FINALLY DONE!!!!

We have been working on Halli's room for at least 3 months. Actually it is probably 4 months. We had some problems with leaking in her room, but finally got it figured out so we could move forward with the work in there. The transformation is complete...kinda. I just need to get some decor for one wall, new blinds, and some curtains. But here it is in all it's glory!!! AC#12

The Number 4

Disclaimer-I am totally using this idea from a friend...hope you don't mind Ashley. You are a genius for thinking of it.

A little over 4 years ago Carson entered our lives. (yes his birthday was a week an a half ago, but we've been a little busy...I'm late on this post, but oh well!) He has brought us laughter, tears, smiles, pain, giggles, headaches, and heartaches...but mostly laughter. Thanks for being the funniest kid on the planet!
To honor our little man here are
"Carson's Top 4's"

4 things we did for his Birthday

1. Spiderman birthday party. We went all out!
2. Got him his first bike-spiderman of course
3. Ate pizza
4. Went bowling-his favorite family activity

4 things Carson said today

1. La la la la don't mess with my heart
2. Would you get over here and rescue me (telling me to get off the bed while playing super heros...what I can't rescue you while lying down? Ha-he underestimates my abilities)
3. No Halli, you can't hit me
4. I LOVE my new room! (We rearranged his room today)

4 reasons Carson whined today

1. He couldn't have hot chocolate at the exact moment he decided he wanted it (yes, it does take a minute or two to actually make it!)
2. Halli bopped him on the head-repeatedly
3. It was time for nap. Yes, my 4 year old still takes naps :)
4. He couldn't play the Wii-before nap

4 times Carson made me laugh today

1. When he came running into my room this morning with his blanket over his head
2. He told me he wanted a honey, peanut butter, and bread sandwich
3. Asked Halli where her candy went...of course she had eaten it in 2 seconds flat
4. Immediately asked if he could play the Wii after waking from nap

4 things I remember when he was born
1. He's perfect. The most beautiful baby ever born.
2. Where did the red hair come from?
3. It was all totally worth it!
4. How am I going to take my finals (he was born the day before finals started)

4 things we love about Carson

1. How thoughtful he can be. He is always giving me compliments on the things I do-like the tutu I just made for Halli 2 days ago. He said "mom, it is so beautiful!"
2. His sense of humor. He is constantly making us laugh. He's had such a fun personality since he was a baby.
3. How much he loves Halli...even though she is constantly trying to bother him
4. He is 100% boy.

Thanks for the wonderful 4 years. You have truly enriched and blessed our lives!

tutu

I have been slacking so bad on blogging this past month. I did good for a couple weeks, but I've only been posting once a week for a little while. Things have just been busy for us here. We've been having too much fun lately I guess.
I still need to make a post for Carson's actual birthday. I'll do that tomorrow, but for tonight I just wanted to get my AC project up for the week. I made Halli a tutu for Christmas, and I have another one that I will put together this week. I am excited about how it turned out, and think she will love dancing around in it! Here is AC#11

Birthday Party

We had Carson's birthday party yesterday, and he had a really great time. He wanted a spiderman party so we had everything spiderman here yesterday. We played pin the spider on the web, did a web walk (like cake walk), and let the kids swing at a spiderman pinata. We also had spiderman decor, cake, and prizes. It was a fun time for all of us. He was really excited for the party, and asked about it everyday. I'm glad it is over so he won't keep asking how many days left. Here are a couple pictures of the celebration.
I never posted about our Thanksgiving. It was really great this year. Ryan's parents drove down from Michigan and surprised the kids and Ryan. I knew about it, and planned on them coming. It was a wonderful surprise for everyone, and we enjoyed having them here. They did most of the cooking for Thanksgiving, and played with the kids everyday so it was more like I was on vacation rather than them! We appreciated them driving the 15 hours to spend the week with us!

And finally here are my projects from the past 2 weeks. I made some Christmas magnets with my mother in law while she was here, and then this week I refinished a little rocking chair for Halli's room. I just realized I haven't taken any photos of my magnets...so I'll post that tomorrow, but here is the chair. After looking at this photo I realized I need another coat of paint on it so I'll have to do that this week. AC #9 and #10
Before (purchased at a garage sale for $5!)

After-painted to match Halli's room...which will be complete this week! I will have it posted as my AC challange for the upcoming week...even though it has taken 2 months to complete. It has been a work in progress for a long time thanks to the leak we had in there. But it is almost done and I'm excited to show the transformation. So be sure to check back for it!

I haven't forgotten about my blog...I've just been super busy for the past little bit. I have been doing my AC projects, but I haven't posted them on here. I will do it soon. I just wanted to make a quick post to ask for addresses. I will be sending out Christmas cards soon so if anyone would like one please send me your address either as a post on here, or to my email tiffani24@gmail.com. Hope everyone is having a great December so far!

Busy Birthday week

Ryan celebrated his birthday last Tuesday (the 17th), and I had a busy time getting ready for it. I was running around cleaning the house, making the cake, a crown, a birthday sign, wrapping presents, and making sure the kids were happy and entertained. It was a busy day, but I had a fun time getting it all together. Ryan went to work then came home and was crowned king then opened his presents.
Afterwards, Ryan and I went out for dinner-without the kids-that was nice! I took him to Bonefish grill, and he loved it. I don't like fish so he never gets to eat it...I thought it would be ok for him to have something he loved for his birthday. I got a delicious steak. It was a wonderful place to eat, and I would definitely go back. The whole place didn't reek of fish so I didn't mind it at all! We returned home and had cake and ice cream with the kids then put them to bed, and we watched a movie. I think he had a pretty good birthday this year. (please pardon the blurriness of the photos. I apparently had a hard time taking pictures that day)
On another note, Carson slipped down the stairs yesterday, and broke his fall with a side table. His lip didn't take the beating too well. It was bleeding pretty good so I look him to the doctor. She prescribed popsicles. As you can imagine, Carson was thrilled! She also suggested he drink out of straws-another thing Carson loves to do anyway. The nurse gave Carson a coupon for a free frosty, and another one for a free kids meal at Applebee's. I guess it was worth the $20 co-pay! He is doing just fine today, but I can't help but laugh everytime I look at him. Here are some photos from this morning.
I laughed so hard when I looked at this picture I took...he makes such funny faces all day long.
Lastly, here is AC project #8. I'm late again getting it posted up here. I made one on Thursday to take to a "project exchange" activity thing we had at church. (You make something, bring it, then switch with people). I forgot to take a photo of the sign I made so I just whipped one up for me today and here is the result. I'm glad I decided to make one for me cause I really wanted one...although I don't want it to snow.

Fall Flowers

I have been wanting to make some cute hair clips for Halli and I for a while, and I finally got the chance to do it this week. I got a few colors of material from JoAnn's and made these. You can't really tell from the pictures but they are black, white, and deep purple. AC #7
I want to make some more, but this is all I got around to this time around. I'll definitely be making more for Halli. I got the idea for this from one of my new favorite sites Pepperblossom Decor definitely go check it out.
It was a busy week for me and the kids-running around almost everyday doing errands. It was just a bunch of little things we needed to do, but it kept us really busy. Tuesday is Ryan's birthday so I have been trying to prepare for that and figure out what I want to do for him. Hopefully it will be a fun (as fun as it can be for a weekday) day for him!

Creative Corner

So...we have a basement. Our house is a split level so there are 3 levels to it, and then a basement. We spend all our time on the 3 levels. The basement has 4 "rooms". A utility room where the furnace, hot water heater, and whatever else in in there are. There is a small office I guess you could call it-it has no windows, and it is probably only 7' x 7' or so...we use it for our food storage area/tornado shelter :). The third "room" is unfinished and was used by the previous owners as a work shop area. Ryan is going to start work on it this winter and turn it into a "man cave" He's got some sweet ideas for it so I'm excited...as long as I'm allowed in! It is a pretty big room though and will make a nice bedroom if it is not being used as a man cave. The last room in there is MINE. A requirement when we were looking for houses was that it have at least 4 rooms so I could have somewhere to set up my scrapbook/craft room. So I have turned a dreary basement bedroom into a place I can go to do my projects and be alone. I just finished it tonight and am excited to show my transformation. Here is my AC project #6!
I don't know why it looks like the hallways is a different color. I didn't do any painting out there. It is really that ugly yellow color...I wish it were white.

One of my new favorite blogs is doing a giveaway...go check it out! Here is the link.

"Ocpus" and Batman"

We had a fun Halloween this year. This post is a couple days late, but better late than never. Carson had such a great time trick-or-treating this year. He wasn't totally confused like the previous 2 years! Halli enjoyed walking around collecting treats from everyone. As long as she had something sweet in her mouth she remained happy and walked along with us. Here are a few photos.
We made some fun treats last week for the holiday. The kids enjoyed helping me with them, and loved eating them!

Paying it on

Some of you may remember this post from a few months back. I actually only had 2 people comment and put the same thing up on their blog so I only made two instead of three. It is my AC project #5. Here is what I made for the two lovely ladies Gena and Aubry.
I had to send these to them before I could post on here because they would know what was coming if I didn't. But I got them all packaged up to send, and realized I hadn't taken a photo. So I unwrapped Gena's, took a shot, and wrapped it up again. I just had Aubry send me a photo. So sorry for the poor quality shot of the Buie's sign...I shot the photo a little to fast and did look to see how it turned out. Oh well...

One last shot

Ryan wiped the hard drive to our computer last night for one last attempt at fixing the problem we've been having trying to upload photos. And....IT WORKED! I'm so so so so so happy. I can now blog with photos without waiting for Ryan to bring home his computer. Hopefully it stays fixed! Just had to share the happy news. I'll continue to post now on a regular basis.
Here is a funny photo of Halli from last week. We were enjoying ice cream, and I thought it was cute that she had her feet up on the table. I was very surprised to see the look on her face when I checked out the photo I had taken. I love it...makes me laugh so hard!

Leaves are falling all around

So I had a project done last Saturday for this past week, but I had to mail it first because I made it for someone who reads this blog. It has their name on it and i didn't want to ruin the surprise. I didn't get it mailed until late Wednesday though so it will have to be my project for next week.
I hurried and whipped up some placemats on Friday for this week's project instead. The tree in our front yard had turned so many beautiful colors. I had to try to capture it somehow. Here is the project I came up with ...we'll see if the colors stick around. Attempting Creativity Project #4. Sorry the photo didn't upload quite right. I had to use our computer (I have been using Ryan's laptop from work to post lately, but he didn't bring it home this weekend). You get the idea though.
How to make:
Purchase contact paper.
Cut same size pieces.
Peel backing off one sheet
Arrange and stick leaves on sticky side
Peel back off other sheet
Set on top of leaves (you will probably need help from another person putting pieces together)

Note: It's been almost a week since I made these, and the color has not stayed. I will have to rethink this project and try again. Might have to wait for next year. Most the leaves are off my tree-or I may try again this weekend. I'll keep you posted.

Where the wind comes sweepin' down the plains

So we took a visit to Oklahoma over the past weekend. Ryan and I got to go to the temple in Oklahoma City Friday night then we spent the night down there and had a fun time. We took the kids swimming a couple of times so they loved spending the night in a hotel. Carson was very sad to leave Saturday afternoon...and he keeps asking when we can go to a hotel again.
Saturday we woke up and spent a few hours in the city checking it out. We went to "Outdoor World" in bricktown there and enjoyed looking around there for a few hours. It is kind of like a Cabellas...but not quite exciting. It was fun though and we all enjoyed it. Here are some photos from the store.
Afterwards we went outside and enjoyed a nice scenic walk by the river which was right outside the store. Don't you just love the colors of fall?
We walked on down to Toby Keith's I love this bar restaurant. If you ever have the chance to go there get the ribs. They were delicious! They make a special Toby Keith barbeque sauce just for the restaurant, and it is really good.

We headed back home after lunch. The kids both slept half of the way so it was nice to get some nice quiet time. It was a really fun relaxing weekend with the family. Can't wait for the next one!
