Thanksgiving Continued
Don't even ask why our Christmas card appears on our blog before the 2nd installment of my Thanksgiving post, you know I just do the best that I can do, and it's good enough!
As you know, the Recycled Mary Lou sunk after a short, but fun life. The next boat proved much more durable! It's name was The Fish Hunter, and it proved good in the water for MANY hours, and when on dry land still was a favorite play place.
When the kids weren't in the boat, we did have a few minutes to just stare at the pond and enjoy how beautiful it is.
Another favorite activity when the boat was "resting" (meaning that no grown-up would volunteer to go and ride in it with the kids) was badminton!
Nights were reserved for movie watching in bed with Grandpa...
I did go on the boat with the kids sometimes, and I did play a fair amount of badminton, but I must confess that I spent most of my time doing this...
and this...
Here's proof that I did go in the boat, but I tell you I was sea sick (or pond sick) for the rest of the day. Two little girls rowing the boat = going in circles for most of the time!!
Here's the resident kitty cat that lives by the pond...
Reports are that since we have left, the cat comes by the yard looking for Atticus. He and Atticus bonded as Atticus spent hours fishing by the pond.
It's hard to see from this picture, but seriously Atticus just spent hours casting with his fly rod over and over again. I don't think that he ever caught anything, but he sure did make a lot of friends. In addition to the kitty cat, he met several nice neighbors who come to the pond to either fly fish or do regular fishing. That is just like my little guy!
Here's Tiare's favorite tree...
Tiare's little friend Celeste who moved from Utah to Texas got to come over and play.
Tiare loved the hammock too!
One of my favorite memories is laying in the hammock with her as the sun set and counting the seconds between when the airplanes would fly over.
We did leave the pond for just an hour or so to drive to the Houston Temple...
We did come inside to eat Thanksgiving dinner too.
Here's the beautiful table that Emilia set...
Here are the kids being starving...
Here they are full...
Here are Chris' homemade pumpkin pies!
But the kids ate their special cookies that Grandma Emilia got them...
It was such a great trip!!
