One Black Whisker.

It was a great Easter weekend.

She specifically requested one whisker to be black and the rest white.
Who am I stifle her creative face paint fashion?

He only eats the frosting.

She thought the church egg hunt was a party for her.
I didn't correct her. It felt too mean.

(That's a hard boiled egg, which he later ate whole. Shell and everything.)

Asher's new passion in life is finding eggs on the ground.

We had to leave church early because he couldn't leave other kids eggs alone.
It was quite the scene.

It Did Something To Me.

Jared's most recent app, ABC Play, is about sports.

I saw this video on the app. It did something to me.

I've watched it at least 30 times.

I'll never be the same.

It makes me want to jump rope really bad.

Really.

Asher's Olympic Life.

Dear Olympic Committee,

You should consider me for the Olympic team for many reasons...

First, I was born freaky strong and could do pull ups as a baby.

I've only gotten better with age.

I am willing to jump off of anything. And I land my jumps. Mostly.

I'm eye candy.

I'm regularly attacked by women of all ages wanting to touch me.
It's the hair.
I'll look good on camera.
I'd be a cute face for America's team.

I can do tricks.

I was born without fear.

And I can dance.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Asher Allen

Hannah's Neon Life.

If Hannah was a color, she'd be neon yellow.
The super bright neon yellow that almost hurts your eyes to look at.

She is turning into one cool girl.

She's fun. She's helpful. She's funny.

We love her.

But,
the age of insults has started.
I write many of them down for memory sake.

I quote:

You peanut butter jelly Mama!!
Mama, you're a poo poo cat.
You rooty tooty all the day!!
You're a poo pod.
You're a raspberry finger.
And today she called Asher a butt.

Don't worry. She gets in trouble.

She says way more nice things than mean things.
She is a very complimentary toward others. Especially me.
She recently told me, "Mama, you're my favorite color."
And I think she tells me she loves me at least 20 times a day.
And I get at least a dozen kisses.
And even more hugs. And I hear her say nice things about me to other people.
It melts my heart.

She still loves bugs.
Even a whole winter later with only a few in sight. She'll find dead bugs and play with them. She doesn't know it yet, but we got her a ladybug farm for her birthday. Comes with 15 ladybug larve. I can't wait to give it to her.

She's very loud. Her normal volume of talking makes my ears vibrate.

She plays with Asher and includes him on her random made up adventures. They have become best friends.
I now think it's great to have kids so close in age. (I didn't always think that)

Hannah loves preschool. She goes everyday. It's always fun to pick her up and hear about what she did. She is so excited to show me her pictures and do her homework at night.

Hannah loves to sing. She makes up songs.

Hannah has a ton of friends. They often request play dates with her. She plays so well with others. She makes friends super fast. Even with total stranger kids at the park. She isn't afraid to talk to others. I think she will be quite a social person in life. Hmmm... wonder where she got that from?

She's our girl.

Jared's Three-Hat Life.

Jared is in demand.

He wears lots of hats everyday.

The family hat.

And the full time work hat.

The full time school hat.

He graduates next month. Wahoo!

He still rides his bike 9 miles to school almost everyday.
He recently had his personal best time of 26 something minutes.
That's half the time it takes to ride the bus. Go Jared!

Ultimate frisbee is back in season.

Under interests on Jared's resume it actually says,
"Anything with a frisbee."

He's good at wearing all his hats.

Lisa's Go Go Go Life.

I'm Busy.

I'm tired.

My brain hurts. But in a good way.

Something recently happened to me.

I was given an amazing opportunity to become a personal trainer here in my neighborhood. It all came out of nowhere. But I love it. It's fascinating. And I can't get enough of it.

It's perfect for me with two little kids at home.

If I can just survive the next 2 months of cramming for the certification test, life will slow down a bit and normalize.

My life is breakfast, play, lunch, preschool, study, park, dinner, work, bed.

And somewhere in there is cleaning, cooking, training, church stuff, friends, and a husband.

It's go go go.

But I love love love it.

Asher's Life in 30 Seconds.

Dear Asher,

Your version of "terrible twos" is adorable.
It's nothing compared to your sister's. So sorry.
But A for effort.

And I say NO, because I love you.

Top 10 Of Taste.

I love food.

It's like a best friend to me.

Except I eat my friend after saying hi.

Here are some of the best things my tongue has ever seen.

(In no particular order)

1. Shrimp and chips.

From Pete's Fish and Chips. I could drink their sauce.

2. Totinos pizza.

I am fully aware that it is the cheapest most unhealthy frozen pizza available.
Have you had it?
It's a current closet addiction of mine. Literally. I've eaten it in a closet to avoid sharing.

3. Curry noodles.

From Noodles Etc. I made a pretty close copy-cat recipe last night. I'll share it once I perfect it.

4. Peanut Butter Fudge ice cream.

The Target brand Archer Farms. The best kept secret at Target.

5. Prawns.

Hey buddy. Wanna come over for dinner? I'll draw you a nice hot bath.

The difference between a shrimp and a prawn is that they are totally different creatures that look exactly alike.
Both taste great though.

6. Truffle french fries.

From Rockit Bar & Grill. They are even good as leftovers.

7. Sugar Cookies.

Milk must be present for enjoyment.

8. Beef Brisket.

From Joe's BBQ. I could also drink their sauce. I think I might have once.

9. Andes mint ice cream.

I used to hate mint desserts. This ice cream converted me.

10. Doughnuts.

Maple please.
I don't know why, but the long johns taste better than the circles.

What's on your top 10 of taste?

P.S. The first alternate on my list would be Captain Crunch with Crunch Berries.

Picture of The Month - April

True love is sharing a chair for a whole movie.

This is probably a picture only their parents could love.
When I see this picture I can't help but smile.
