11. How would you explain me to someone who had to find me in an airport? My height, skinny, long dark hair, probably talking to some random person, will either have her Ipod or her phone out, will probably be in a dress or a skirt looking way too cute to be in an airport.
12. Do you know what my favorite movie is? Hmmm… I don’t think I know this one…
13. Have you ever heard of a celebrity look-a-like for me? Who? I cant think of anyone you’ve been told you look like…. ????

7. Are you in love with anyone? I feel like this is sensitive subject matter… lol
8. Who is your favorite band and/or singer? Eric Church or John Mayer
9. How would you respond to somebody talking bad about you? I would probably just feel bad for a minute and then brush it off.
10. How would you respond to someone talking bad about someone you care about? Not so Sweet Caroline would come out. Don’t mess with the people I love… that is worth confronting.

20. Does your first impression of this person still hold true? Not at all!
21. How have you changed since meeting this person? I’ve pretty much grown up right in front of her eyes lol. I am a lot smarter and mostly a lot more sure of myself, who I am and what I want.
22. What is something you spend too much money on? Clothes, probably.
23. Do you think the person filling this out about you will say they are one of the people closest to you? I would hope she’d say that!
24. Has the person filling this out about you seen you cry? More than she probably has cared to. Secret is out: I’m a crier.
25. Describe yourself in three words? Loyal, outgoing and brunette
She did pretty well, huh? (: (:

tell me whatcha know about dreamin
I am opting out of today's "picture"- I was trying to think of something to put in place of the one thing that pops in my head, but that's not being honest... now is it?
With that... here is what played in my head when I thought of today's "question". Obscure? You betcha.
stamp my passport, please.

I was trying to decide on ONE place that I'd like to visit and it became an hour and a half of me looking at beautiful places- dreaming of going to all of them. I compiled photos of only a few of them. I have travel plans much larger than one place... I hope to follow through with them.

Lucas family ribcage

I really didn't want to do todays post and draw attention to this. I especially didn't want to put up a picture of my ribs... so I didn't. I know, it seems strange... my ribcage is my largest insecurity? It really isn't a big deal- and most people don't notice, but I HATE it. I have a LARGE ribcage. A ROUND, "barrel" (as my mom calls it), ribcage. Since I've lost some weight I'm not AS bothered by it, but still I am. There is not a damn thing I can do it about it. Seriously. They aren't FREAKISH or anything- they just don't match the rest of my small frame- small hands, small wrists, small feet, tiny arms, etc. Sigh.
The origin of the ribs: my Grandma Troester. Love the woman dearly, but why did I have to be the granddaughter to inherit this? haha.
According to the doctor who was trying to make me feel better about it, having a rounder/larger ribcage will have it's perks. When I have children my pregnancies won't be as painful because those babies won't be pushing up inside my too-small ribcage. Doesn't really make me feel a whole lot better, but it is something I guess.
Here's to that Lucas family ribcage (:

I'm that diet girl
Day 17: A picture of something that has had a huge impact on your life recently

I decided it was time to get into shape. I went from being on the too-skinny side, to gaining 50 lbs and being completely self conscious about it. I have spent the last few years feeling disgusting and having very little self confidence. I decided 2011 was about getting to where I want to be. March 2 and I am down 20 lbs.
myfitnesspal.com has been a great resource to help me get here. There are a lot of people with similar goals providing a support system, weight loss ideas and a calorie counter. I'm not to where I want to be yet, but I am well on my way. (:

Patrick Henry Hughes

I'm not gonna lie... I was gonna put Justin Bieber. I'll stop right there though. I watched a special on ESPN on Patrick Henry Hughes. Patrick was born blind and crippled, and now "marches" in the Louisville marching band. Really, I want a picture of his Dad too. His Dad goes to marching band practice everyday with his son and pushes him in his wheelchair so he can perform. Patrick has had so much working AGAINST him and he hasn't let it hold him back from doing what he loves.
God is love.

God wasn't available for a photograph... but God loves me. He loves you too. My largest strength and happiness in life is knowing this. No matter what I'm going through I know He has a plan for me. My Dad has told me time and time again: "The Lord always provides"- I believe this wholeheartedly. When nothing in my life seems to make sense, and no one seems to understand, I know He does. He knows what I need. I will be the first to admit I need to be better about "feeding my soul". God has never turned his back on me, and I need to make sure I never run from Him.
my boo.
This is my boyfriend, Ian William McCandless:
This is more of how I know him and what I love him for:

I figured day 14 was a great opportunity for me to formally introduce him on my blog. I met Ian many many years ago- like Elementary school days. Back then he was just Whitney's cousin and one of the boys that were always around (and sometimes terrorizing our sleepovers). Fast forward a handful of years and this is the person that I am in love with. Ian is in the Air Force. He is currently in Wichita, KS (McConnell AFB) and hoping to get out of there soon. That is definitely NOT the most interesting thing about him though. He makes me laugh. He quickly became someone I could talk to effortlessly- even before we were dating. He is my best friend. He has perfect teeth...and lips. He sings off key with me in the car. He can be hard headed at times, but I love him anyway. He takes xbox a little too seriously sometimes. He wants to see the world. Really, he wants to do a lot of the same things I do. He makes me happy. He loves me too.
turn the quiet up.

Love me some Eric Church!! I may be borderline obsessed with this man. I am a part of the "Church Choir" (his fanclub), was front row at his concert (HE SANG TO ME! You can ask anyone that was there with me!) and I got to meet him on his tour bus. Yeeeeee!!!!!!
happiest place on earth

What a tough one. I love LOTS of things. (: Disneyland, however, is on the top of this list. How could you NOT love the happiest place on earth? I have been lucky enough to go multiple times- most recently on my 23rd birthday a month and a half ago. There is no feeling like hitting Main Street, breathing in that So Cal air and getting your Disney on with people you enjoy being around. I look forward to going back!!!

winter bluuuuues

I may live in the wrong place. I hate snow. Not even just "come March I hate snow"... I just flat out hate snow. There are maybe one or two things I hate more than dealing with snow. Scraping off my car? Hate. Driving in it? Hate. Freezing in it? Hate. Dressing for it?
Hate. Hate. Hate. Hate.
Bring on the sunshine.

"wanna give me a tattoo?"

I'm not really sure what "most messed up things" means- but the person I do the most RANDOM things with is probably Alycia. Between Rockies vs. Red Sox on the playstation, chasing deer behind MedUSA, pelvis hug chats and the time we used my sharpies to give her a half sleeve while pretending we were at a John Mayer concert.... we can be weirdos.
PS: do you like it? Like it? luv it? Luv it? love it? or Love it?
what i should've said

This is long overdue, and probably not the best format to do so, but I should've thanked you a lonnnggg time ago Dani. I will be forever grateful for everything you helped pull me through. You were my rock in some of the hardest times I have had to go through... one in particular. I never meant to take that for granted and I am sorry that I never expressed my appreciation for it all before. From the bottom of my heart- thank you. I will never forget it.
MOUSE PILLOW!
friends forever because you know way too much

Alycia, oh Alycia. You, especially after today, know WAYYY too much about me. An embarrassing amount. The things that I am okay sharing with you are probably not even appropriate, but I am glad I have you to confide ANYTHING in. You help me find answers for the "tough questions"...and never judge me. (You've even accepted my love for Justin Bieber)
"all the crazy sh*t i did tonight..."
day 04... err... night 04
Day 04: A picture of your night
(picture to be inserted when available)
I am running behind on all of these... playing catch up, bear with me.
I flew in to Wichita Kansas on Day 04! My night consisted of spending time with Ian- something we don't get to do many nights. (: (: (:

one tree hill

I have spent the last five minutes trying to decide if I should put "One Tree Hill" or "Dexter". I'll admit it... I've been disappointed with this season and if it wasn't for my dedication for the last 7+ years I wouldn't continue to watch it. However, OTH has been like a good friend to me. This is the only show that I have made a point to own all of the seasons, watched every episode MULTIPLE times and feel like the characters belong to me somehow. I've taken part in countless OTH marathons in misc basements. Still to this day, while watching re-runs on the Soap Network, when "I DON'T WANNA BE..." starts playing I get chills. Now if only I could get Ian to agree to a One Tree Hill marathon.... one day.

Whitney, my Whitney.
been closest with for the longest

I met Whitney Nicole Stott (now Lucero) almost 13 years ago. Whitney and I were best friends from the day that we met, inseparable until that day she moved after 7th grade and will be friends forever. I look back and regret not keeping in better touch with her throughout high school (once every few months...) but am glad that in our (young) adult lives we have managed to reconnect and become better friends than ever. It doesn't matter how much time goes by, Whitney still seems to know how I tick, understands me and knows how to make everything feel better. Whitney is a safe place in my life and there are very few people like her. I thank God for you, Whitney. You will remain my best friend until the day that I die and I would do anything for you. I miss and love you girl. Can't wait to see you again.

silly little blog games: day 1
DAY 01: A picture of yourself with 15 facts.

1. It was recently pointed out that I wear some kind of lace at least half the days of the week.
2. The winter blues really do affect me. I am much happier in the sun.
3. Turns out I am more of a hopeless romantic than I realized.
4. I have caught the fever. Bieber Fever!
5. I may be on the market for a new favorite NBA team. The Jazz break my heart, but I can't seem to cut them loose. This isn't a healthy relationship.
6. Clean sheets rock my world.
7. I have been told by 4 people in the last week that I look like Katy Perry. I can honestly say that I DON'T, but I do wish I had her boobs. They are unearthly.
8. If I wasn't so crazy about that boyfriend of mine I would go after Daniel Tosh (No, Alycia! He is NOT gay), Liam Hemsworth or Eric Church.
9. I have become an (even more) obsessive calorie counter. It is paying off.
10. I have this habit of over analyzing everything... I'm working on it
11. I want a dog named Tulo. One day it will happen.
12. I make mental notes of where songs would play in the soundtrack of my life. I hope to get rich so I can hire someone to follow me around and DJ appropriately.
13. Spicy upside down shrimp can fix most things.
14. I may have an addiction to chapstick... and flossing.
15. Long distance relationships aren't for sissys, but I feel like we are doing a great job at it. I love you Ian. I know it takes some patience with me some days, (hey... it goes both ways! haha) but you really are my better half.
