Walking to work

Since moving out of campus, I've been having to take the bus to work, to uni. I never liked taking the bus. Driving my own car was always much more comfortable and to some extent convenient, despite the extra cost of parking and fuel. It has been a month now, and although its somewhat punctual, I can't say that its comfortable. Everybody have bad habits. Sometimes, they take it out in public just to show that they can, and that nobody could tell them otherwise. I'm talking to you, nose-picking, alcohol-smelling, crust-eyed, coughing/sneezing-in-your-face bitches. Keep-your-shit-together! Don't give me that "...I don't know you, and I don't care what you think..." attitude. If I were a citizen and ain't afraid of getting my ass deported, I'd kick some senses up your ass, yes up. cause apparently that's where your brain is, in your ass. Its doesn't happen everyday, but its often enough that you get annoyed.

walking to work
Yesterday, I overslept cause my phone died. I didn't have any sort of secondary, besides the morning sun hitting my face, but by then it was already too late. I missed my bus, and the next one is in 45 minutes. However, I'll be late for work instead. So I decided to walk to work. It was a dreadful 35 minutes walk in the summer sun. By the time I got there, I was sweating like a pig, smelling like yesterday's laundry and my feet hurt. Was it worth it though? Since I have yet to find anything to my liking on the bus rides to work, so yes, yes it was. I'll probably get used to it. The question is which, walking or taking the bus.

If it works for me, then it works for me.

Raining in Canberra

It had been raining for pretty much everyday of the week since March set foot in Canberra. Only yesterday, the sky cleared but now we got wind... anyway

Thanks to the rain, I've been listening to a lot of Rain(entertainer). It was back in the later years of high-school where I was introduced to his music from a friend who was/still is, a huge fan of Rain. Of course there was also MTV-AsianTakeaway (O.o). Music wise, I was a big fan of RnB since the mid 90's, with artist such as Usher, BoyzIIMen, Mariah Carey, TLC and Beyonce. Surprisingly, Rain had that similar flavour(some even say that he is the 'Usher' of South Korea) and I got into to his music right away. I even bought his album that comes with a giant poster of Rain, now on my sister's bedroom wall. There were bits of 'electronica' ,which kept it fresh and unique. Sadly RnB music of today, OD'ed on 'electronica' where some even has 'auto-tune'... which I don't get, aku tak paham do...

there was a little of sunshine this afternoon-evening, but now its back to rain...

The month of March

March is finally here, as the weather turns around for the cooler season of the year. I've been working casually in a newsagency(think MPH/Popular) for a while now and I wouldn't say the pay is good, but it covers the rent and then some.

(O.o)!......................................................................................... lesbiansmakingoutinthelibrary. nice~

...and on that note, yes I am in uni at the moment, making use of the facilities before the end of March, where I'll be officially no longer a student of this uni(what a mouth full). I always thought getting out of uni would be nice, as you seek out new adventures and meet new people. But boy was I naive to had thought so. I wouldn't say that I'm happy to get out of uni, sort of in the middle, on the fence if you will. I've been looking at jobs outside of my field of studies as well, who knows, I might get lucky.

The first week of March welcomed Canby with sodding rain and gusty winds that'll turn umbrellas into tulips. That's bad especially when umbrellas cost a bomb ($15-$30) around these parts. To the rain, please bugger off.

Heard this when I was getting my morning coffee. Shaggy!

50+ days of Summer

As Summer ascends to the heavens, I reflect on the memories that we (the small bunch who stayed for Summer) shared with Summer. The bitter-sweet memories that we shared made life on this lonely planet worth living. Being a tertiary student, its hard to bond sometimes with people coming and going every three months or. It is then when you realise that life is just simply too short to whine, to ignore, to say 'No'. Because everyone will do it. One day, they will ask themselves... "what if..." We cannot escape from it, but we could deal less of it if we just dive in to the flow of life and see where it takes us. I said "No" once too many time to Summer.

Summer showed me, of all things... Beauty. The awkward and silly moments, bundled with buckets of laughter. Thank you Summer, life has been beautiful.

As Helen Keller once said..."The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart".

To Summer, until we meet again... you will be missed

I dedicate this beautiful song from my yester-years to Summer.

Thoughts this summer

Summer started pretty much dead as I was zombiefied by assignments and workloads from my thesis supervisors. Thankfully, thesis submission was much much earlier than the exams. Thus once I submitted my thesis, I felt like a giant cork has been lifted off me air-hole as I once again is able to breath. What's done is done. December descended, bringing me good news telling me that I'm now, a graduate =) However, it also means unemployment =(  Been doing a bunch of casual jobs lately, earn some money and to past the time. I worked in an Indian restaurant being the kitchen hand as well as delivering flyers to homes in the suburb I live in.

Cockingtone Green Gardens

The family came for a visit as well as to attend my long overdue graduation. I started my studies in engineering in 2006, where I attended Inti College Subang Jaya. Initially I thought I'd be working by now with my diploma, but then there was the global financial crisis and poof, before you know I'm on a plane to Canberra. I slugged it out and finally got a way with my degree in 2011. So yea the family came and I really needed it. We went all out travelling around Sydney and Canberra. Mom and Dad definitely needed it after all their hard work raising two rascals. Its sad to see how much they aged over the years, I pray for their health every chance I get. I'll do my best to live my life, like how you lived yours.

After the family left, I've been doing a little soul searching. I had to make a decision, whether to return home or to soldier on onto uncharted territories. I decided to press forward although the destination is uncertain.  I've been given that opportunity and now it depends on me. How would I deal with it? What do I have to do to steal second base?

Summer: The great outdoors

Back in November, the summer air was filled with gusty cool winds and rain like no other summer I've experienced before. Usually by October, the air will be warm and dry and flies are abundant. A handful of them will literally hover around you, just for kicks. On one of my road trips, I saw a postcard that says "The Guide to Australian Wildlife" and the picture was just a bunch of flies...

Despite the cool weather, there were one or two days where the it just heats up. Break out the shorts and flip-flops, cause its a beautiful day. I never really appreciated a beautiful day before, not back home in the motherland. I'd stay indoors, whether at home or in a shopping mall somewhere. Back then I had all the time in the world, but no. Now, after constantly being indoors during the cooler months, you tend to see things in a different light. I was never fond of nature, but now I tend to think otherwise. During my studies, me and a team of students proposed that the future of household in Canberra and possibly around the world will be partially-subterranean structures integrated into Mother Nature. A way to combat the ever increasing global energy demand and to release some tension on the global energy crisis.

A friend and I went on a hike on one of these beautiful days, at a lake bout 10 minutes bus ride from uni. The view was spectacular. There is no place like home, and home is beautiful. Over here, its a whole different kind of beauty.

Music: Hyorin - I Choose To Love You

I've been listening to a bunch of R&B music lately, and one of the tracks that I kept going back to is this. Its by Hyorin, a member of South Korean pop girl group Sistar. Check it out.

2011 to 2012

A new beginning. It has been more than 2 months now since I graduated from university and I've been slugging it out in the real world doing odd jobs and such. I moved out of campus about a month ago and I've been living in a cozy little cottage at the edge of the city.

2011 was crazy. It was honours year and things often got out of control, it was a roller coaster ride. But mainly, 2011 was really an eye opener. The people that I met and the places that I've been. 2011 proved that the little things in life are not to be overlooked, because they can so often take your breath away and leave you dumbfounded.

… a little somethin-somethin, taken from the lyrics of Summer Girls by LFO...

Summer girls come and summer girls go,
Met you this summer and it started real slow,
Call me Silly Willy cause I can’t speak baby,
There was something in your eyes that drove me crazy,
Now I can’t forget you and it makes me mad,
You left one day and you’re never coming back,
Stayed all summer then went back home,
Without you here makes me feel home alone…

Pay attention to the little voices, the little gestures, the little things in life as they could lead, or pave the way to the BIG things in life.
