6th grade

First day of school for this handsome guy!
(pic of Tage)

A new school year  at a brand new school. Thats a lot of change. I am praying he will have a good day and I am praying that I made the right choice in enrolling and sending him to Candeo.
I felt a little uneasy and hesitant this morning as Tyson drove away to drop him off. All I was thinking to myself was if I had made the right decision. I have heard so many positive things about Candeo. I just have to go back to my peaceful feeling I had when I accepted the enrollment to Candeo back at the end of April. Even Tage felt like it was a good decision.
I can't wait to pick him up today and hear all about his day. Crossing my fingers and toes and praying it was a good day.

overwhelmed

today I'm overwhelmed with updating my journaling. I knew this was going to happen when I left for Utah for practically the whole month of July. Days and time just went by so quickly while I was gone that I don't journal at all! Ugh. I'm overwhelmed.

Enrolled at Candeo?

When we got back from Utah 2 days ago I expected to find something in the mail regarding information on Tage's school at Candeo (which starts tomorrow). I had a small freak out moment when there was nothing in the mail and I had received zero information via email. I called the school and the front desk lady, Angela, told me to send an email to administration. I did and by the end of yesterday I still had not heard or received any information.
So this morning I took my little hiney to the school and asked what's up. Turns out they had no information or anything on Tage Rigby. He wasn't even in the system and wasn't even considered a student there. I showed them the email I had received back at the end of April stating that Tage had been accepted in the school and my response to that email stating that we accepted the invitation. The front office then enrolled him on the spot and I filled out all the paperwork, Tage took an assessment test and we attended an orientation.
We spent all morning at the school. Thank heavens for my visiting teacher and sweet friend, Natalie Davis who kindly took Emmry and Trey for a good chunk of the morning so that I could focus on Tage, go to the orientation and talk to teachers and staff.
I'm hoping tomorrow goes smooth!

Happy Birthday, America!

The morning started out low key with everyone climbing in Mom and Dads bed with Wild Kratts cartoons on.

I decorated the cake that I made yesterday.

Emmry even helped me.

A friend had made flag shirts which I thought were super cute so I ran to Target and got shirts for the little kids and I. Tage didn't want to make one and I already knew that Ty wouldn't either.
I think our shirts turned out cute.
Mine even had extra love on it because Emmry 'helped' me a lot!

The 'fun' of the day didn't really happen until dinner. Most of the day was just cleaning and hang in' out. Well, I guess besides the crafting that we did we just hung out. Both little kids took a nap...and so did I! Awesome! We had hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner and then the missionaries came over and shared a thought with us. Then we went for a quick dip swimming followed by going over to the neighbors across the street (the Campbells) Tage's friend, Jalen is in town so they have been hang in out a lot this past week. Jalens parents invited us over to watch fireworks with them. I brought the cake that I made over for a treat to share. It worked out good that I made the cake because I would have felt dumb going over empty handed. They bought a ton of fireworks! The little kids loved it. Tage loved it too because he got to play with fire and light some of them.

Wegottagetalong

Wegottagetalong used too be Reggies name. crazy huh?!
Amongst all our sitting around and lounging we did today Tyson decided to research more into Reggies background. The horse vet came yesterday to check out both horses because we have to have paperwork with them when they cross the border. (Tyson is planning on bringing them to Utah over the 24th of July festivities.) Anyway, the vet had told Tyson that Reggie looks like a full thoroughbred and not a mix with quarter horse which is what the lady said he was when we bought him. He also told Tyson that if any horse has ever raced they would have a number tattooed inside their top gum line lip. The vet checked quickly but didn't see one. Which means at that point to our understanding Reggie had never raced. But when Tyson told me that today and then looked under him lip again really close he found a number - I23117. I then told Tyson he should Google that number for fun and see what information we could find on him. Turns out we found a lot!
We found Reggies birth information and a whole pedigree chart. As well as videos of Reggies races here in Arizona at Turf Paradise! We watched his 4 winning races out of the 37 he ran. We also found out that his owner had died which was about the same time he stopped racing and was put up for adoption at Turf Paradise. From then on we couldn't find anymore information.
It was kind of exciting to find out the history of Reggie. Tyson said that him being a full thoroughbred explains a lot. like Reggie don't stop really good and fast (race horses just don't stop), he is sensitive on his right hind (that is where they whipped him to run faster) and that explains why Tyson says that Reggie just likes to run fast.

Early bedtime

Emmry started with a runny nose yesterday. We were home all day except the hour in the morning when we took Tage to his well check doctors appointment, so at least she got to have a low key day. She was a stinker and wouldn't take a nap though. At about dinner time she had a couple of really deep coughs. Deep like that croup seal barking cough. Oh, no. That's not good I thought. I started getting her ready for bed at 7:00pm but by the time she actually got into bed and the lights were turned out wasn't until close to 7:30pm. I gave her some cold medicine, (which she thankfully took without putting up a fight. Pink chewable medicine has worked wonderfully and she really won't take any other kind) put the humidifier in her room, put Vicks on her chest and feet, put the essential oils diffuser with thieves diffusing in it in her room - I had done everything I could for her to hopefully have a good restful sleep. Thankfully she did and didn't cough once. She woke up at 6:45am this morning and still has a runny nose and still has that nasty cough every once in awhile. We will try and have another low key day today and I'm crossing my fingers that she will take a nap.

Egg Carton

I had this brilliant idea of how to better arrange our eggs. I got a large egg carton from a friend and then labeled by days of the week. So whatever day it is you put the eggs in that row going back. That way we aren't using the newest eggs before the oldest ones. It was always a guess as to which eggs had been in my carton the longest. This way it's a little more organized.
