hum....

What to say today? Hum. I just felt like documenting something.
Today - It was a home day. I had a few friends (Patsy, Stefanie, and Renae) come over with their girls and we made gingerbread houses (graham cracker houses really).
Trey had more candy than I would like to admit.
I also made another batch of orange zucchini bread and gave my friends a small loaf.
The termite guy came again today (when are theses termites ever going to leave our house alone?!) So I gave him a small loaf as well. This was my 2nd time making a double batch of this bread and i have to say that I really love it! I love it even more because Trey is the only other person in the family that likes it so that means more for me! hahaha

I also had to just laugh when I was changing Treys diaper and he wouldn't let me put on a clean one. so I just left him running around naked for a couple minutes and the next thing I know he was walking around in pink high heel plastic dress up shoes. Hilarious! Couldn't help but laugh and of course take a picture.

Can you hear me?

This might come across a little funny, but it's serious too. Ty and I think that Emmry might have a little hearing problem. We all know that kids (and adults) can have selective hearing at times - I know Emmry does. Emmry is constantly talking loud and asking us to turn up the volume on things. Today at church Tyson was sitting right next to her and would whisper questions to her even using her name and she would not turn and look at him or answer the questions. So when we got home he performed a little hearing test. One at a time he put the ear phones in each ear and turned on the YouTube video of Frozen with the volume waaay low and asked if she could hear it. She said she could. But maybe I will ask the Dr. to check her hearing when we go in to see her tomorrow (for the cough which she has had for a month now).

Nothing

I have been meaning to write this down for a long time...

I remember when Emmry was little and I would ask her questions like "how did you sleep?", or "do you want to go to the store with me?" and her answer would be 8,9,10. Well, Trey has his own little word that he likes to use. Nothing. That is his answer to everything when he is upset or doesn't want to do something. He also uses that word when I ask him how he slept in the morning, which I think is hilarious because it doesn't even make sense. Just like when I asked Emmry how she slept and 8,9,10 didn't make sense.

Hiccups

(Emmry)
Emmry- "Mom, I got the hippups"
Me- "you mean the hiccups, with a C which makes the K sound"
Emmry- "no, the hiPpups"

Love her.

Almost last

Today I was a little late in picking up Tage from school - 8 minutes actually. As I drove up there was only 2 kids sitting alone along the school building. Poor Tage probably thought that I forgot about him. Luckily he wasn't the last kid - who was Deanna Inman's daughter, Ashley (a friend from church). I waited a few minutes and let Ashley call her Mom. Tage wanted me to take her home. But a couple minutes later Deanna came around the corner and all was good.

Nanny

I was at the library this afternoon and a lady asked if I was Emmry and Trey's nanny. Hahaha. Nope. They are mine. and then Tage walked over to me and I said, "he is mine too." I told her that I am older than she probably thought I was. She said I was super woman.
Hahaha.

No Napping

I am officially saying that Trey no longer takes naps. It has been 3 weeks straight that he has not taken an afternoon nap. Bedtime comes early around this house now. I try and get both Emmry and Trey to be by 7:30pm.
If we are in the car and he is super tired he will fall asleep, which is fine. A short little nap never hurt anyone. Somedays have been harder than others. The worst days are when I am ready to scream at 5:00pm and think, "how on earth am I going to hold him out another 2 hours?" Those are the worst times. But Somehow I manage and then I smile as he is sleeping and love him even more.

Family pictures

Iv'e spent several hours the past 2 weeks trying to finalize all the clothes for family pictures that were today. I hope they turn out good!
(pic of outfits laying out)

Sofie is 3!

Emmry's little friend, Sofie had her birthday party at Chuck-e-cheese's today. The kids had a blast and I had to take Trey out kicking and screaming because he wanted to stay. 2 1/2 hours was plenty long buddy....

Painting the garage

Ty and I have spent 2 long days prepping the garage for painting. Tyson has done even more than that in the previous few weeks repairing the ceiling by cutting out and replacing sheet rock and mudding and sanding. We did do more of mudding and sanding within these past 2 days but it took a long time to just tape and prep the garage.
Finally around 9:00pm tonight Tyson started painting. It went by really fast since he bought himself a new toy - a paint sprayer. There is still a little sanding to do on the ceiling so we will have to wait until Monday to paint the ceiling. (Tomorrow is Sunday - a day of rest. And a much needed rest day it is!)
It will be nice to have a clean garage! It's been over 2 years that I have felt with a messy, dirty garage. I'm excited for it to be clean and organized!

Relief Society craft night

Last night was RS craft night. I signed up to make this pallet board but Allison Kindler and Allison Stokes needed a few examples already done so I told them they could do mine for me. So really I didn't even do craft night but since I was 'in charge' of the evening I was busy helping others and making sure things went smooth.
Anyway, I am so happy with how the sign turned out and extremely happy that it is not sitting up in the craft room on the floor waiting to be hung. Tyson already hung it! I love where I put it - in the hall bathroom above the toilet. and on the other wall in the bathroom he hung my growth board that I have wanted hung for over a month. Two projects complete - that's awesome!

(pic of bathroom w/ growth board and pallet sign)

Privacy

I have been using the word privacy a lot lately especially with Emmry. I really would like to use the restroom or shower in peace one of these days. Maybe they will understand that word eventually.

Well today I asked Emmry to put on her shoes and she said that she needed privacy. She went to her closet and hid behind a blanket.

So I'm pretty sure she understands the meaning of the word - now if she will only apply it more often.

(pic of Emmry behind horse blanket in closet)

Little Cowboy

Oh how I am in love with my little cowboy.
(pic of trey in brown stripe shirt with boots)

It wasn't cold outside but that's the shirt he picked out and I needed to try on the jeans to make sure they fit for family pictures tomorrow. He looked like such a stud this morning.

Spice drawer

Trey was helping me with dinner tonight. Stacking the spices is one of the favorites in the kitchen for the kids.
"tim - ber!"

(pic of try stacking spices)

Soup Day

It's been overcast for the most part of today (down into the 80* temperatures!) so I decided that it would be a good soup day.
I made one of my all time favorites. Cheesy Chicken Chowder. Except I made it a little bit more soup like than a chowder. But it's still good.

(recipe of soup)

Mr. Skeleton

Mr. Skeleton needs a Mrs.
I should go find him a lover.

(pic of skeleton on porch couch)

Outfits

Worked hard on finding clothes for family pictures today. Pictures are in just 3 days! It's crunch time!

(pic of clothes on black chair)

Scissors

Emmry cuts everything. I better put away things that I don't want cut into little pieces. In fact - I was going to use this coupon but Emmry wanted to cut out the princess vitamins so I guess I wouldn't be using it.

(pic of scissors and coupon)

Cake fail

I attempted to make a gum ball machine out of chocolate cake this morning. It didn't work out so well and I was on a time crunch so I made a rice crispy cake instead. Except you wouldn't really call it a cake, huh? Oh, well. A gum ball machine treat. Hahaha

(pic of cake fail and final pic)

Smashed

I told Trey to eat his sandwich today at lunch. Instead he used it as play doh and squeezed and pounded on it.
Guess he didn't want lunch.

(pic of Trey pounding PB&J)

Popscicle

Emmry loves her cousin Avery. She talks about her all the time and she occasionally face-time's her. Today she had a popsicle and said that she wanted to save the last blue one for Avery so when she comes to sleep at our house she could have it.

Too cute and too sweet.
I love my little Emmry.

(pic of popsicle in freezer)

Tage has the touch

Tage must have the sleepy touch tonight. I tried for 30 minutes to get Trey to bed then finally gave up. Trey went out to the living room and cuddled with Tage and fell right to sleep within minutes.

Love my boys.

(pic of Trey on Tage's lap on floor in living room)

Clash of Clans

This is all Tage and his friend, Jalen, did ALL morning. And then again later on in the day. Ugh!
I made them turn off electronics and go outside and play basketball for awhile.
Boys, sheesh!

Preschool art

I love the cute art's and crafts that Emmry comes home from preschool with. I am so happy with the preschool (Happy Apple) I chose and even more happy that Emmry loves, loves, loves it!

Yard work

We did lots and lots of yard work today. Lots. Tyson trimmed trees and bushes and the rest of us cleaned up his mess. Then we decided to clear a small area between the back patio and the pool to put fake grass in. We cleared out all the rocks and smoothed out the dirt. Next week we will work more on it.

(everyone yard work)

Fight in and out

Most of the time it's a fight to get Trey into the shower/bath. And then it's always a fight to get him out. I add warm water multiple times because he won't get out. He was in so long tonight that he had really bad raisin hands and feet when he finally got out. We lighted and laughed about them.

(pic of trey in tub and hands/feet)

Face plant

Trey is a true boy. Bumps and bruises, scrapes and scars. Today he fell off the backyard swing face down in the rocks. I should have known this was going to happen sooner or later. The rope snapped on the other side a few months ago and I just tied knot in it. Now today the other side of the rope broke. I was standing right there pushing him but couldn't quite catch him. It happen so fast I didn't even have a chance to reach enough to break his fall. I feel horrible. This little man loooooooves to swing. I bet you he could swing for an hour straight. No lie. (I've done at least 30 min straight so I know another 30 minutes would probably happen...)
Poor Treyzer. I'm so sorry.

Little Chops

After I dropped Emmry off at preschool I took Trey to a little kids hair place called Little Chops. Trey loved that there was toys to play with right when he walked in the door. The little kids get to pick a movie or video game and sit in a race car, airplane, or jeep. The slightly older kids just have a normal salon chair but they still get to pick a movie or game. It was actually really cute. And then they get a sucker and a sticker when they are all done.
Trey did awesome at first and then started getting a bit squirmy after a couple minutes. When they got to the part where it shaves close around his neck -  he did not like that. I pretty much held his head and the lady did her magic. Overall I would say that Trey was in the chair for 7-8 minutes max. It was definitely an expensive hair cut! $15, then I gave $3 for a tip - that's expensive if you ask me. But he looks like a little stud muffin and it beats me having to take 3 days to cut his hair little by little. That's what happen last time. And then I ended up having to pin him down on day 3 just to get it done.

(pics at little chops)

"No picture me"

I wanted to take a picture of Trey trying to get dressed by himself this morning. I laughed and then started to take a picture but he got mad at me and hid his face exclaiming, "no picture me!" "I don't like that phone!" "Don't look at me!"

I took this quick picture and then put my phone aside and helped him out.

(pic of trey in kitchen. pants on head and shirt on legs.)

Takin' pictures

Trey got ahold of my phone and wanted to take pictures.....

(few pics of what he took)

New car seat

Emmry's new car seat got delivered today! I should have just ordered 2 because Trey wants it.

Play doh

The past 2 times I have taken Emmry to preschool I have had to pick Trey up and carry him to the car kicking and screaming because he wants to stay. Today he was playing at a little table with some play doh. He started throwing a fit when I picked up up and so I told him that we could go home and make play doh. Within the short 5 minute drive home he was about asleep when I pulled into the driveway. As I carried him in the house and went to lay him in his bed he got mad at me and said that he wanted play doh. So that's exactly what we did. And of course he picked green. I'm positive green is his favorite color right now because that is what color he says for everything.

Binks

Last night I cut 2 of Treys binks and then today I cut one more. 3 binks down and one more to go. (at least of the total number of binks I can find)
He did really well last night. But he was very aware of where his not cut binks were at and still wanted them. I decided not to throw the binks away because he likes to hold them on his thumb. It's kinda cute actually. So I told him that he could still have them but he just couldn't put them in his mouth. That seems to work. He still likes to hold them.
I will cut the last one tomorrow...maybe. My sanity is still screaming DON'T DO IT. But the Mom in me and Trey's mouth is saying that "it is time." I worry that if I let him have the binks too long he will have teeth problems and speech problems. So yes, now is actually past time.

Mullet Haircut

Tage really needed a haircut. After we went swimming Tyson busted out the clippers and convinced Tage that he would do a good job and cut it. Tage has been begging for me to let him grow out his hair and have a mullet. Yep. Mullet hairstyles are back. I told Tyson that he could leave a section long in the back as long as the front and top of his hair is short. So thats what he did. (Because really the back of Tages hair isn't long enough to even tell that its a mullet. hahaha)
The whole hair cutting process took a long time. at least 30 minutes. Tyson messed up (several times) and all I could hear was non stop laughing in the bathroom from those 2 boys. It was hilarious. Creating fun memories like this between father and son is awesome.

Nail Salon

Today I went to Estrella Nails to get a pedicure.
Why on earth is ESPN on at the salon?!?! What about HGTV?!?!
Sheesh!
College football was on the whole time I was there. Not fun. Not entertaining. I even asked if they would change the station and they said no. Bummer. I pretty much surfed the web for relief society craft ideas on my phone anyway. But still, at a nail salon they should NOT be airing sports. Unless of course it was the Olympics. Then they could.

Scissors

I find it quite interesting that Emmry is left handed but uses scissors with her right hand as well as throws balls with her right. Talented girl!
Right now she is on a cutting fest....can't you tell? I know at preschool they are working on using scissors for their fine motor skills and are encouraging the kids to practice cutting at home. Although,  I think Emmry is taking this to the next level.  I have little pieces of paper scattered all over my house. She is constantly wanting to cut something! She does great with straight lines, now I am working with her on cutting circles.

Fifty Dollar Bill

Even though it's still over 100* outside we like to go outside during the early evening just before sunset and get some fresh air. Tonight we played 'store'. The kids love playing this.

She's passing out $50 bills over here......you all might want to come over! Hahaha
(Emmry on play set playing store)

Cupcakes

Cupcakes at 9:30am? Why not!
Kids seemed to enjoy the fact that I had a sweet tooth that early in the morning. Hahaha

"Mom! Take a picture and send it to my daddy!"

Breakfast for Dinner

When Dad is out of town everyone knows that breakfast is for dinner!!
Tage chose crepes which is something that I haven't made in a long time so it was a big hit for everyone.

Haircuts

Emmry and I got our hair cut today! A few inches off feels so good and Emmry's hair looks a lot healthier now.

Pink horses

Among other errands today we went to Joann's Fabric store. Emmry saw some pink horse fabric that she HAD to have. How could I say no to pink horses?!?! So I bought a half yard of it and a half yard of pink star fabric. I'm sure she dreams about pink horses so I made a pillow case for her.

Happy Apple Open House

2 more days until pre school starts at Happy Apple! We are on the final count down! Yay!
Emmry got to meet her teachers today!
(pics w/teachers) (didn't get one with Peggy. computer grandma)
I still feel really good about my decision for her to attend Happy Apple. As long as I don't think about money ($175/month) then I am feeling fantastic.

Infinity

(pic of infinity bracelet)
I'm kind of obsessed with this bracelet I got while I was in Utah from DownEast in Ephriam. Loving the infinity sign. I think of life. I think of love. I think of the temple. I think of my Heavenly Father. I think of my family. I think of so many wonderful things when I look at it. I love it.

Scriptures

Emmry gave a little talk in church today.
(pic of emmry in seat and getting ready for talk)

The topic was "Scripture study give me and my family spiritual strength."
This was her talk.
I like to read the scriptures. I like when my Mom reads me stories in the children's Book of Mormon. I like to look at the pictures. When we read the scriptures as a family I am happy and can feel the Spirit. I know the scriptures are true.

She isn't scared to give talks and actually is excited about it except she doesn't talk loud at all so nobody can hear her. I keep telling her to talk loud IN the microphone. She will say just one or two words form the short phrase that I tell her. Usually it's the last word. Like "I like to read the scriptures" she will only say scriptures.
I'm glad she is not shy about speaking in church and likes to do it.
I hope she feels the spirit when she is at church and knows that what she is saying/hearing/learning is TRUE!

I love my sweet Emmry. I want her to know and all my children know that I have a testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ if Latter-day Saints. I KNOW that this is the only true church on the earth. I know it, I feel it and I will always live it. Joseph Smith was a true prophet that was an instrument in the Lords hands to bring the gospel back to the earth at this time. I know if we listen to the prophets \ we will be lead in the right direction and be happy. Heavenly Father loves you. He loves ALL his children. I love the temple. I feel so much peace when I go. I am so happy I am sealed to you for time and ALL eternity. I know prayers are answered. You Emmry, are an answer to my prayers. I love you with all my heart.

Mom

displays of summer

Oh how I love summer tan lines on little bums.
(pic of trey bum in bath)

Banged up and bruised.

That aint dirt on Emmrys face, thats a bruise. Emmry fell and hit her cheek on the fireplace wall 3 days ago. That day she had a little red mark on her cheek that you could tell she hurt herself but today I noticed a little bruise. Poor girl.

Last night I noticed a little scratch on Treys right ear. I have no idea what happened. Now tonight I noticed more of a bruise on his ear. Poor little man.

(pic of Em cheek in bath. pic of trey ear at church)

Returned check

Look what I got in the mail today...a returned check from the garbage company!
Not because there wasn't significant funds in the account, but because I didn't sign the dang check.
Oooops. How embarrassing!
(pic of check)

Boating!

First boating time of the season!
(pics at lake pleasant)
Maybe summer is over to some people because school is back in full swing. But to me, I consider summer still going strong because it is still so flippin' hot!! And because we just barely got the boat out! I hope to go out on the host at least a couple more times before summer really does end. But if not, I won't complain and will be happy to bring on the cooler winter weather.

Big boy underwear!

Trey has been showing a to of interest in the potty this past week and has even gone in it!! I decided to encourage the interest a little more by buying him some big boy underwear. I put them on him today and he was loving it! it wasn't long until he tinkled in them, but then he wanted to put another pair on...and then another on top of that one so that the picture of Jake was on the front. Backward underwear?? Why not?! Whatever makes them happy and wanting to potty train is what I say!

2 yr. old stats

Trey had his 2 year old well check today at Great Destinations Pediatrics and did awesome! It started out rough when he wouldn't stand on the scale to weigh him so I had to go around the corner while they picked him up and had him sit on the baby scale. But after that he did everything else perfect. Dr. Shepherd said that he did extremely well for his age and let her do all the things she needed to without throwing a fit or crying! He even opened his mouth for the Dr. to look in when she said, "let me see your teeth." I feel that Trey is ahead of the game on practically everything. He had mastered eating with utensils a long time ago. He speaks sooooo good (better than Emmry sometimes). He wants to dress himself and is very interested in the potty. He can understand and follow multiple directions. In fact, everything that the Dr. was asking he was doing at age 18 mo. So now he is a pro at it all. I'm pretty sure I have the smartest, best looking stud in the world! hahaha
Trey only cried a little when they gave him the Hepatitis shot, then I told him that he could go get a sticker and he stopped immediately and was happy.

Stats:
Weight: 27.6 lbs (57% in your age group)
Height: 32 3/4" tall (6%. Dad says we need to stretch you out, Trey. He pulled on your legs and arms tonight. Hahaha

(pic of trey in waiting room at Great Destinations)

After his appointment we went and got an ice cream cone from Mc Donald's and I let Trey play on the little playground there. I forgot my phone in the car at this point so I have no pictures, but he was loving his ice cream and enjoyed going down the little slide on his belly head first. Yes, head first. Silly, crazy boy. Love you to pieces, Trey.

Motivation

I'm sitting on my bed right now working on my computer. Trey is napping and Emmry just fell asleep right next to me. The house is a mess and I have a million thing going through my mind and on my 'to-do' list. I need some real good motivation right.
(pic of emery sleeping. me on computer)

Chilis

When to Chilis today for chips and salsa. That's all.
(pic of chilis to go sign)

Tall, tall tower. Ta-da!

I was playing blocks with the kids in the play room this morning. We started to build a tall tower and  Emmry exclaimed, "Mom! Take a picture and send it to daddy!" So we did.
(pics of tower)
I then left to go clean up the kitchen. Not long after I left Emmry the room was yelling, "Mom! Hurry! Come here!" I went into the room and Trey shouted with a huge smile on his face, "ta da!" It was the cutest thing everrrrr! Emmry and Trey had lined up all the blocks and made a square. Adorable.

Quick Dip

Tage had a friend (Will Stanger) come home with him today after school. They wanted to go swimming but I didn't have time to go swimming so I told them they could do a quick dip. 10-15 minutes max. I gave Emmry and Trey some ice cream and we sat outside by the pool and watched the boys swim. Once Trey was done with his ice cream he wanted to go swimming too. He started to take off his shirt by himself, but just got stuck. I striped him down to his nothings and let him get in the pool on the first step. Then emery wanted to get in. I told her that she had to keep her panties and shirt on though.
So I guess this is how Trey does quick dips around here......

Forever

Tonight I was telling Trey that I love him. We began the "I love you more" war. After saying "I love you more, more, more...." Trey said, "I love you forever"
What?!?!
Where did he hear that?
I don't think I have ever said that to him.
I love you forever and ever and ever, Trey.

xoxo,
Mom

Count to 10

She finally did it! Emmry can count to 10! Not missing any numbers and in the correct order.
Wahoo!!
And a bonus I got it on video!! Lucky me!

Trey also is very close to counting to 10. Just in the past couple days I have noticed him counting "2,3,6,7,8,9,10.
WOW!!
Much better than Emmry ever was at his age!
Today he missed number 5 but got everything else right. Dude, you rock!! Give me knuckles!!

Rash

What's next?! Sheesh!
Emmry woke up with a rash on her chest around her collar bone area, back, and on the inner part of her arms and hands. Great. I'm assuming it is from the antibiotics I gave her last night (snuck then in the snow cone I gave her.....seeing that this girl won't take ANY medicine.)
I called our pediatricians office and they said for me to come in. I guess it was pointless for me to go to Urgent Care yesterday. I feel bad I spent all that time and put Emmry through that and to top it off it was $105.00 for the Urgent Care visit and then another $20.00 for the prescriptions. Dang.
We saw Dr. Prentice this time. She said that the rash was not from the antibiotic and is just a viral rash. She also said that antibiotics aren't going to help anything so not to take them and that the new eye drops that the Urgent Care Dr. prescribed were pretty much the same thing except the new ones you were to use more often rather than the first eye drops prescribed were just morning and night.
I'M SO CONFUSED!! Yes, antibiotics - no, antibiotics. These eye drops - no, these ones.
I just want my daughter to by healthy. I'm praying for direction instead of listening to Dr.'s.

Starting the day off right? Ending it even better?

You would think that starting my day off with going to church was a good thing right? Well, not when I back into Tysons car giving it a pretty dent on the left headlight area from backing out of the garage into it.
(pic of Tysons car)
Luckily when I came in and told him he didn't get mad at all and I continued to just go to church.

Then when I got home from church Emmry's eye looked horrible and her temperature was still above 102*
(pic of Emmry on couch)
I decided to take her into Urgent Care. The Dr. prescribed an antibiotic and a different kind of eye drops for the pink eye. After a long 3 hour ordeal of going to the Dr., taking Emmry back home and then going to the pharmacy to fill the prescriptions, (which I had to wait about an hour for.....not fun.) I was home.
I just hope my baby girl get feeling better soon.

Tired

Apparently EVERYONE in this household is sleep deprived. It is now 8:20am and everyone is still zonked out.

Sick girl

It all started 3 days ago. I noticed Emmry had a fever around 5:00am Wednesday morning. She slept off and on but then was completely knocked out just a little after 8:00am. Then she slept half the day away. From 8:00am-1:20pm when I had to wake her up to go get Tage from school by 1:45pm. She still had a slight temperature and lounged the rest of the day and ended up going to bed around 8:00pm. Thursday she was awake more but still complained that her stomach hurt and that she didn't feel good. Thursday I noticed that her eye was goopy and thought maybe it could be pink eye. As the day continued and when she woke up from a nap her eye was more goopy and when I pulled down her lower eye lid it was more red than light pink I knew I needed to call the Dr. and get her in to confirm it was pink eye and get eye drops for her.
We picked Tage up from school and went straight to Great Destinations Pediatrics to see Dr. Lombard. There she confirmed that it was pink eye and prescribed some eye drops. She also said that even though having a temperature is the bodies natural way of trying to fight off viruses she told us to keep trying to have Emmry take some fever reducing medicine to keep her temperature down.
Once we got home I made dinner as Emmry rested on the couch and Tyson went to Target to pick up the prescription.
I hope the drops help and she will be all healthy soon.
I love you my sweet Emmry.

Mom

6th grade

First day of school for this handsome guy!
(pic of Tage)

A new school year  at a brand new school. Thats a lot of change. I am praying he will have a good day and I am praying that I made the right choice in enrolling and sending him to Candeo.
I felt a little uneasy and hesitant this morning as Tyson drove away to drop him off. All I was thinking to myself was if I had made the right decision. I have heard so many positive things about Candeo. I just have to go back to my peaceful feeling I had when I accepted the enrollment to Candeo back at the end of April. Even Tage felt like it was a good decision.
I can't wait to pick him up today and hear all about his day. Crossing my fingers and toes and praying it was a good day.

overwhelmed

today I'm overwhelmed with updating my journaling. I knew this was going to happen when I left for Utah for practically the whole month of July. Days and time just went by so quickly while I was gone that I don't journal at all! Ugh. I'm overwhelmed.

Enrolled at Candeo?

When we got back from Utah 2 days ago I expected to find something in the mail regarding information on Tage's school at Candeo (which starts tomorrow). I had a small freak out moment when there was nothing in the mail and I had received zero information via email. I called the school and the front desk lady, Angela, told me to send an email to administration. I did and by the end of yesterday I still had not heard or received any information.
So this morning I took my little hiney to the school and asked what's up. Turns out they had no information or anything on Tage Rigby. He wasn't even in the system and wasn't even considered a student there. I showed them the email I had received back at the end of April stating that Tage had been accepted in the school and my response to that email stating that we accepted the invitation. The front office then enrolled him on the spot and I filled out all the paperwork, Tage took an assessment test and we attended an orientation.
We spent all morning at the school. Thank heavens for my visiting teacher and sweet friend, Natalie Davis who kindly took Emmry and Trey for a good chunk of the morning so that I could focus on Tage, go to the orientation and talk to teachers and staff.
I'm hoping tomorrow goes smooth!

Happy Birthday, America!

The morning started out low key with everyone climbing in Mom and Dads bed with Wild Kratts cartoons on.
(pic of everyone in bed)
I decorated the cake that I made yesterday.
(pic of cake)
Emmry even helped me.
(pic of Em with sprinkles)
A friend had made flag shirts which I thought were super cute so I ran to Target and got shirts for the little kids and I. Tage didn't want to make one and I already knew that Ty wouldn't either.
I think our shirts turned out cute.
Mine even had extra love on it because Emmry 'helped' me a lot!
(pics of shirts and me with kids in our shirts)

The 'fun' of the day didn't really happen until dinner. Most of the day was just cleaning and hang in' out. Well, I guess besides the crafting that we did we just hung out. Both little kids took a nap...and so did I! Awesome! We had hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner and then the missionaries came over and shared a thought with us. Then we went for a quick dip swimming followed by going over to the neighbors across the street (the Campbells) Tage's friend, Jalen is in town so they have been hang in out a lot this past week. Jalens parents invited us over to watch fireworks with them. I brought the cake that I made over for a treat to share. It worked out good that I made the cake because I would have felt dumb going over empty handed. They bought a ton of fireworks! The little kids loved it. Tage loved it too because he got to play with fire and light some of them.

Wegottagetalong

Wegottagetalong used too be Reggies name. crazy huh?!
Amongst all our sitting around and lounging we did today Tyson decided to research more into Reggies background. The horse vet came yesterday to check out both horses because we have to have paperwork with them when they cross the border. (Tyson is planning on bringing them to Utah over the 24th of July festivities.) Anyway, the vet had told Tyson that Reggie looks like a full thoroughbred and not a mix with quarter horse which is what the lady said he was when we bought him. He also told Tyson that if any horse has ever raced they would have a number tattooed inside their top gum line lip. The vet checked quickly but didn't see one. Which means at that point to our understanding Reggie had never raced. But when Tyson told me that today and then looked under him lip again really close he found a number - I23117. I then told Tyson he should Google that number for fun and see what information we could find on him. Turns out we found a lot!
We found Reggies birth information and a whole pedigree chart. As well as videos of Reggies races here in Arizona at Turf Paradise! We watched his 4 winning races out of the 37 he ran. We also found out that his owner had died which was about the same time he stopped racing and was put up for adoption at Turf Paradise. From then on we couldn't find anymore information.
It was kind of exciting to find out the history of Reggie. Tyson said that him being a full thoroughbred explains a lot. like Reggie don't stop really good and fast (race horses just don't stop), he is sensitive on his right hind (that is where they whipped him to run faster) and that explains why Tyson says that Reggie just likes to run fast.

Early bedtime

Emmry started with a runny nose yesterday. We were home all day except the hour in the morning when we took Tage to his well check doctors appointment, so at least she got to have a low key day. She was a stinker and wouldn't take a nap though. At about dinner time she had a couple of really deep coughs. Deep like that croup seal barking cough. Oh, no. That's not good I thought. I started getting her ready for bed at 7:00pm but by the time she actually got into bed and the lights were turned out wasn't until close to 7:30pm. I gave her some cold medicine, (which she thankfully took without putting up a fight. Pink chewable medicine has worked wonderfully and she really won't take any other kind) put the humidifier in her room, put Vicks on her chest and feet, put the essential oils diffuser with thieves diffusing in it in her room - I had done everything I could for her to hopefully have a good restful sleep. Thankfully she did and didn't cough once. She woke up at 6:45am this morning and still has a runny nose and still has that nasty cough every once in awhile. We will try and have another low key day today and I'm crossing my fingers that she will take a nap.

Egg Carton

I had this brilliant idea of how to better arrange our eggs. I got a large egg carton from a friend and then labeled by days of the week. So whatever day it is you put the eggs in that row going back. That way we aren't using the newest eggs before the oldest ones. It was always a guess as to which eggs had been in my carton the longest. This way it's a little more organized.

Where is you?

I'm not sure if I have written this done or not, but I wanted to make sure I do.

Whenever Trey or Emmry can't see me and are looking for me they would say, "Mom!!! (or sometimes Mommy) Where is you?!?! Then I would say, "I'm in the kitchen." (or say wherever I am at) then they would say, "Oh!"
Maybe this is something that needs to be recorded to understand how cute it is, but it really is cute.

Sunday Entertainment

There are some Sundays that just drag on and on forever. Today is one of them.
This is what we did for our Sunday afternoon entertainment.

It's sunny...Umbrella

(pic of Emmry with umbrella up in the car)
"It's sunny in the car"

It's not only sunny in the car, but Emmry thinks that it is sunny in the house too.
(pic of Emmry on the living room floor with umbrella propped up)

Driving in the direction to the church

This morning we helped clean our church building. We always take the back way or what the kids call "hilly" or "bumpy" road to church. As soon as we got on this road Trey started to say "Noooooo!" "No! Mom! No!" "No church!" Hahahaha. Today was not the first day he has done this. He has done it several times. Actually, he did it earlier this week when I was taking Tage to a friends house. He must relate going on that road with going to church. So I guess you could guess by now that Trey doesn't like going to church. He still won't go to nursery by himself, the only way he would stay in there is if Tyson or I were in there with him. He is almost 23 months old. I hope he will get used to nursery soon.

Umbrella

Emmry has been wanting an umbrella for a couple months now. Tonight, I finally bought her one. (only because it was 50%. Hahaha) When I came home with it her eyes lit up and she was ecstatic. She didn't put that thing down the rest of the night. In fact, she even went to bed with it.

Horsey rides

We had a lazy morning today. Actually let me rephrase that. I had a lazy morning. 1:00pm in the afternoon I was still in my jammies. We were singing songs, playing ring a round the roses, motor boat motor boat, and I was giving horsey rides. It was wonderful.
(pic pf horsey rides and piling on me.)
But let's not forget the nose picking' that went on too...
(Trey picking his nose)

Not upset...but not happy.

Let me set the stage for you of this conversation...Tyson is sitting on the couch eating a bag of chips, (it is dinner time and obviously he is hungry) I am straightening up the house, fixing dinner, doing the dishes, tending to the kids needs (you know, the normal stuff)
Tyson: (said with a discussing tone of voice) "What's that smell?"
Me: (said with a sharp 'you be quiet tone of voice') "Dinner." (Baked teriyaki chicken to serve over rice with steamed veggies. Sounded good to me.)
Tyson: "oh."

After dinner I took Tage to go get some new church shoes and to try on some shoes he wanted from Tilly's and some shorts so I know what size he is.  I will order the shoes online from Zappos (because they were cheaper online) and order uniform shirts and shorts online for school. I figure I have to have most of his school stuff done because when I get back from Utah he only has 3 days before he starts school! Crazy that Candeo starts school on July 30 this year! That seems so early to me! Maybe just because it's still in July which to me is considered a summer month.

Anyway, when I got home Tyson was watching TV in the play room as the kids were playing. I started straitening up the disaster zone. It really was a complete disaster. Tyson just sat on the couch and watched me. This was at about 8:30pm. I told him I could use help straightening up but then eventually he just fell asleep. I ended up finishing straightening up, got the kids ready for bed, put them to bed, and did the dishes before i got ready for bed. I was rude and just turned off the game room lights at about 9:00pm and went to bed without him.

I can't say that I am mad right now, but I can say that I am not happy.

Went to the Dr.

Ty finally went to Urgent Care tonight to see a doctor about his hemotoma on his thigh. Seeing that it has been 10 days since his accident and the hemotoma is not going away or getting any smaller (in fact it has gotten larger), he figured that he probably should go to the doctor. The Dr. told him that he should just wrap it with a bandage tight and to watch for swelling lower in the leg. If there was swelling that wasn't a good sign and to come back. Take Tylenol instead of Ibprophen and to keep icing it. So Ty is doing Dr.'s orders and is continuing to do what he has been doing this whole time (except for the fact of taking Tylenol because he was taking Ibprophen, they said that the Ibprophen would cause thinning of the blood and that's not good so to take Tylenol.)
I'm just glad that he went and now I have a peace of mind that there isn't a blood clot or something that is horrible going on.

Police

It has probably been almost a month now that this has been going on....
I have had the hardest time getting Trey to come get his diaper changed, holding still to do so and sometimes getting him dressed. One time when I finally got him down to change his diaper he said, "police come?" I wondered what he was talking about and had a questionable look on my face and asked him what he said again. He said, "police come?" Then I said "yes, the police are going to come if you don't let me change your diaper." Magically he laid still. Then it hit me. I had recently been using the phrase to the kids that the "police will come" if you don't sit in your car seat and buckle up. That's where he got it. Now I have been using the "police will come" tactic whenTrey wouldn't listen to me or hold still. It seems to work like a charm and he cooperates. Although, Tyson doesn't like that I say that. And he's right, I probably shouldn't. I just like that Trey then listens to me and obeys after I say it.

Fitness Day 1 complete

How many times do you think the average person starts a workout program? I say a lot. I'm probably on my 100th time. Ok, probably not that but I'm sure it's more than I think.
Today I did it. Day 1 is checked off my 90 day fitness calendar.

Now?...Now?...Now?...

Just as I got in the shower tonight Trey came in the bathroom and started whining that he wanted me. I told him that I would be really fast. He then reached for a towel that was on the floor and wanted to give it to me. I told him just a minute. Then he said, "now?" handing me the towel again. Me: "Just a minute buddy." Trey: "now?" once again handing me the dirty towel Me: Hold on. I'm hurrying. Trey: "now?"
Well, you get the idea. It went back and forth like that until I got out each time Trey saying the exact thing, "now?" and repeatedly handing my the same towel.
After awhile all I could do was just smile and laugh.

En route to San Diego

We got off to a late start today. Not because we weren't packed and ready to go, but because when we were in the car and on the road at 10:20am. It was then that Tyson noticed that the brakes on the car were grinding. When we filled up with gas he checked them. Sure enough, the brakes were bad. So we went back home, got out of the car, and waited for Tyson to change the brakes. What should have only taken him 30-45 minutes took much longer. He has never changed the brakes on the Excursion and he said that there were a couple metal clips he didn't know how to get off or what they did and he had to search online for a YouTube video to show him. Technology is wonderful, isn't it?! But not only it took longer because of the clips, changing brakes with a couple broken ribs didn't help. It was painful for him. Well, 1:30pm we got back in the car and was finally headed to San Diego!
We got to the Marriott Residence Inn about 7:45pm. I was excited that it was a hotel that has 2 bedrooms, a pull-out sofa bed, and a full kitchen. We pretty much just unloaded the car and got settled.  I had pre-made dinners so it would save us money and be easy at meal times. I warmed up some taco meat for burritos and then we got ready for bed.

I'm just glad that we arrived safe and that Tyson was able to fix the car.

looking through photo album..

Emmry and Tage were just looking through some photo albums to find a picture of a beach. They got to some pictures of when I was pregnant with Emmry and Tage told Emmry that that was her in my tummy. Emmry then came over to me and told me she saw a picture of her when she was in my shirt.
Hahahaha

Water Logged

Today we went to Wet n' Wild water park, swam in our, and then had a bath.
Do you think that my children are water logged yet?

(pics at wet n wild)
(pic of em and t in tub)

What are you doing?

While Tyson was at football practice with Tage tonight, he text me around 7:30pm and asked my what I was doing. This was my response:
(pic of screen shot of conversation)
Sometimes I really don't think men understand what us stay at home Mom's do all day long (and all night. Hahaha).

Tyson's injury. Day 2

Only one day after Tyson's fall off Magic and this is what his leg looks like.
(pic of bruise leg)
And it's only going to look worse before it looks better.
OUCH!
He said that his ribs hurt worse today and that his leg didn't really bother him. I have asked him several times if he would go to the doctor, but he won't. "It just costs money to do that and they will just tell me what I already know. And that is they can't do anything for broken ribs." he said. And I have responded with remarks like, "I know, but at least you would know how many you broke" or "what if there is internal bleeding?" He still won't listen to me.

Happy Father's Day

Well so far it has been quite an eventful day.
Tyson left to go riding at 6:30am. I got up at 7:00am and started getting myself and the kids ready for church. We were 'racing' Dad. We all were going to see if we can be ready for church by the time he got home. 8:35am everyone was ready except me. That's when I got a phone call from Tyson. He had fallen off Magic and was hurt and Magic was no where to be seen. I quickly threw some clothes on we all got in the car to go find Dad and Magic.
Ty said that he didn't think that he broke any bones, but his left side really hurt and he possibly had cracked a rib. He painfully made his way to one of the 'main' dirt roads which followed along side of a canal. He told me where he parked at and said I could follow a dirt road along a canal to come and get him. Not too long after being on the dirt road I saw Magic. I stopped the car so I wouldn't spook him and Tage jumped out to go get him. Tage ran ahead on the road and then approached Magic slowly. Thankfully, Magic didn't run away. We found our horse. Now we just needed to find our Dad.
I called Tyson and told him we found Magic and that he was ok. Tyson said he was walking along the road to meet us but it would take him awhile to get to us. I wanted to leave Tage with Magic off the side of the road and come and get Ty. Although, Ty wanted us to stay there. A few minutes later Tyson called back and said that he changed his mind and that the pain was getting worse and that I could come and get him. But Tage didn't want to stay and hold Magic because he was afraid he would get away again. And Tyson didn't want me to tie Magic up along side the road. Ty said that he wasn't that far from us. Tage ran down the road to walk back with him and give him water. Finally, I saw my two boys walking slowly towards me far off in the distance. They had stopped several times and I could see Tyson putting his arm on his side like he was in a lot of pain. I just watched him as I could do nothing for him. For Tyson to show that he was in pain; I knew this had to be bad. He's a tough cowboy, but not that tough.
Tyson drove the excursion as I walked Magic down the road back to the horse trailer. Once back at the trailer I helped unsaddle Magic. Tyson looked pale and in extreme pain. I could tell that he was not feeling well at all. I asked him if he wanted to go straight to the hospital but he said that he just wanted to go home and evaluate everything. Luckily we were only about 15 minutes from home so we all went back to the house. 10:38am we were back home. It had been 2 hours since Tyson called me telling me what happened. Honestly, I feel we were blessed.  Magic could have been lost for hours or not found at all and even worse than that - Tyson could have been hurt so badly that he couldn't get up. Also a blessing that he was close enough to a road that I could drive to find him. I don't even want to think of all the horrible things that could have been. I just feel lucky to have him home with me.

(pic of Em and trey waiting in road as Tage ran off)
(pic of Ty and Magic)
(pic of me walking Magic)

After Tyson had showered, he rested in the living room chair. I gave him some pain medicine and put ice on his left rib area and left thigh. He was scraped up and really badly bruised. An hour later the kids sang him the "I'm so glad when Daddy comes home" song that they were going to sing in sacrament meeting. It was adorable. Even Trey was singing and doing the actions. (I had been practicing this song with Trey for several days now)

Now it is rest time. Everyone is taking a beautiful Sunday nap. The house is quiet. I have the most overwhelming feeling of love, gratitude and peace in my heart. I know that today is Father's Day and we generally give love and thanks to our earthly Fathers, and I do, but I even am more grateful for my Heavenly Father. HE is the reason I have all that I do today. HE is the reason I have Tyson, the Father of my beautiful children. HE is the one whose gives me that deep down comfort. To HIM, I am forever in debt too.

Of all the titles of respect and honor and admiration that we are given to deity, He asked us to address Him as Father.  -Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

I love my Heavenly Father so much. I love my Dad so much. I love my husband so much. I wouldn't be who I am today because of these men in my life.

Happy Father's Day.

Damn Dog

Yes, you read that right. I swore. Maybe one of these days when I come back and read this and I will regret writing that, but as of today that's right. Damn dog.

(pic of torn library book)

Sign of the Beaver is no longer the library's book. I own it now. I wonder how much they will charge me for the book. Some ridiculous amount I'm sure. I went onto Amazon and could buy it for $4.48. The back of the books says $6.99. They better not charge me more than that.

I was reading out by the pool while Tage and Emmry were swimming (Trey was napping). Then after awhile I wanted to get in but was worried about water damage if I left the book near the pool, so I put the book on a small patio table by the back door right beside my phone which I also was worried about it getting wet (I turn the ringer way up so I would at least hear it). After we were done swimming I noticed the book wasn't on the table. I looked on the kitchen counter thinking I must have just put it inside. It wasn't there. "I could have sworn that I put the book right by my phone" I thought to myself. Then I looked around the backyard thinking to myself that "I know I did. Zeus must have got it." Sure enough, the book was all torn apart in the dirt by the back gate.
Grrrrrrrrrrr!
I was not happy.

I hate this dog. Actually, I hate all dogs. It's not that I am not a dog person, because I don't mind them. I just don't want to own one. I don't want a dog or any other animal in my house (...besides Diesel, our Betta fish that we have. And even that I am getting sick of because nobody cares about it or remembers to feed it anymore and I have to drain and clean the stinky tank). And if they aren't in my house then naturally they are outside- which is where Zeus is. Our horses we ride. Our chickens give us eggs. Zeus just chews on everything, is dirty, sheds, creates poop all over my backyard and just costs us money to feed. Tage is the only one that gives him any attention and even that it's not that much. I just tell him to go away or am hip chucking him (because he is so big) to move. I can go on and on about the things that Zeus does or has done as to why I don't want him anymore, but I won't. Just understand that today I am very upset with him.
I guess I should have taken that extra two steps and put the book inside the house. My mistake.

Father's Day Questionaire

(pics of the kids questionnaires)

Kids Father's Day gifts are complete.
Top 3 Favorite Q&A:
1st was from Emmry.
How old is Dad: 8, 9, 10, 11
Oh my Emmry. When are you ever going to learn how to count?

2nd was from Tage.
My dad's favorite thing to do is: go on Craig's List.
Hahahaha. Yes, your right Tage. He does do that a lot.

and 3rd was from Emmry again. Same question as Tages.
Favorite thing to do: go to work

Children's Museum

It was a long, but fun day at the Children's Museum downtown Phoenix today.
We left around 9:30am (arriving at the museum about 10:00am) and didn't get back home until 2:00pm!
I gave Tage the option of staying home alone or coming with us. He decided to stay home and said that "the Children's Museum was for little kids and he is too big for that." Which I kind of agree, I just didn't want him to feel left out. (But I did notice a note on my bedroom door when we got home.....(pic of welcome home note) maybe he did miss us....??)

There is not much to say because I think that the pictures tell it all. But I will say that I think the Top 3 activities were:
1. air tunnels
2. play-doh
3. car race tracks

(pic of scarfs in air tunnels)
Emmry and Trey enjoyed putting in scarf in air tunnels and catching then catching them.

(pic in treehouse)
We climbed up a gigantic 'tree' house and sat in a boat. (They even had a bathtub with wings which was really cute and the kids liked sitting in that too.)

(pic snack time)

(play doh)
They could have sat at the play-doh table for hours if I let them. We don't play with that stuff too often at our house so maybe that's why. That stuff just gets all dried up and them crumbly and it's just a mess to clean up. Better here than at my house I say!

(pic making fathers day gift)
I finally pried them away from the play-doh table to do a craft. They had a cute poem printed on a paper that the kids could cut out and give to their Dad's for Father's Day. Obviously Emmry enjoyed putting stickers on hers.....and yes, this will be their gift to give to Dad!

(A few other odd pictures; scooping and weighing lentils. playing with magnet shapes. Fastest pencil car and cutest drivers I have ever seen. )

(pic racing cars down track)
This was another activity that the kids loved! They raced these cars down that track at least 40 times. No joke. Emmry would let hers go and then jump off the side and run to the bottom to get it out of the box it landed in. She would show a very sad and upset face if someone else had taken her car out. Trey would do the same thing except I would lift him down to run to the end. He too would have a sad face if there was no car in the box when her looked in.

Culture Pass

Sunrise Mountain Library offer passes called culture passes. These passes give you 2 free admissions to museums or other attractions in the valley but you have to use it within 7 days. The Children's Museum is one of them and a very popular one in fact. Well to get one of these passes (at least one of the popular ones) you have to be at the library before it opens and wait in line. Yes, a line. A line of people waiting to get one of these passes because there is only a small number of them.
Yesterday I got there at 8:30am (30 minutes before the library opened) but unfortunately there wasn't any passes available. (The librarian showed me how to look online to see if the pass I want would even be there that day. Yesterday, it wasn't that people in front of me got the passes, there just wasn't any Children Museum passes there that day. Today I got there 50 minutes early. I was first in line. First! According to the library website they had 4 Children's Museum passes available so I knew for sure I would get one today.
The crazy part of me even writing this is that by the time the library opened at 9:00am there was over 25 people waiting for the doors to open. Not all were wanting culture passes though. In fact only 9 people were.
Anyway. I got my pass for 2 free admissions to the Children's Museum. Which will technically make the trip there free because Trey is already free and Tage isn't going. I can't wait to go with Renee and Patsy and their kids on Friday.

Stick a fork in me......

....I'm DONE!

I had one of those whining/want to pull my hair out/take deep breathes kind of an afternoon.
Because Trey didn't take a nap today I would have thought that it was going to be him that would cause me to want to scream tonight. But no, it was Emmry. Sheesh! Kicking, screaming, hitting....I thought that my sweet Emmry had jumped ship and was gone because all I saw was a nasty grumpy Emmry.
I can't say that she was the happiest camper before I told her that she couldn't go with Tage and Dad to football practice, but that's when the crazy Emmry started. It all started when they left (6:11) and I wouldn't take her to the bathroom and do everything for her (pull down her skirt, and her panties, then sit her on the toilet, wait for her to be done, wipe her, pull up her panties and skirt for her......do it all for her). She threw the biggest tantrum. Hit me with the movie case she had in her hand because I wouldn't turn on the movie. Pulled on my while screaming. Oh my, I tried my hardest to remain calm and talk to her calmly but it was hard to even look at her and talk to her because she would just scream in my face and flop on the ground. Finally after multiple warnings of locking her outside, I took her by the arm and put he on the front porch and shut the door. (I have done this a couple times now and I have found that this is the only thing that is working for her right now. Timeouts, stay in your room, whatever other discipline methods just haven't worked with Emmry like this one has. She does NOT like to be shut outside!) Of course I pull up the dining room blinds so I could see her (not that I wouldn't still be able to hear her crying if I left the kitchen area). After a few minutes I went outside (she was still screaming) and asked if she wanted to cuddle so we could talk. Nope. More intense screaming and kicking her legs at me like she wanted me to leave; so I went back inside. After another few minutes I went back out even though she was still crying and asked the same question. More screaming still. So I turned around as to go back inside and she said ok, ok, I want you. So we came inside and cuddled for a few minutes until she was pretty much calm. Then I told her that we were going to get her dressed for bed and she could watch the movie she was holding (The Chipmunks). That's when it all started again. The kicking, screaming, whining. Ugh!
6:45pm I put the kids in the car. We went for a drive just so I could get them to fall asleep.
(pic of kids in car....not crying...for the moment)
7:03pm Emmry is still crying. (pic of her crying in car)
7:12pm She was asleep.
7:25pm I took her to her room and put a pull-up on trying not to wake her but she woke up and once again started crying and saying that she wanted to get back in the car and drive by the temple. (The Phoenix temple that is still under construction. That's where we were driving to and were almost there when she fell asleep.) I laid with her for a bit and sang the same two songs we sing every night; I love to see the temple and I am a Child of God. Once again she was asleep. Now I just hope she is out for the rest of the night!

Goggles

Trey- show me your eyes......
(pic of trey with goggles on his eyes)
Silliest boy.

Tonight. June 9th.

Dinner together as a family = check.
Family Home Evening = check.
Enjoying an evening swim = check.

We had a good night.

(pic of kids in pool. Tage on white raft. Emmry under yellow raft. Trey standing on side.)

Wonder

Tonight I finished a book called Wonder. (Tage and I were reading it together. He actually finished 3 days ago.) It was a great book. A must read for sure; especially for kids around the age 9-12. This is definitely going to be a required book to read in my home with all my children! Possibly multiple time throughout their life.
Before I returned it to the library I took pictures of my favorite and least favorite pages.
Favorite page was of course the part that basically sums up the point or moral of the story was (kindness) and my least favorite part was a chapter that I was really saddened on. (complete rudeness)

Tied up

We hung out a lot back by the horses today. I don't know why because it is so stinkin' hot! (105*)
Trey wanted Dad to tie his hands together. It was hilarious watching him try and get the ropes off. For some reason I kept thinking of Nephi in the Book of Mormon when his brothers Laman and Lemuel tied Nephi up.
(pic of Trey tied up with yellow rope)
I ended up in tying him very shortly after he got tied up. Really, just enough time to take a few pictures.

Sacrament Meeting

I'm going to be honest. I didn't want to go to church today. We were having a lazy morning and none of us were even dressed at 8:20am. Our church is at 9:00am, mind you. I told Tyson that maybe we should just skip sacrament meeting and then go to classes (because we were substitute teachers for Tage's class, otherwise I'm sure I would have just said skip church all together) Even though I said this, I knew it was wrong and that we needed to go to church. I quickly got going and got everyone ready for church. We were late of course, but still made it in time for the sacrament.
I'm SO glad that I went to church today!
My friend Clenece Thompson spoke. She told of her Dad's conversion story and emphasized on the song 'True to the Faith'. It was such a wonderful talk. I felt the Spirit so many times.
After she spoke Elder Hall played 'How Great Thou Art' on the piano. I always love piano solos. The Spirit was so strong in Sacrament Meeting for me today. I felt like I could cut it with a knife. Amazing.
I know that I belong to the one and only true church. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Not tired?

Tyson ended up having to work late tonight so I had to take Tage to football practice at 6:30. Neither Trey nor Emmry had napped today so I thought they would probably fall asleep on the way so I got them all ready for bed. At least I thought for sure Trey would fall asleep. And he did. Except after I dropped Tage off I went to go get gas and he woke up. What?!?! That was only a 30 minute sleep - if even that! I thought he would possibly be out the rest of the night!
So we went to Walmart to kill some time. We got pool toys and floaties and then went back to watch Tage at practice. I thought maybe Trey would fall asleep again, but it was only a 5 minute drive from Walmart to practice. He didn't.
(pic of Emmry and Trey at practice)
Practice got over at 8:30pm and we headed home. Again, I thought for sure they would fall asleep. Emmry did. Trey did not. 9:00pm we got home and Trey was still awake. He must have been on the 'beyond tired and wired phase'.
(pic of trey showing me his muscles w/ floaties on)
Finally around 9:45pm I got him to sleep.
That was a loooooong day for the both of us. He was up around 6:30am and was a constant go, go, go all day long. Playing, swimming, dancing, screaming, you name it. I'm sure he did it.
Good night my sweet Treyzer, please sleep in in the morning.

No more booster seat

(pic of Emmry sitting at table w/ no booster)

Today when I asked Emmry to sit up to the table for breakfast she said; and I quote: "Me don't need my cow seat anymore. No. My a big girl"

I love this little girl to smithereens!!!!! Or should I be saying this big girl?!
Hahaha

Magic

We decided on a name.
(pic of Tage with Magic)
Meet Magic.

We looked at his papers to see what his Mom and Dad names were. Basically, when you hear that if a horse is 'papered' it means they come with a short genealogy sheet. It just tells the name of the breeder and their horses names.
(pic of the horse register paper)
Names that we thought of: (Tyson didn't have a say so. He said that we get to name him)
Big Beef (Hahaha. This was a joke Tage and I said because he is so big looking compared to Reggie)
Blue
Magic
Blaze

We decided on Magic. We feel that it fits him. We like it.

Magic is still shy. We hope that we will warm up to us soon. He doesn't come over to the fence like Reggie did (and still does) when we first got him. But if you go into his corral he doesn't run away from you either, He would stand still and let you pet him. Sometimes he would back up a little, but for the most part he would let you come near him. He seems like a gentle, low key, low tempered, obedient horse. Exactly what we have been looking for.

I'm excited to get to ride Magic. Tyson really wants me to ride with him. It's his way of saying that he wants to spend more time with me and to do something together that we both can enjoy. And that we can "ride off into the sunset together" Hahaha. Yes, Ty really did say that to me. In a half joking tone of voice of course.

White horse

I guess Tyson thought that Reggie needed a friend. In all honesty, Tyson has been looking for another horse for months and months. He wanted to get another horse so that I could ride with him as well as the kids would have a horse to ride.
Reggie isn't the most calm horse. He isn't registered or papered so we don't know exactly what breed he is or where he came from. We are just going by word of mouth as of what we were told - which was yes, he is a quarter horse. 16.1 hands. Doing a lot more looking at horses and a lot more research Ty and I have decided that yes, he does have quarter horse in him, but we think that he is a mix with thoroughbred. Which thoroughbreds are a little thinner, not as stalky, longer thinner necks, and a hotter temper. Tyson wanted to get a calm "family" horse for me and the kids. A pure quarter horse which would be registered and papered so we know exactly where it came from. And he wanted to get a boy because girls would just make Reggie act "too weird."
Well after months and months of searching for 'the perfect' horse (and the perfect price) we found one.
(pic of Magic the night we got him)
He came to us with the name Blue, but we don't feel that name suites him so he doesn't have a name as of tonight. We will decide tomorrow after all the kids get to see him and we have a name making party. Hahaha

Nail polish at nap time

We went to Ross today. I got Emmry a small 6 pack of nail polishes. (clearance for $3)
I told her that at quiet time we could paint our finger nails.
So at quiet time today we had Mommy/Daughter time with a bowl of ice cream and then painted our nails.
(pics of nails and us eating ice cream)

summer time = pool time

You know it's summer when you see this.....
(pic of all towels along fence)

I had a couple friends (Tanya Colhoun and Clenece Thompson) and their kids come over for a swim this afternoon. We had a great time chit-chatting while all the kids splashed around.
Everyone is going to sleep good tonight! They burned off a lot of energy today!

"Me" time

Tyson is at Tage's football practice and I just put Emmry and Trey to bed (actually it was around 7:50ish. Almost an hour ago). I have showered and straightened up the house just a little but I feel like I want my "me time." My journaling time.

Fish Cake

This Friday is my friend Stefanie Neumer's birthday. A few of our friends got together today at the Foothills pool in Vistancia to celebrate.
I made a cake - 'a fishy cake' as Emmry said.
I thought it turned out cute.

Tuff Cowboy

Well, as of tonight I not only have my own company (Dry Creek Holdings LLC which the condo is bought under) but I now have my own website!
It's www.tuffcowboy.com as well as .org and .net, I think.

There is some policy through Chase bank that doesn't allow Tyson to own his own company. That is why the Dry Creek Holdings is in my name as well as this website.

Tyson came home from riding this morning and had some crazy idea that he wants to have his own website. He is always trying to come up with something new that he could sell that would strike us rich and we would be millionaires. Good for him. I will let him ride everyday if that gets his brain wheels rollin' and he could come up with something. In fact, when we first got our boat in 2007 (or was it 2008? I can't remember.) Ty had this idea of starting a business to have people re-carpet or fix the boards on your boat trailer while you are out boating and having fun. I thought that was a good idea too. Not sure why he didn't pursue that. Anyways, me on the other hand is NOT an entrepreneur. I do not have that spirit in me. I am more like a work horse. You tell me what to do and I will get it done. About 4 years ago I had this grand idea of making hospital gowns and selling them to hospitals, but I didn't ever pursue that. I needed someone to take charge and be my manager and worry about all the nitty gritty details. Maybe one day I will do that. Right now my children are #1 priority and I didn't want to take the time away from them and be in my sewing room missing out on being with them. And I wasn't willing to sacrifice my sleep either. I'm selfish. I know.
So back to my website. Tyson's website really. He wants to sell T-shirts with our logo on it (I will come back to that in a minute) and horse supplies that we have uniquely 'made it our own'. He also had this brilliant idea of making magnetized mats to put on the inside sides of the horse trailer where your horse might kick and cause dents on your trailer. Cool idea, huh?! We looked online to see if anyone else had done this and as far as we could tell, there isn't anything that exists like that.

My week......(May27-31)

Tuesday, May 27
Because the Koi fish Ty bought yesterday died 2 hours after he got it, we took the dead thing back to Pets Mart and got another one. The guy asked where we were keeping it (tank, pond....etc. I said a pond. That wasn't a lie right? It is outside in somewhat of a pond. I just didn't tell him it was in the water that our horse drinks.)

(pic of kids at Pet Mart holding fish)

It was a low key/catch-up day; laundry and cleaning type of day.

Once again just after a few hours the dang Koi fish died again. And then soon after the gold fish died too!! I guess we are just not meant to have fish on Reggie's trough. I don't think we will be getting anymore fish.

Wednesday, May 28
Swimming at Vistancia Pool!
We met my friend Stefanie and her daughter Sofia at the pool today. I can't believe that it is already another summer here. Ugh! I dread summertime here.
We were too busy having fun that I didn't take any pictures! We all enjoyed it.
Emmry wore her life jacket and was swimming around like crazy playing with Tage. Trey broke out of his 'I will just sit on the first step' shell. He enjoyed jumping off the edge to me and splashing and swimming like crazy with me. I better watch out now. He is going to be crazy in our pool now.

Sunrise Mountain Library
After Emmry and Trey took a good long nap, we went to the library.
I got this book (pic of Wonder book)

for Tage and I to read. We needed a good summer read. This book came recommended from my friend, Olivia Montez. She said that it is a must read and a required book for her kids to read. I'm excited to read it. I just now need to make the time to do so.

Thursday, May 29
Today turned out to be kind of a boring day. We didn't go anywhere and didn't do much. Emmry and Trey took a 3 hour nap, which was nice. So I knew they wouldn't want to go to bed early so we all ended up going to Tage's football practice.
Of course I took pictures of the kids while we played on the playground. I can't believe that I got this amazing silhouette shot. I'm in love!
(pi of kids on swing)

Friday, May 30
Summer Movie Day!
Harkins Theatre does summer movies. Basically it is 10 weeks. 10 movies. 7 dollars. These are not 'new' movies. They're already out on DVD, but it is just a chance to come and watch them in the theatre and get out of the heat. (....and to boost popcorn sales at the theatre. hahaha)
(pic of kids in front of movie sign)
(pic of Emmry and friends in front of sign)
We went with a few of my friends and their girls today. Tage wanted to invite his friend, Carson, but he couldn't go. So he was outnumbered with a whole bunch of girls!!

Saturday, May 31
Tyson started out his day taking Reggie for a ride. I slept in! (as much as I could, that is....) Trey woke up around 7:20am and Emmry shortly thereafter.
I have been looking on Craigslist for a bed for Trey for awhile now, I found a bunk bed I wanted to look at and it was only about 10 minutes away so I got ready and went to look at it. I liked it, but Ty didn't agree. It was $350 and needed mattresses. Tyson is always right. Sheesh, I can't believe I just said that. But he is. We don't really need a bunk bed and so looking at it in the way of getting a twin bed and mattress for $400+ (because we would need to buy a new mattress) was too expensive. So the search will continue.
We all went swimming in our backyard and ordered Jimmy Johns for lunch. (I had a tuna sandwich. and yes, it was good.)
(pic of swimming. Dad throwing Trey up )

The rest of the day was just chill. Tyson and Tage went to the football game of the 2 teams that beat them. (Red Army vs. Raiders)Tage's team (Rebels) will most likely be playing one of them at the playoff games in San Diego Tournament which is in 3 weeks.
I tried to get Emmry and Trey to take a nap, but that didn't happen. Neither of them napped. We just played and played and played. It made it for a long afternoon for me but an early bedtime for both of them, so that was nice.

Perfect Seat

I had to go to The Stock Shop (the kids call it the chicken store) to get chicken food and dog food today. The kids love going there. Trey found a perfect seat for viewing these baby chicks.
(pic of trey looking at chicks sitting on bagged food)

Pretzels

This pretzel filled container was FULL 7 days ago. Tage has eaten them ALL!

Memorial Day

Monday,May 26

What a fun day we had!

First we went to Walmart and got 2 small goldfish to put in Reggie's water trough. And also got a Betta fish, small take and supplies for that. Emmry picked out a blue fish and named him Diesel.

(pic of kids picking out fish at Walmart)

First we put the goldfish in Reggies trough then got Diesel all situated. All the fish were in their new 'homes'
Not even 2 hours after that both goldfish were dead. Darn. Tyson ran to Pets Mart and got 1 large goldfish (25 cents) and 1 large koi (that cost $6!) Good thing the koi was guaranteed for 2 weeks because once again, just a few hours later, it was dead.
What on earth?!?!
I will have to go tomorrow and return it and get another one.

We invited Nick and Clenece Thompson and their family over for a BBQ and swimming at 5:30pm. Tage invited his friend Carson over. We had hamburgers, corn on the cob, frog eye salad, watermelon, chips and soda. It all tasted super yummy. After we ate the kids went swimming while us parents watched and chatted. After awhile of swimming we had ice cream and brownies.
It was a very casual and very relaxed evening. I enjoyed it. It was nice to have friends come over and socialize a bit!
(pic with everyone by pool)

After everything got cleaned up and all the kids had showered we all sat down together and watched a movie I had picked up from Redbox earlier in the day called Cowgirls and Angels 2. It turned out to be a late night. Trey fell asleep in my arms when the movie was almost over around 10:15pm. This was my first movie I have sat down to watch with the family in a long time. (But of course I was up and down a lot taking care of the kids needs) I actually really enjoyed the movie, but my favorite part of the whole evening was that at the end of the movie, when the music just started to play as the credits were going, Emmry got up and started to dance and then Tage got up and was dancing with her. It was adorable. Ty and I kind of 'danced' while we were sitting down on the couch and we were all smiling and having a great time. It made my day complete. Having to go to bed at 11:00pm was worth it because of how much fun we were having all together.

Proud

I've decided that today's word is proud.

I'm proud to be an American.
I'm proud of those that sacrificed their lives to serve my country.
I'm proud to fly my flag for all to see.
I'm proud to teach my children about American history.

Happy Memorial Day!)

Easter and Mothers Day pictures

Well I finally got Easter pictures of my kids taken this morning. They aren't the best, but at least I made an effort.
Emmry was a complete bear and would not look at the camera or if she did she would squint and cover her eyes and say, "eyes, eyes" (meaning that the sun was in her eyes....which it totally wasn't.)
After almost 20 minutes of trying to get ONE dang picture I gave up. I was done and completely exhausted. It is what it is. I will just have to call whatever I got good enough and be satisfied with them - poor quality or good. Done.
Maybe I will try again next week, but probably not. So I am calling these my Easter and Mothers Day pictures.
Kuddos to all you Moms out there that got pictures of your kids all dressed up on Easter and Mothers Day. You ladies rock!

Stuck dime

I went to put my SD card from my DSLR camera into my laptop this morning and it wouldn't go it. I looked in it and this is what I saw....
(pic of money stuck in slot)
Emmry or Trey must have found a special place to put their money. It's a good thing that I got that dime out with not too much trouble or I would have been one mad mamma!

stand against the wall

I made Tage stand against the wall this afternoon as punishment instead of just sending him to his room.
He was bugging Emmry which made her whiny. Tage wan't listening to me when I told him stop bugging her, or to walk away, or to stop teasing her. So I made him stand against the wall so I could see him. He didn't like that. He began to sit down and I told him to stand. He said that it was stupid. Good. I guess that punishment worked.

"Jesus doesn't like that"

This has been happening for awhile now, but I can't remember if I have written it down or not.....

Whenever Trey would hit or do something mean, Emmry would say, "Jesus doesn't like it when you ________(hit, kick, bite....)."
Hummmm, I wonder where she learned that.
Me, of course.
She's using the words right out of my mouth.
I better watch what I say!

primary talk

Emmry gave a talk in primary today. The topic was "The prophet speaks to us at general conference." This was her second talk she has given. She acted the exact same as she did the first time. Wasn't afraid or shy, she would just talk really quietly and mumble the last word I would say. For example, if I said, "The prophet speaks to us..." She would just simple say, "us." I tried to talk loud enough where everyone could hear the talk, but still allow Emmry to feel like she was given it.

Here is her talk:
(although I'm pretty sure that I cut out a few lines or changed a couple things at the last minute.)

There are many ways that Heavenly Father can talk to you. He can speak to you through the Holy Ghost or the scriptures. But one very important way is through prophets and other general authorities. We can hear them at general conference.

Today President Thomas S. Monson is our prophet. He tells us what God wants us to know and do. When we listen to general conference, it is as if God Himself is speaking to us.

Our prophet loves us just as the Savior loves us. If we do the things he teaches, we can be happy.

In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

I love my sweet Emmry and I love that she is willing to get up in front of primary and give talks! Her testimony is small, but strong. She loves primary and loves her teacher, Sister Garriss. Her favorite primary song is I Love To See The Temple. Which has been the same song for at least a year now.

Saturday, May 24, 2014

Sure.

You would often hear this little word come out of Trey's mouth. Sure. Not yes, yep or uh-huh -it's sure.
Cutest little word ever!

Wet n' Wild

We started our first official full day of summer break out with a bang. We went to Wet n' Wild!!!
Tage invited his friend Carson to come so he would have a buddy to do all the big rides on and I could hang out with my little munchkins in the kiddie area.
But what was completely great for me was that as we pulled into the parking lot and getting our sunscreen on my friend, Brooke, pulled up! Yay! She has 3 kids. Her oldest son, Dylan, is a year older that Tage, then Sydnee is a year younger than Tage. And then Cohen is a year older than Emmry. So none of our kids exactly match up but Tage likes to hang out with Dylan. Brooke also brought our friend, Karolyns 3 kids which the first 2 are the exact ages as Brooke's. Anyway, it was great to have a friend to talk to. Now that I know they have season passes too, we can go together a lot this summer! Plus, Tage would a friend to be with since none of his friends have season passes. Tage ended up paying for Carsons ticket today and that would get expensive to always have to buy a ticket for a friend. ($44/ one day ticket!)
Everyone had a great time and Emmry wants to go back right now!
(pic of Emmry and Trey)
I didn't end up getting a picture of Tage. He was off having fun and he always tells me that "it's embarrassing" when I take pictures in places like that, so I didn't want to do that to him today. Today. You better believe that I will get at least one picture of him this summer.

Last Day of School

Well, 5th grade is over for Tage.
He is a smart kid and made the honor roll almost every semester.
He still loves P.E class the most (go figure)
His best friends this year were Julian and Shawn O. In fact, at the beginning of the year all of 5th grade did a time capsule and the students put in a paper stating their 'favorites'. Favorite color, friends, things to do. Well, Shawn O. has been a favorite all year long. Him and Tage even swapped papers today and took each others home so they can "always remember him." (Yes, Tage really did say that.) I should contact Shawn's Mom so she can take a picture of Tage's 'favorite' sheet so I have record of it.

For the last day of school Tage said that he just wanted to hang out at home and not call a friend (which I thought was weird). So I went and got him a Jimmy Johns sandwich and he just hung out the rest of the day. He played Clash Clans on the iPad alot and stayed up late - playing Clash Clans.

Happy Summer Break!!

Good job on a great school year Tager.
I love you
xoxo,
Mom

Pink Bag

As I sat down during quiet time today to catch up on my ever so far behind documenting I went to go find my 'pink bag' that I had hard copy notebooks and papers of monthly letters to my kids as well as doctor stats (which I can most likely replace from the Dr.) but anyway, I could not find that 'pink bag' anywhere. This is a bag that I only use when I went on road trips-- like to Utah. As we would drive I would catch up on my monthly letters that I would write as well as other documents of my family. Well retracing the last time I had it was in November when I went to Las Vegas over Thanksgiving. I know for sure that I brought it home and it was on the floor of my closet. I remember debating as I was packing to go to Utah for Christmas as to whether I should bring it or not. I decided not to because I was doing so much documenting on my laptop and doing stuff with pictures and wasn't using the information in the pink bag. So I know for sure I left it on my closet floor. 2 months ago when I went to Utah I briefly looked for the pink bag but couldn't find it. I thought, "I must have taken it upstairs or its in the office. I don;t have time to look for it right now, we need to get in the car and just go." Now fast forward to today during my quiet time. I needed Treys stats for his 7 month and his monthly letters. Ive checked everywhere and I can't find that pink bag with irreplaceable journaling and personal letters to my kids. I'm feeling completely sick and so sad. The only thing I can think of is that the bag was taken when our home got broke into on Christmas Eve/Christmas morning. Not sure why they would have taken it, but they took a small jewelry box that I have had since I was a child ( A very non expensive one that I got from Christmas or Birthday or something from my parents.) But I kept it just because it was a childhood memory. I know that there was nothing even in it. All I can think of is that they grabbed the bag off the floor to carry the jewelry box in.
I have seriously looked everywhere and have gone through a lot of emotions from mad to sad to grateful. yes, grateful.
Right now I am feeling grateful that even though I don't have these irreplaceable documents (with by the way most of Emmrys is written here on this blog. Feeling so blessed that I documented them here!!) Anyway, I'm feeling grateful that though those papers are gone I DO have what is even more important that that.....I HAVE MY CHILDREN! They are with me. Safe. They love me, I love them. We will create more memories and I will write more thoughts and feeling down about them. The most irreplaceable items I still have. Feeling so, so blessed right now.

On a little side note, Emmry could tell that I was sad and asked what was wrong. I told her that I was missing a pink bag and can't find it anywhere and that it has very important papers in it. I told her that the pink bag looked just like my yellow bag I have and put my makeup in when we go on vacation. She said very sincerely, "I will help you find it. Um....is it at Target?" Me: "No, sweetheart, it's not at Target." And then later on this evening when I came back from going on a walk alone she said, "you happy now, Mom?" Me: "yes, I'm happy. I have you and I love you."

I love my sweet Emmry. Love her so much.

Once again, I am feeling a lot better now. I have so much to be grateful for. I may not have the 'things' in life, but I have what matters most- my family.

All this gratefulness is probably because I am reminded of this last conference talk by Pres. Uchdorf. - "Being grateful in any circumstance"- or something along those lines. Anyway, I'm feeling very grateful.
Also let me just add the thoughts of what I will call the "grateful cycle" Just imagine this in a circle:
Grateful - happiness - obedience - blessings - back to grateful.

another month went by since i blogged

And I serious this time.
I am writing EVERYTHING DOWN!!!!!!!! Right here on this stupid blog.

I can't find my pink bag that has all of Emmrys first 2 years of life monthly letters that I wrote her as well as some of Trey's information - mostly stats that I could most likely get from the Dr. office. I found a notebook that had his first 10 months. not sure where his 11-13 months are. But I think I have his 14-current here on my computer in documents.

I want to have at least 3 places where things are written. blog, printed, external hard drive in documents.

I am more than ever committed to document. more than everrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

april 20. cinnamon rolls

Easter morning treat. homemade cinnamon rolls.
these are ready to frost and will be devoured soon......
(pic of cinnamon rolls on pan ready to be frosted)

april 20. Easter Sunday best

Well, no Easter family picture today. We were lucky to even make it to church before the sacrament hymn today. I swear we are always late. Seriously. I wish that at least 1 time in the next 2 months we can be one time. one time! that's all I ask!

I will just pretend that next week is Easter and do a picture then. Who cares if my kids grow a centimeter this week or gain 1 lb. I'm sure nobody will ever know or ever notice in the picture.

april 20. Easter Sunday

It's Easter! Happy Easter!
Because of Him..................

(pic of Chirst with words because of Him)

april 20. singing in church

I'm not one to normally take pictures in church, but today I had to. It was emmrys first time being able to go up on the stand and sing with the rest of the primary. They sang ????. Emmry didn't even sing one word. In fact, she didn't even look out at the audience. She hid her head in tages legs the whole time and Tage ended up carrying her back to sit down as she hid her face in his shoulder.
But I had to document this first for her.
There will be many times she will be up there with the primary children and many more chances to sing her heart out.
Love her so much.
(pic of Tage and Emmry in church)

april 21. new booster seat

For the past 2 weeks if not longer I have had to convince Trey to sit in his high chair. He would always want to sit in Emmrys booster seat at the table but then Emmry would get upset that he was sitting in her seat. So finally it's official. The high chair has been put away and trey now has his own booster seat and sits at the table like a big boy.
I'm a little sad. My baby boy aint no baby anymore.
Emmry of course wanted a new booster seat because she "is a big girl" too. Now it just looks like I have twins at my house. too cute. I love it.

april 21. track and field

Tage signed up to do a track and field event tonight at Sunrise Mountain High School. about 4-5 other schools besides Parkridge (where Tage goes) in the Peoria district were there to compete.
Tage did the ??? meter relay and the shot put.
on really they took first and shot put Tage placed second.
The kids and I were there for almost an hour and 45 min and he still hadn't done one competition. It was hot and I was hungry for dinner so we left and Dad stayed to watch Tage.

april 22. naptime

I tried to lay Trey in his crib today for a nap but he would.not.have.it!
I could tell that he was tired and needed one so I asked him if he wanted to sleep on my bed. He said yes. So I layed him on my bed and told him to go to sleep because it is nap time and then I walked out. I went into check on him just a couple minutes later and he was already out like a light. I didn't hear a peep from him till about an hour and a half later.

april. 25. Wheat grass

Funny story about wheat grass....
For a RS activity I am going to grow wheat grass for the centerpieces. But first I needed to go buy wheat grass seed.
I went to Home Depot yesterday and asked where wheat grass was. They looked confused and I told them the it was the kind that you can grow then juice it and drink it and it was very healthy and beneficial. The man looked at me weird and said, "you mean smoke it?" NO! Its WHEAT grass not weed. sheesh! I left home depot and later last night I went to Sprouts whole food grocery store. for sure they would have stuff for wheat grass. That guy there looked at me funny too and said that they didn't have any seed but they had a huge flat of already grown wheat grass for $15. Nope, not gonna help.
I called my friend who has grown wheat grass before and asked her where I find the seed......low and behold its just wheat kernals! Ya know- the little brown rice looking seed wheat is before you grind it into flour....yep. that's it!
So I got a couple cups of wheat and soaked them in a bowl of water overnight.
Today I planted it and in just a few days I will have little sprouts of wheat grass growing!

hello, hello!

It's been a month since I've posted anything. I'm going to regret this later when I try to compile all this into a book.
So, today....
I feel I have been a bit more high anxiety, on edge, impatient and not as loving the past few days. Its a good thing that I recognize this though. Makes me want to try to be calmer and more loving at those crazy moments. for instance; Emmry was crying and whining because I went upstairs to get something and she was mad that I told her to just stay downstairs and I would be right back. She cried and cried, whined and pulled on me (which irritated the tar out of me when she does that. She wasted me to hold he. I kept telling her to stop her crying and then I would. She kept screaming and whining and saying her tummy hurt. Then she bent over and acted like she was going to throw up. She spit on the tile. I walked over to get a paper towel (of course she followed screaming that she wanted me. and again, I told her that I would talk to her and hold her when she stopped her crying and because she was crying that is why her tummy was hurting. Well I got the paper towel and turned around just in time to catch throw up in my hand. Luckily I had that paper towel. That little stinker got so wound up that it caused her to throw up. Oh my. what a stinker. She then called down enough for me to talk to her, but I knew she needed a nap.
Today, the only way that I could keep myself from screaming and shutting the kids in their rooms because I was fed up with the whining and crying from both was to put them in the car and take them on a drive to get them to go to sleep.
It worked for Emmry, but not for Trey. At least trey was good about laying down and taking a nap when we got inside though.

Dog-sitting club

I asked Tage what he wanted  for his birthday and the first thing he said was a boxer puppy. and then he said a few other things like clothes and shoes. But then he said what he wanted the very most was a dog. And he said that if he doesn't get one that he would start a dog-sitting club. I asked what that was and he said that people would bring their dogs to our house and he would watch them, play with them and if they need to eat he would feed them but the owners had to bring their own food because every dog has their certain food that they need to eat or they would get sick. and she would charge $5.00 an hour. But then quickly asked me if $5.00 was too much and I said that it was fine but maybe on the high end. He quickly said $3.00.
well Tage, a dog isn't happening. Sorry, Tager. looks like you will be starting up a dog-sitting club. Good luck with that.

Speech

I'm a little concerned with Emmrys speech. I can't say she has a speech problem, but she sure doesn't talk as good as other kids her age. Her 'P's', 'M's' and 'F's'' sound like 'B's. and B's like W's. 'G's and "T's" like 'D's. oh, what else. There are other letters too I'm just not thinking right now. Plus she still speaks jibber jabber nonsense. Granted I could understand her most of the time because I have gotten used to the way she says things or she shows me what she wants through actions. For instance if she says she is cold I would hear 'd'old and she would wrap her arms around her body and make a shivering face. If she wants me to 'boove' (move) she would push me.
anyway, I'm sure I am just an over paranoid mother, but I am going to have her tested in the Peoria school district for speech problems.

I'm on the phone

I was putting Trey's bumper pads back on his crib and Emmry was talking on her pretend Dora phone to Boots, Dora and Swiper. She is telling me to be quiet and that she is on the phone. Then she continues to talk, "Hi, Dora......bla bla bla.......Hi, Boots.......bla bla bla." "Mom, I'm on the phone. quiet."
Oh my. I wasn't even saying a word Emmry. Sheesh

Articles of Faith

Tage has been practicing memorizing the Articles of Faith for church. Each Sunday he has a chance to pass one off with a member of the Primary presidency. Today Tage came to me wanting to listen to see if I got one of them correct. He did. I said good job and then started asking questions about the Articles of Faith. I pretended I was a non-member and knew nothing about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints asking questions like...
What is an ordinance? His response, "something about faith."
Why do you have Article of Faiths? "Because that's what we believe"
Who came up with these rules? "Prophets"
My favorite statement was when I asked him what he was going to do if someone really wasn't a member of our church and was asking him a lot of questions. His response made me laugh out loud. "I don't know. I'm just memorizing them so I can pass them off and get candy."
Hahahaha.
Well, hopefully one of these days he will want to understand them better instead of just putting a check mark beside them saying he's memorized it.
