What is different?

Here is a picture of what I decided to do yesterday. I'll show you the finished project and you have to guess what is different than what you would expect to see. Alright, start guessing:

Well, if you guessed that there are tire tracks on the lawn, you win! Okay so the real thing that is missing, is our front deck. We, Devin, Shonda, and I (Craig) took out the deck. I have wanted to do it for some time and yesterday I got one of those man urges and decided to go ahead and take it out.

After I did about 20 minutes of it, I realized I probably did not have the endurance or strength to get it done in one day without help. So I texted Devin and he came over to help me demolish it. Here are some other pictures of Devin and I hard at work:

Overall, Shonda and I think it looks pretty good. We are excited to have less space to have to shovel snow from and it makes it feel more open. What are your thoughts?

Our next plan for the front yard is to remove the rocks from our secondary drive way, build some square foot gardening boxes (some of which we plan to put in the front next to the house where the deck used to be), and prune the trees. By the end of spring our yard will be ready to be enjoyed!

Yesterday was actually warm enough that the Girls (Shonda, Renae and Naomi) had a picnic out front and worked a little trimming the flowers down. It was a real treat to spend some time outside and to get some "work" done around the yard.
