37 Weeks

37 weeks = full term! That's very exciting! However, we do want little B to continue to bake for at least a couple more weeks. There's no sign of anything different so all is good. Measurements were right on this week and it looks like the extra amniotic fluid may have corrected itself. I'm feeling great and just enjoying these last few weeks of pregnancy. My stomach now grazes the steering wheel when I drive, so I'll be trying to limit that as much as possible. My favorite part of this past week was having 2 of my best friends over with their 6 month little girls to play. We had a great time and they took pictures of the girls with my belly. What a sweet picture for little B to have! Here's a picture along with this week's milestones:
How far along? 37 weeks
Maternity clothes? Yeah and even those are getting too short for my belly
Sleep: Reasonable, but I'm sleepy every afternoon
Best moment this week: best friends and their little girls coming over to play
Movement: lots of shifting around; looks like my belly is doing the hula
Food cravings: Oreos and milk
Gender: Girl!
Labor Signs: none
Belly Button in or out? still in/flat
What I miss: just being comfortable overall
What I am looking forward to: State Fair on Sunday!
Weekly Wisdom: rest a lot, and get dressed up, go out, and have fun while
I can!
Milestones: Full Term!!

36 Weeks

Another week gone by...all is good and this week's dr. appointment was uneventful, which I think is great! All is where it's supposed to be and no signs of pre-term labor or anything. Baby/belly is still measuring 3 weeks ahead, but just 1 week more than last - so that's expected. The dr. talked about a possible induction a week early (Oct. 14ish) but we'll keep an eye on B's growth and see what kind of progress is made. I'd like to wait until SHE is ready, but will listen to the dr.'s recommendations. So here's this week's update - not a lot of new info, but we're now less than 1 month away from our little girl's arrival!!

How far along? 36 weeks
Maternity clothes? Of course
Sleep: Can't be cool enough; achiness makes getting up for potty breaks more challenging
Best moment this week: only gained 1 pound!
Movement: pretty constant, seems to be stretching out as much as she can in there!
Food cravings: Oreo truffles and scalloped potatoes (Mom is making them for me tomorrow!)
Gender: Girl!
Labor Signs: none
Belly Button in or out? still in/flat
What I miss: getting in and out of bed easily
What I am looking forward to: resting up these next few weeks
Weekly Wisdom: even a little can be too much when it comes to doing things around the house; I just need to take it easy and do one thing at a time, with small rest breaks in between!
Milestones: less than 1 month until D Day!

35 Weeks

You know...35 weeks along means only 35 days left! This has been a pretty eventful week. I went in for my normal appointment on Monday and measured 3 weeks ahead. Yikes! So the dr. sent me for a sonogram on Tuesday. Everything looks great and the baby is measuring exactly 1 week ahead (which was the case at the 12 week and 20 week sonograms). I measured a little bigger because there's a little extra amniotic fluid but the dr. said there's no need for concern. We'll just keep an eye on it. Baby B was head down (yea!) and we got some great pictures of her. The sonogram tech estimated that she's about 5 1/2 pounds right now - so exciting! Anyways, here are some updates and pictures. How far along? 35 weeks
Maternity clothes? Yes
Sleep: Pretty good; still getting up about 3 times/night for a potty break
Best moment this week: seeing Baby B on the big screen!
Movement: less kicks more things sticking out - not sure what it is but feels pretty cool
Food cravings: Danish Wedding cookies (thanks to my husband for finding these after we looked at 2 other stores)
Gender: Girl!
Labor Signs: none
Belly Button in or out? still in/flat
What I miss: Not having to pull my shirt down (all my maternity shirts are even getting too short)
What I am looking forward to: Progress - having a better idea of when this little girl will arrive
Weekly Wisdom: Don't stress when you don't need to
Milestones: Starting weekly check-ups

34 Weeks

How far along? 34 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +25 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Yes
Sleep: actually, not bad. still waking up 2-3 times to go to the bathroom, but I've been able to go right back to sleep
Best moment this week: washed all clothes, blankets, etc. (who knew laundry could actually be enjoyable?!)
Movement: Still very regular and this is definitely the most enjoyable part of the pregnancy
Food cravings: anything (I'm pretty much hungry all th etime. I'm sure this will cause the weight gain to creep up a bit)
Gender: Girl!
Labor Signs: none
Belly Button in or out? in
What I miss: being able to stand up without grunting or struggling and walk up stairs without being out of breath
What I am looking forward to: Finishing up the nursery; I still need to buy storage baskets and liners and set them up in the changing table system. I also need to hang the wall letters and plan to do that this weekend. Finally, I need to figure out what other wall decorations to add and maybe hang some curtains.
Weekly Wisdom: I'm trying to enjoy my time to rest/sleep because I know it won't be as readily available in 6 short weeks.
Milestones: car seat installed and inspected!

33 Weeks

Holy Moly! Only 49 days to go according to my countdown ticker! Unbelievable! We're getting excited and trying to prepare for the arrival of our little one. On one hand, 7 weeks seems like tomorrow, and on the other hand, still sounds like a long time. But whatever it may feel like, I know it's right around the corner. So time to get in gear and start wrapping up all the little details still left undone!

Milestones for the last 2 weeks (I missed an update!):
How far along? 33 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +25 lbs. (I wasn't told my weight gain this week so I'm skipping this!)
Maternity clothes? Yes
Sleep: what's that? I'm not tired at night, wake up several times once I finally do fall asleep, then am tired in the morning. The waking every hour thing isn't fun (as I'm sure my new snoring/heavy breathing tricks aren't fun for Brad!)
Best moment this week: delivery of the changing table system!
Movement: I can feel and see her moving all the time - I just started feeling hard spots that feel like they could be a foot or hand or something. So weird, but totally cool!
Food cravings: orange juice
Gender: Girl!
Labor Signs: none
Belly Button in or out? in
What I miss: being comfortable
What I am looking forward to: organizing the nursery/changing table system
Weekly Wisdom: I have to remind myself not to get to the dr. too early (I'm usually really good about arriving exactly on time, but went early to run another errand first this week.) No matter when you get there, you still have to wait. Seems crazy when I'm actually only there like 10 minutes or less for my visit... This week's visit, I was there a total of an hour for a less than 10 minute appointment. But I did get my flu shot!
Milestones: More like "news" instead of milestones. At this week's appointment I was 32w5d but baby/belly measured around 35 weeks. Yikes! Dr. said we could be looking at a big baby. He'll keep an eye on her growth over the next 4-6 weeks, and if she's still growing by leaps and bounds, he'll do a sonogram to try to get a better idea how big she really is. Slow down lady! (ok not really - I'd be happy with a big healthy girl!)

31 Weeks

The week has been good so far; I had the last of my baby showers and all were wondeful! I'm lucky to have such great friends and family to help me prepare for and welcome our little girl! We're just about all set for her, just need a pretty major piece of furniture for her nursery and a few necessities.

Here are a few milestones for the week:
How far along? 31 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +25 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Yes
Sleep: Waking up a couple of times a night
Best moment this week: Seeing my friends at my baby shower - so much fun! Also, being told I was "all belly" when I've felt so huge for weeks now. Thanks ladies! Talk about great friends. :) Here's a picture of me at the shower - between 30 and 31 weeks.
Movement: all over
Food cravings: peaches
Gender: Girl!
Labor Signs: none
Belly Button in or out? still an innie, one night, it looked like it was a total innie as normal but then the next morning it was kinda flat again. I guess she was in different places both times!
What I miss: not having heartburn...
What I am looking forward to: washing all the little clothes!
Weekly Wisdom: enjoy eating now because once the baby arrives, I'm sure I'll be worrying about losing the baby weight!
Milestones: I guess you could call this a milestone - I started having Braxton Hicks contractions since Sunday (the day after I was talking about never feeling them!)

Maternity clothes? Yes
Sleep: Not comfortable but I have turned upside down in the bed (head is where feet usually are) and have had 2 nights of good sleep....who knows.
Best moment this week: last Friday, we heard and felt baby hiccups for the first time; it lasted at least 10 minutes and was pretty cool. I've felt them just about every other day since then.

Food cravings: cake
Gender: Girl!
Labor Signs: none
Belly Button in or out? still in/flat

Milestones: At my 29ish week appointment, my belly measured a little over 30 weeks. We'll see how the 31ish week appointment goes.

28 Weeks

It's amazing to say we've reached 28 weeks. Things are going great and I'm feeling good. I'm excited about the upcoming baby showers and seeing all of my friends and family that I haven't seen in forever! Here are a few updates for the week.
How far along? 28 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +22 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Yes; and I'm started to grow out of some of these too! Yikes!

Best moment this week: Hanging all Baby B's clothes on purple hangers
Movement: Very consistent
Food cravings: FOOD!
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out? still in
What I miss: Diet Sprite
What I am looking forward to: getting the changing table wall unit installed in the nursery
Weekly Wisdom: too much information may not be so great; we had our Prepared Childbirth class last weekend and I may have rec'd a little more information than I wanted to know...
Milestones: now seeing the dr. every 2 weeks

27 Weeks

Another week has gone by and it was an eventful one. I found out Monday that I didn't pass the 1-hour glucose screening so I had to go back in for the 3-hour test. Good news - I passed it! But it wasn't fun and I'm just glad it's all over with and I made it through without getting sick. (If I threw up, I would have had to start all over.) We went to our first baby class on Babycare Basics. It was pretty much a refresher, but we did learn a few new things, which is always good. We have the "big" class Saturday - Prepared Childbirth. It's from 9-3 and hope it goes well. We were also excited to get a glimpse of Baby B in 4D this week. The experience was neat, however, she wanted nothing to do with it. Her feet were in front of her face the entire time, and if they ever moved, then she would put her arm in front of her eyes. I think she wants us to wait to see her in October. :)

How far along? 27 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +22 lbs. (yea for gaining only 1 pound between dr. visits)
Stretch marks? Ummm...yup. Found a few little ones last night. :( Bummer.
Sleep: Pretty good
Best moment this week: Seeing Baby B in 4D
Movement: Every day!
Food cravings: fruit
Gender: Girl (confirmed!)
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out? still in
What I miss: having an unlimited wardrobe
What I am looking forward to: prenatal massage
Weekly Wisdom: empty stomach + bottle of sugary drink + 4 draws of blood over 3
hours = yuck
Milestones: passed the glucose test - woohoo for no gestational diabetes! Also
completed our first baby class - Babycare Basics.

26 Weeks

For those of you who were notified that Cynford's Blog has been updated, let me warn you - this is Cindy, not Brad. As you read in the last post from our vacation, Brad has retired but might make a comeback to blog our travels in 18 years. (Maybe I can get him to offer up a "celebrity post" about our baby...doubtful.)

It's been a couple of weeks since I've provided an update about Baby B. All is going well, we (her and I) are both growing each and every day. The heat is getting worse, so I'm trying to stay inside as much as I can. We took a 2 week vacation, as most of you already know, which some people like to call a "babymoon." We had a blast touring ballparks around the country and I didn't have to drive 1 mile of it! Thanks Bradford! :)

I continue to shop for baby girl clothes - I can see how it can easily become an addiction. Baby showers will be coming up next month and I'm so thankful to have such wonderful friends and family to host the parties. I can't wait to see everyone!

So that's it for now. Here are some of the milestones of the last couple of weeks:

How far along? 26 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +22 lbs. (I'm hoping to not go up much more than this---yeah right)
Maternity clothes? Yes
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Start out on my side like I'm supposed to, but end up on my back - no major consequences as of yet
Best moment this week: Scheduled a 4D ultrasound
Movement: Mostly in the morning and evening
Food cravings: I had my share of ballpark food over the last 2 weeks, which addressed my craving for nacho cheese
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out? kind of non-existent
What I miss: getting in and out of a car easily
What I am looking forward to: 4D ultrasound
Weekly Wisdom: swimming is heaven
Milestones: currently entering 3rd trimester!
