Spring and Summer part 2

We've had such a fun spring and summer so far. I have a bunch of photos to share and I'll add some stories with them.

Dad so tired from work, fell asleep on the couch and Sophie couldn't
help but cuddle him while he slept. So cute.

Sister Reed. I love her! She spend like 5 months here in
Vernal before she transferred. They came and got me to
hang out with them the day before she left for Roosevelt. She wanted
a stuffed dinosaur to remember Vernal so it was my going away gift
for her, this is her silly excited face.

Crew loves to color.

Sophie's hello kitty birthday cake, don't look too close at details,
I did not take the time I should have to make it. haha.

practicing her batting at Target. About to hit her cousin
Kian in the face.

My mom and Chuck fishing in the Keys. Chuck is
holding my mom's tuna, because he can never catch
a fish as big as her, hahaha.

This is my Bestie Tawnie. She looks ticked off in this picture, but it's the only one that shows most
of her dress. She couldn't find a dress that she liked for her brother in law's wedding that was gray
and in her price range so I made this one for her. It looks so hot in person! Totally form fitting, I love
the pleated neck line too.

Crew fell asleep in the high chair. I had to take a picture of this because it
NEVER happens. He is the hardest kid to get to fall asleep.

We have little retaining walls next to our stoop that hold our flower beds. I had the water running on the
grass and I was trying to beat the sprinkler before it hit me to turn it off and one of the pavers on the retaining
wall flipped off and and buffed it hard core. I was so embarrassed. This is the damage. I didn't beat the sprinklers
in case you were wondering.

I wanted to keep this picture. It makes me laugh. This is one of the sister missionaries,  Sister Robertson.
They came to borrow some church music and a GPS for their trip to Provo and I was like "Dang it! You
have to come when my laundry is all over my couch." Sister Robertson was like, well let me help you fold it.
I was freaking out and Curtis knew she wouldn't give up so he jumped on the laundry so she couldn't touch it
because he knew she wouldn't give up.  Quick thinking on his part, it was so funny at the time.

Crew's kissy face.

Sophie and a couple of Tawnie's kids, Karlee and Isabelle running through the sprinklers.

Sophie being silly.

Tawnie and her kids Isabelle, Brooklyn, and Karlee when we went to the river up Dry Fork canyon.

Sophie and Crew throwing rocks in the river. Crew could do this all day.

This is Crew's excited face. Soooo funny in person.

Sister Robertson shooting my mom's bow at our house. She's from Wisconsin.

Sister Gulbranson shooting. She's from Canada.

A quilt I made for the quilt shop I work at. Super simple, but I loved doing the appliqué.

Petco just opened in Vernal, we often take trips to the mini zoo.

Vernal had a free Fuel concert at paddle fest. It was so fun! This is crew running around on the grass at the concert.

Our friends Steve and Kerissa's kids Jessa and Savannah with Sophie on our way to paddle fest.

Me and Curtis on the bus.

I got the worst sunburn of my life at the lake the other day when me and Tawnie and our friend Angela took
our kids to the lake. So much fun!

My friend Rachel's kids birthday party. I about died when I saw Crew stealing straight from the cake.

He's saying YAY! His giant plate full of the cake he compromised.

All of Mine, Sue and Tawnie's kids at the dinosaur. It's dressed up for the Dinosaur  Roundup Rodeo.

We were going to get brag tags for all of the unplugged stuff we've done this summer.
You can tell Millie wasn't impressed.

Watching a butterfly at cobble rock park.

Millie got a make over.

Crew's cake goatee at Jana's 5th birthday party.

On our way to meet Grandma in Provo to pick up Sophie, I gave Crew a donut to eat for Breakfast on the way. He had glaze ALL over. Bad idea.
We've been having the funnest summer ever and we hope you all have been too!

Spring and Summer Part 1 The chicken diaries

We've been having so much fun this summer that I haven't even taken the time to get on and blog, or read blogs. Mostly a giant picture update with explanations. First off chickens have been a big part of our spring and summer. We are obsessed! It is sooo fun! We've even got some friends and family into raising chickens and now they are just as nuts as we are. Haha. Here's the building of our chicken coop.

Roof framed and sides up.

Cleaning door cut and tar paper on.

starting the run,  painted, roofing mostly done. I still have to do the ridge cap.

Our first eggs

We're trying to document our yard for before and afters when we get it all awesome.

run finished, trim up.

Nesting boxes

Fancy Pants. She's a favorite.

These two pullets were favorites, unfortunately one got taken
off with by a dog and the other died of heat stroke. :/

Our newest, most expensive pullet. We named her Fergie because she is rumpless,
and Fergie sings the song, My Humps, but she has no humps. haha

Fergie

dirt bathing

Crew found the egg basket and made a huge mess!

We have a sprinkler on our garden and the kids were trying to drink from it.
Soooo funny watching them get sprayed in the face.

Sophie sings Fergie to sleep all the time. It's so cute, she really
falls asleep.

Our friend Nelson that we got obsessed with chickens. He borrowed Fergie
and Kim to show his family how to hypnotize chickens. haha
As you can tell we have had so much fun with this little adventure and we're feeling a little bit closer to being self-sufficient. I can't wait til I can have a whole chicken farm. lol
