Guard Dog

I finally got myself some protection from the Hampden Hoodlums:

We called the police TWICE last week, so I figured it was about time.

my crazy eyes and crystal's crazy teeth.

i also have a photo of eric and his girlfriend, BUT i feel like i probably shouldn't post photos of someone without permission (sorta against the law or something?). however i will say that it's very, very cute.

Nags Head

So hopefully these will bring back some memories for the Powell fam - the sand dunes at Nags Head. I think Mike still claims he's never been to Nags Head on vacation with the family, but I pretty distinctly remember everyone being there.
These are photos from this summer.

This one is quite clearly not the sand dunes, but I very patiently waited and repeatedly tried to get a decent photo of the lightning storm we were having one night. This as good as I could get.

Olympic Trials

I know these are all pretty much boring pool pictures - but just think that not too long ago, NCAA basketball was being held in this same place. They built TWO pools in the arena - each took 12 days to put up. Very cool place.

Doesn't really capture the whole effect, but this is during finals - all these crazy lights and a waterfall and music.

BIRTHDAY!

Today is Chris' 26th birthday and it just so happened to be AMAZINGLY gorgeous outside (probably to make up for the Nor'easter from last year). We went to DC to see the cherry blossom trees - highly recommend this to everybody. We've decided to make it an annual tradition from now on. The 75 degree temp, no clouds in the sky, and no humidity probably helped. Also visited the WWII Memorial, which we had never seen before ... it was pretty amazing. Ended the day with dinner at Lemongrass (in Baltimore), a long walk around the harbor, ice cream at Haagen-Dazs, and a new episode of "The Office." Perfect birthday.

Happy New Year!

Some of our pics from New Year's Eve. And YES we did see a dead body, about 3 feet away, around 12:10am. That's an awesome way to start off 2008 ....... love Hampden .....
