i havent really had much knowledge of.
back in singapore, i am back with my dear. that's what i look forward to whenever the trip was really tough. absence really makes hearts fonder lols. missed her everyday, even though there were many instances when she emo-ed and i also sian.
the week before reservist, i spent with dear and my lappie. do report. duang around with dear. that's all i did i guess.
reservist was rather lax this time. less sai gang, less packed schedule. at least i get to sleep more often during this ICT, compared to the last. i guess it has to do with the new OC we had. less shit is passed down to us i guess. or maybe i didn't have any bad experience with the OC ba, compared to the 1st ICT, when i had some unhappy experience with the OC, who wun be coming back at least for 1 more year ba. hope he just goes away lah. his admin skills really cmi lah, maybe i am biased but ya what i know is that i get a lot of shit to do.
initially i wun be booking out for 2 whole weeks, which happened to be untrue. i got to book out on the 1st week's friday nite luckily, due to some luck also. cuz we voted for 4 of 12 drivers to take part in the live firing which is on saturday, and those pple booked out only on sunday morning. they are really korlian. but it's just luck. i prepared for the worst already, but sometimes i get lucky when i dun think i will be lucky lols.
the 2nd week' major event is the 2 day 1 nite outfield. before that on monday we got a whole day + nite training. so it was rather tiring for us to go on an outfield the next morning. the outfield was rather ok, except for the mosquitoes that bit me on that nite when i was trying to sleep. i didn't sleep well. most probably i wasn't used to outfield already lols. but this kind of thing i also dun wan to get used to it lols. throughout the outfield plus the training on monday, i breathed in dunno how much of mosquito coil smoke lols. 3 whole days of mosquito coils burnt. it's mad lah lols. passive smoker lols. but for the sake of repelling mosquitoes, i guess i have no choice but to be a temporary passive smoker :P
before bookout, there's an unhappy incident. me and jackson kanna arrowed by his VC to "touch up" on the vehicle shed. his reason was because we didn't go and clean the place earlier on when the rest of platoon went. but i was rather sure there were pple who didn't go. but he purposely aimed us lah. basket him lor. initially i didn't wan to do de but cuz it affects my out-processing, i just went to do lor. just do lor. bo bian. if he had given a better reason, i would have done it with less grudges. but because of his f-uped face when he talked to us, i really was angry. but nvm, at least i know his pattern liao personally, after hearing so many stories from jackson about him.
alrite now i am back as a civilian, i got to finish my work as fast as possible. look forward to the upcoming taiwan trip on 26th july to 31st july. yeah :) i will be back blogging...upon continuous pushing and external motivation i guess lols

i am in guangzhou now
this is the 2nd day of the bingo trip. first to update: we are safe in china, luckily we were in hk on the 1st day when the severe earthquake happened. due to the earthquake, the back portion of the trip would be amended, and we would most likely not visit chengdu.
things cock up here and there, but still ok still manageable. today we had a visit at a startup company, techsailor. i think it is rather provocative in the mind, makes me feel that entrepreneurship is really not easy. but i admire their passion, and i believe passion is really the way to this career path
tomorrow we would have some visits at some universities, then we would fly to shanghai at nite. hope it wun be too late when we reach the hotel, though i estimate to be around 12 to 1am.
ok that's all, got other stuff to do :P

12 hours more
12 hours more, i should be on the way to changi airport for my 28 day china trip. so i guess it's time to blog blog a little :P
ok exams. i love exams, actually i love the fact that i am able to sleep more during reading week and exam weeks. it's really unbelievable that i sleep less than 8 hours a day during term time. i am always very tired during term time, so it's really good that i can sleep till shiok everyday during this period of time when everyone is mugging hard like crazy.
i only had 4 exams this semester, cuz one module gek2507 is of pure tests basis, and i finished my tests on wk 13. i guess this module is fine, and hopefully i dun have to face a dilemma of whether to S/U if i suay suay get an A-.
first exam was fna1002x. it was more difficult than expected, cuz jiacheng kept saying that the lecturer dr winston kwok's paper is easy. now it should his paper was easy. but it was difficult too lah. just that there is a question that can differentiate an A student from a B+ student. luckily i am able to do that question, hopefully i can be the former one :P
2nd paper was cs2103. it was rather difficult, and i can say it was more difficult than the past years'. it's the first time i couldn't do the paper at first glance, and i skip skip skip till the last page, and finally decide to do from the front lols. well, hopefully i did well for it.
3rd paper was ee2007. it was easy, like past years', though there's some difficulty to it. heard some pple didn't finish it. hmm i dunno why, well maybe it's a little tedious to write the assembly code by pen.
the last paper was ee2012, and it was on my birthday. i guess i was in luck on that day. i had the least confidence for that module, but it turned out fine :P
this 23rd birthday was really enjoyable, cuz dear really made alot of effort in her present and her planning of the night. really grateful for that :P i guess she knows that i appreciate it a lot, though she said i didn't show it. i am just not that kind of person who would say "Oh.....! i am so touched!" lols. details of how she celebrated with me shall be kept within my memories only :P
this week after exams, i had been with dear to compensate for my absence for 1 month. i guess i will miss her a lot and i know she will miss me lots too :P
rather excited about the china trip, but i know things can't go right always, so i am prepared to face some cock ups here and there. just hope that this kinks wouldn't affect my experience in china so much :P would be travelling around 8 cities, namely HK, guangzhou, shanghai, beijing, nanjing, tianjin, xi'an, chengdu. we would visiting universities, companies, taking at a look at how things work there. hopefully it would help mould my perspective of china's economic scene. also i can force myself to speak better Mandarin, instead of the singaporean mandarin that i am speaking now :P
back from the trip i still have to complete a 3500 word report cum biz plan within a week though i should have 3 weeks to complete it, cuz i am bound for reservist training for 2 weeks a week after i come back from china! arghs! i guess dear would be a little neglected. hmm, i would try to fork out time for her, just like how i did during term time :P
looking forward to the taiwan trip at the end of july. first time gg to taiwan, even though i have been wanting to go there since army time lols.
okie that's all for today. i might be able to update on the china trip when i am in china :P

before exams
2 more days and it's exam period for me. 4 exams this sem. 3 open book 1 closed book. sounds alright :P but this sem wasn't easy esp the 2nd half of the semester, with projects piling up and tests coming on wk 13. well the worst period of wk 12 and wk 13 is over. and now i am studying for FNA1002X which would be the 1st exam for me this sem. like what i have always liked to do, i would like to get on a roll by marking the 1st exam with a victory.
after exams would be the bingo biz trip to china. haven't prepared the stuff i need to bring there. i would need to buy blazer, shirts, pants, necessities, as well as a laptop battery. so many things to do within 5 days. hmm, would get it done. i guess during that short 5 days, i would have to settle logistics stuff too. well, leave it to after exams.
this biz trip would be a long 28 days if i am not wrong till june 8. after that i would have a week to finish my 3500 word report before i go for a 2wk ICT. this is definitely not fun. actually i would have 3 weeks to complete the report but because of a so-called service to singapore, i have to rush out a little. hope it would still be a decent work to earn me my 2MCs.
i guess i would get my actual break only during july. a 3mth break shortened to a 1mth break. well, it's ok, cuz i think 3 months is really too long, and it will really bore me to death.
alright back to studies. FNA1002X, CS2103, EE2007, and EE2012, here I come and conquer u!

phoenix fest after-thoughts
got criticised by someone on her blog. well, it was quite hurting to see these kind of comments made. she has her points but she does not really see the efforts made behind the scenes, so i dun really blame her, but i wan to clarify on some stuff.
firstly, i apologise for sunday's rehearsal. it was rather disorganised. i didn't really plan the flow, as in i didn't expect pple to be so slow up and down the stage. i didn't expect pple to be so not cooperative in terms of timings. but i dun blame them, it was my fault not to tell them the tightness of the timings to be met.
next, i wan to clarify that it's not that i wun tell you all the plans for the transitions and holding area stuff, it's that u all ask before i told u. i see no need to have the holding area and stuff on sunday, cuz everything would just go out of the plan. i was planning to tell u all at the end of the briefing. well, maybe it's my fault not to say this as early as before the first rehearsal. i guess my intention not to flood you all with information and stuff is wrong.
no, the wet weather program was planned long ago, it's definitely not last minute when i see rain then i panicked and made this kind of decision. really feel accused for this.
really, we had no choice but to move to comm hall on monday for rehearsal. i know u all see no sense in it i also. but then, sunday's tech settings were not recorded. and there's a high chance it's going to rain on tuesday, so i decided to go ahead with a rehearsal on monday. if sunday's tech settings were alrite, i would just cancel the full runs and just do a sequence run in the comm hall, but that's certainly not the case. seeing no sense in checking sounds in comm hall if we gg to do in takraw court, i boldly raise the idea of having it in comm hall to shu ann... and in the end i still get arrows shot at me, asking me why did i come up with tat decision, pressuring me to revert my decision. i am just a like a meat inside a hamburger kanna kiap.
i also dun like the phrase "see how the weather goes". it's simply not my way of doing things, but i have to appease both sides of reasons. if i can make decisions independently, i would just go with comm hall, and stick with it, and that was my plan after we moved to comm hall... but somehow seniors don't agree with me...
talking about quality, i guess it's more impt to have sound checks done properly in comm hall since we are most probably having the event in comm hall, and not sacrificing it for the so-called full runs that have everyone rushing up and down just like a performance. time is a factor, we have no more time. so i can't do it. u may say that i should have rehearsals earlier, but then would u all come down? u all would just say so many rehearsals for such an internal event, again i got pressures from the bottom and the top... so i betted that we would have the transitions done quite ok, given that most of u out there are regular performers. so i am not compromising quality, instead i am ensuring that sound quality would be good for the audience. hence, it's definitely contradicting for her to say that i am compromising quality when i am not doing the full run just like the actual performance on monday nite.
ok, this is the first time i am organising such an event, and i admit there were some areas that i failed to look into. well, i guess this is a learning experience for me. i am not to deny any mistakes that i have made but i wan to ask for forgivness for everything that i have done wrong.
really this is a job that is 吃力不讨好. my pple are simply not reliable except for some. my comm is not those kind of comm pple fight to come in, they are thrown into this comm. what can i do? i can only suck thumb and try to use these pple. well, i cannot blame anyone but how things go about in this hall...
alright, i really respect her professionalism, and indeed i was rather impressed with her band, i think they were the best performance. they wore outfits that were really formal, and i am grateful for that. but i hope she respects the organising comm as well, cuz things dun just come about in a minute or so. she doesn't know what kind of planning has been done by me, what kind of small small things i have to take care of before the whole thing. she only sees the surface, so it's rather unfair for her to just say that this whole event was totally disorganised. ok, i wun blame her for that, i would just treat it as her ignorance to what me and my pple do behind the scenes.
lastly, if this is rhazz, i dun think it would be so cocked up. i would be planning so many rehearsals that u all may think i am crazy. this phoenix fest, i really dun have much time buffer to engage with so many impromptu situations. well i am sorry about that, but i guess i did my best as a first timer. well, hope i wun be involved directly in the rhazz next yr, at most as advisor, really organising committee is really not a nice job, cuz all the criticisms, constructive, non-constructive, would just come at us.

a lil sian
feeling a lil bored, so i decided to blog lols.
phoenix fest was successfully held on tuesday, 11 march. preparations were quite hectic then. cuz got many areas of matters to take care of. and i am almost the only one taking care of this and that... well a form of training but not quite a good time to have that kind of trg. but anyway i am glad that it is over. there is a slight regret, that is we couldn't have it done on takraw court, cuz it was raining both on mon's rehearsal and tue's actual performance. well i guess it's just too bad :P
ok, coming are 2 heavy projects with lots of coding. ee2007 and cs2103. it's going to be a hectic schedule ahead... with brain cells killed like nobody's business... and fna1002x project which is almost half done, but the other half is not easy i guess...
well sian... a bit sian... haiz...

so stressed
been rather stressed the past few days that my pimples are popping out like nobody's business and i have not been sleeping well...almost couldn't take it when i was driving back from NUS.
currently, i got many things to be bothered with. projects, tests, phoenix fest, bingo...
and yes i have been selected for the NUS BINGO biz trip to China this vacation. it would be a 26 day affair from may 13 to june 8. basically we would go there, visit several tertiary institutions and companies, while we prepare to write a 4000 word research report on any business topic. hmm, i havent decided my research topic yet, i think i would take a look at it when i have more free time. for this trip, we would also have to contribute, and lucky me i got an easier job that is the asst treasurer. i wanted the multimedia director, but i gave it to another person who has expertise in video editing. but it was a lucky decision, cuz he later got a job as a charity director, who will find money to donate to charities which he is also supposed to find in China. lucky me :) cuz i wouldn't have the time to do all these due to my hall commitments and projects.
ok, at least i am done with ee2007 mini project 2, that means one less project until wk 8 wednesday when the major project would start and i would have less than 4 weeks to complete.
cs2103 project is a headache cuz we haven't started coding yet, and coding is the actual tough process which will take up a lot of time. i forsee myself coding thru the whole of wk 9,10,11,12,13. wk 8 would be the submission of report 2, but i guess we would have it done by the end of wk 7, cuz i have a very busy wk 8 with tests and phoenix fest.
fna1002x project is a rather slack project, cuz we only have to read thru a financial report (48 pages) then answer questions. basically this project we try to divide the questions equally and do separately. but there will be some collaboration for the last question worth 20 out of 90 marks. for now, we will finish 6 questions, and i am doing 2 shorter questions.
alright, phoenix fest. it would be wk 8 tuesday. we would have rehearsals on sunday and monday. i haven't set the timings yet. i guess sunday afternoon would be a nice time to start, cuz we would need to set up the stage in takraw court. and this needs time and manpower. hope that it goes on smoothly, with my people cooperating with jiacheng. i have delegated the jobs, but ultimately the responsiblity is still mine, so i still have that stress to make sure that this within-hall concert would be a successful one.
dear was really nice to me when she knows that i am real stressed. she drew nice nice stuff to cheer me up, the effort realy touched me. as in she is already so busy with her revision for the tests, yet she has to spend time doing all these to try relieve my stress. really grateful for that. i will be missing dear a lot when i am in china for a whopping 26 days. dear may be worrying that i may 变心 or what, but i can safely guarantee that i won't :) this one i am really 100% confident of, and i hope dear would have absolute confidence in me :)
alright, time to do my projects and complete 1 tutorial just released :)

alright, phoenix fest. it would be wk 8 tuesday. we would have rehearsals on sunday and monday. i haven't set the timings yet. i guess sunday afternoon would be a nice time to start, cuz we would need to set up the stage in takraw court. and this needs time and manpower. hope that it goes on smoothly, with my people cooperating with jiacheng. i have delegated the jobs, but ultimately the responsiblity is still mine, so i still have that stress to make sure that this within-hall concert would be a successful one.
dear was really nice to me when she knows that i am real stressed. she drew nice nice stuff to cheer me up, the effort realy touched me. as in she is already so busy with her revision for the tests, yet she has to spend time doing all these to try relieve my stress. really grateful for that. i will be missing dear a lot when i am in china for a whopping 26 days. dear may be worrying that i may 变心 or what, but i can safely guarantee that i won't :) this one i am really 100% confident of, and i hope dear would have absolute confidence in me :)
alright, time to do my projects and complete 1 tutorial just released :)

an update
almost a month since i updated my blog... cuz i was busy cuz i was lazy...
decided to blog now cuz i am a bit bored, cuz i got that inertia that prevents me from reading the chapters of EE2007. after i am done with this post, i will go read the 3 sections, then do the tutorial.
so many things on hand now... but first talk about what i have settled:
1) done with floorball competition which ended with a thorough loss as expected :x
2) ok i have collected all the caroling payments from the various shopping centres, phew, cuz a lot of money is involved.
3) done with collection of cans, that means done with the 3 aux i need to stay on in raffles hall.
4) done with ee2007 mini project 1, it was a breeze :P
5) done with cs2103 report submission 1
6) have been pre-reading lectures :P have been doing post-readings, have done my tutorials except for one due to only 1 night's time, and lecture's lagging behind tutorials.
what i have got to do:
1) ee2007 mini project 2
2) fna1002x project (not urgent yet)
3) phoenix fest (source of headache), programme list, await banner from wenqiao after the midterm break, settle logistics & manpower problems
4) prepare for midterms
5) and more to come :x
ah, v-day has just passed. and this is the first v-day that i spend with dear, and of course it is my first v-day celebrated with love :P hee, me had some sort of treasure hunt with dear on 14 feb 0000hrs. dear gave me a nice card, and a really cute jigsaw puzzle that glows in the dark! haha, really like the present :P actually i like dear's efforts more haha.
hmm, 2 more days would be me and dear's 5th month le. but dear wun be free cuz she's going for some loh hei thing. well, too bad... take it as a chance for me to save money, though i would prefer not to. nvm, i still will prepare something for dear, but this time is free of monetary liabilities... hmm i am starting to talk in accounting terms hahaha.
hmm, this past month with dear wasn't without low periods. cuz somehow dear became angry with me for some senseless stuff i did or some things that i didn't do. hmm, in fact this whole month i was mostly in the lower end of my mood range. well i dun blame her, cuz partly also my fault. tough period of time, hmm yes it's over, luckily. hope this kind of period would not come again, or at least dun haunt me for a longer period of time.
hee, look forward to more time with dear, more smiles from dear, more love for each other. just wanna have more exciting, fun, loving moments with dear :P
ok, back to work... what a pathetic ending :x

1st wk of sch just passed
very quickly one wk of sch has just passed. it was a fine wk i believe, cuz i managed to do all my readings before and after the lectures. and i am now clearing next wk's pre-readings too :P
there were floorball trainings which were fun :P and later i am going to watch the girls play floorball :P next sunday would be our turn to play, and i believe that would be the last time of this academic year that i would be playing floorball... sounds sad, but i can play again in the next academic year, provided i manage to stay in hall next yr :P
the 1st 2 wks of school are usually quite free, so i am trying to make use of these 2 weeks to build up momentum so that when the 3rd wk comes, with labs and tutorials coming in, i can cope with ease :P it's all about time management and momentum :P
hope my momentum can last for 4 full months and it will be holidays again lols.
hmm, friday of the 1st wk was rather nice, cuz i managed to taste food that was cooked by my dear :p is nice nice :P hahaha. i miss the black peppered mussels. oops, my stomach is growling now lols. most of the day was spent in sch due to my late lecture at 4pm... but of course nite was enjoyable :P though towards the end at around 12 plus when i was sending dear home, i almost couldn't take it le, i still managed to reach home without falling asleep :P but upon reaching home, after checking some mail and stuff, i just fell asleep while watching nba highlights lols. this showed how tired i was lols.
my mum said i am always super tired after a wk of school... think this is rather true, cuz i always sleep a lot during the weekends, be it the main sleep or frequent naps on the sofa lols. i guess that's because i sleep only 7-8 hours during school, or even lesser when things get pretty busy like last sem... shall try to keep to 7.5 to 8 hours a day :P
ok it's 10 am liao, time to wash up, have some food then prepare to go back to hall le :P

school starts tomolo
very quickly, the school vacation is over. somehow vacations always pass very quickly for me :P tomorrow would be the start of a new semester, which is expected to be rather busy, even though i am still taking 5 modules...
had wanted to take 6 modules, but considering that i had not done as well as expected, i want to up my CAP this sem, so i have decided to stick with 5 modules. this also means that i would be doing 5 modules worth of workload each sem up till yr 4 sem 1. well ok lah, i prefer consistent work, rather than chiong-ing now and get sub-par grades, then slacking in upper years to find out that u can't do much to up the CAP.
going to make more effort in each module i have this coming sem. that is i will try to pre-read the lecture notes before going to lectures, so that i can better absorb the materials during lectures. i think this would result in more efficient learning. i haven't been able to do it due to laziness. i think i did some pre-reading in yr 1 sem 1, i think that can explain my perfect grades and without much difficulty in time management too. all in all, i think efficient learning is the key to good grades in uni, especially for pple who have commitments to hall, to r/s, like me :P
it will be another grueling 4 months. better time management and more efficient learning would be my goal this semester. and naturally it would lead to better grades with lesser difficulty and stress :P

reflecting on 2007 and looking forward in 2008
haha, now is 2008, and before it gets too late, i better reflect on 2007. hmm, basically i can't remember many trivial matters that happened in 2007, being a forgetful person...need some things to trigger those memories lols. since i can't remember, i might as well dun talk and think abot them lols. but i guess the 2nd half of 2007 would be rather fresh in my mind lols, cuz a lot of things happened, including getting together with my dear :P
go by "chronological" order (not accurate lols) would be a good idea, lazy to arrange all my thoughts lols.
hmm...
1) engin orientation week was fun :p met a bunch of fun pple and my dear :)
2) test of time management when 2 projects (digital design and database systems) were coming at me
3) further test of time management when RH cultural comm commitment comes hard at me
4) small performance with CME, a test of blending 二胡 and western instruments :)
5) floorball trainings, fun but tiring :)
6) set-up of IHG website, seemed daunting at first, but i managed to clear it without much help. an outside-of-academic application of SQL + database knowledge i have learnt :p
7) acknowledge dear's presence to my parents :P it was hard to open mouth, but some external motivation pushed me to do so :p
8) many life lessons in my relationship with dear :P
9) arranged caroling for RH, which included lots of logistics, lots of emails here and there, lots of callings; tiring but fulfilling when everything was all in order :)
10) drop of cap again :( this time my SAP was just 4.6...
it was rather disappointing, cuz i expected at least a 4.8. i dunno what happened, i guessed competition was just too tight...
got A+ for EE2006 and GEK1505. nothing to say about them, cuz i knew i aced them.
A- for CS2102, I guessed my mid term test wasn't good enough to place me in the top
10% to get an A, resulting in this sub-par result.
A- for EE2005, i still dunno why. cuz i really thought i aced the final paper which is 80%. i knew how to do all the questions, and i doubt there is any serious careless mistake. i have requested for a review, though i do not place much hope on this.
B+ for EE2009. My first B+ in NUS... rather shocked when i saw the grade, expected at least an A- for this module... i guess my answers weren't what they want ba. maybe they wanted more qualitative answers. maybe they wanted better derivation of formulae. maybe my answers weren't good enough. this module requires rather broad knowledge of signals, as well as a different approach compared to the other modules we are used to. i shall just take this as a lesson, cuz i didn't really make that much effort for this module.
new yr resolutions for 2008:
1) better control of my finance :P it has gone a bit out of control recently :(
2) improve my CAP :p hope i can achieve SAP 5.0 in this coming semester
- better time management
- more efficient studying
- no procrastination
- continue to be confident :p
3) further lasting+loving+fun relationship with dear :P
4) work towards a wonderful RH Phoenix Fest :P
5) improve my fitness by going for runs more regularly, be it with dear or with other friends :)
6) Chiong for anything i do :) this is the most impt thing i guess haha.
okie, i think that's all, if there are further more resolutions that i need to make, i guess they can all be included in the 6th resolution: CHIONG!
