Cutri Ski Bunnies 2007-08
This year, we got passes to Sundance--it's about 15 minutes from our house, and just 1 minute from the cabin. We skied a ton this winter! There was so much snow. Last year was our first year skiing, well for the kids and I. I never thought that I would do it, but I realized that it was a great way to be together as a family. I sure didn't want to just sit at the bottom of the mountain and miss out on all of that time with Tiare and Atticus. Some of the best times we have are just talking on the lift ride up.
We went to Alta a lot last year for "ski for free". Going to drive through at Wendy's was our special a pres ski activity! Our passes to Sundance this year made it so that we went at least 2 times per week. Tiare was in the ski school program through her elementary school--Atticus will start next year, though he swears he wants to snow board.
The kids are already pros, and Chris already was a pro. I keep up with them just enough. Now, they only want to go to the back mountain--no more first lift stop only for them! I heard an interview on NPR with the lady who wrote Reviving Ophelia--I can't remember her name. Anyway, she said that research says that adults who characterize their childhood as "happy" most often have happy memories of being out of doors with their families and going on family vacations. So, seems like skiing is a pretty good bet for a family to do. Of course it can be expensive, and is certainly not the only out door thing for families to do, but we do love it!
I have some great videos of the kids skiing, but can't figure out how to upload them to the blog yet--anyone know how?
New Year's Posted in March!
Julie, Al, Jack, and Max came for New Year's to our house. We had a fantastic time together. Julie is my sister, and they live in Hawaii. We had a great time hanging out and relaxing here at home and staying at the cabin and skiing.
The snow was a big change for them...winter wear not really a necessity in Hawaii, but definitely a must for our very snowy winter this year. The skiing was great, but perhaps our favorite activity of all was tubing at Solider Hollow. We did it the last time that they came to Utah too. We had such a great time. It is wonderful to get to spend time together and realize how much we enjoy each other even though we don't get to see one another very often. Really, it was such a great visit--we love them so much. Happy New Years!

Christmas Posted in March
Mary and Joseph and their donkey went to Bethlehem.
There were lots of shepherds.
One shepherd was particularly lovable.
Then angels came.
Soon, baby Jesus was born.
Two beautiful angels were very pleased with how things went that special night.
The next day, the fun began!
Santa came and stuffed stockings!
He brought gifts...
How did he know I wanted this?
And one of these too? Actually, Aunt Tiffy knew!
Aunt Sara made me a special book about my baptism!
We had a great Christmas!
Christmas 2007, we went to Arizona to join the Bybee Family Fiesta de Navidad! We had such a wonderful time spending the holiday with our wonderful family friends--this term means that they are our friends and our family! There were more kids than you can imagine, more good food, fun, and laughs. Just what the doctor ordered!

Thanksgiving Posted in March!
We had a great time in San Francisco this past Thanksgiving, 2007! I've been there lots of times, but it has never been my favorite city--that changed this trip. We stayed in the Marina District in an apartment of Tiffany's neighbor (Tiffany is Chris' sister). We went to San Francisco to meet our two new twin nieces--daughters of Tiffany and John. Don't ask me how we ended up with no pictures on my camera of the girls and my kids together. We flew out to San Francisco with Sole which was so fun. GG met us there. Hanging out as a family and seeing the twins was definitely the best part of the trip. But shopping at Zara and H&M was also really fun. It was a great week!! -P.S. can anyone tell me how to get this dumb underline to go away!
