Doggie Store

Sept. 25
Well if taking my little munchkins to the zoo wasn't enough, we went to the 'doggie store' too!
Cha-ching! Winner! Best Mom award goes to me!
Okay, Im done with the self inflicted ego boost.
I wanted to go to the Apple store in the mall to check out laptops so I made a deal with the kids that if they were good we would go to the 'doggie store' after I was done. I'm pretty sure Trey didnt understand the agreement, but I know Emmry did. She was decent. Trey was a monster. But I took them to the 'doggie store' anyway.
(pic)
I couldnt help but sing this song when I watched Trey.

"How much is that doggie in the window?
The one with the waggly tail
How much is that doggie in the window?
I do hope that doggie is for sale!"

Wild Life World Zoo

Sept 25
I got discount tickets to the Wild Life World Zoo. So the little kids and I took a trip with our best friends Patsy and Bailey!
The kids loved it. Especially the petting zoo.
I didn't plan on having lunch there, but time went by so fast I  knew I should take time for lunch before I put the kids in the car just to have them (hopefully) fall asleep on the way home.
What a fun day it was!

Our Anniversary

Sept. 25
Happy anniversary to my love. 7 years through the good and the bad.
I love you.
(Wedding pic)

I feel bad that I didn't do anything for tyson especially when he told me that I could go buy a laptop (!!!!) (hello Mac here I come....!!!)
Hands down, I have the best hubby ever :)

Space to dance

Sept. 24
Today's late afternoon was a little rough for me. Everyone was a bit grumpy. So to livein up the mood I put in the CD from music makers and started dancing. And guess what?! It worked! Emmry even helped me push the couches back to make more room just like we did the other day for music makers.
Happy dancing kiddos!
(Pic)

Painting buddies

Sept. 24
Emmry and her cute best friend, Bailey are doing some serious painting while Baileys Mom, Patdy and I are working on a Halloween craft.
I'm so happy Emmry has such a cute and sweet friend as Bailey.
(Pic)

3 year old tantrums

Sept 24
Emmry's tantrums have been bad lately. Bad enough I had to start locking her in her room when she starts hitting, kicking and biting. Sad thing is is that girl is so smart it didn't take her long to figure out how to UNlock the bedroom door to get out. Now locking her in isn't working anymore. I might have to flip the lock to the outside of her door.
(Pic Emmry crying)

Fashion panties

Sept. 23
Emmry really wanted to wear her Rainbow Dash pony panties to bed so I put them over top her night time panties (that's what we call her pull-ups). She didn't like that's because she couldn't SEE Rainbow Dash. So she was happy when I put her panties over top her jammie pants.
(Pic)
I didn't know that bedtime could have quite the fashion show! Oh boy do I love my spunky girl to death.

Rebels

Sept 20
Tage switched football teams and is now playing for Arizona Youth Sports League (AYSL) instead of Pop Warner.
So now he plays for the REBELS. His first game was today and he did AWESOME! He made 5 (!!!) touchdowns and then after each touchdown he did a field goal which he made 3 out of the 5. I saw some great blocks and awesome tackles. He was rockin' out there!
I have to admit, unlike AirXpress this game was a lot funner to watch. I guess it's always funner when your son is one of the star players. Hahaha. Although I did feel the game was too long. 2 1/2 hours is a bit much for me. It isn't the NFL people! Seeing that we were crushing the other team I wish they would have just called it game. Oh well.
Final score:
Rebels: 42
Falcons: 0

A REAL baby doll

Sept 20
I watched a friends 2 little kids this afternoon. Emmry thought that the baby was the cutest and best baby doll ever and was in poor Annie's face the whole time. Trey was very curious about her and I had to watch him so he wouldn't grab or pull on her out of interest.
(Pic)

Play doh

Sept. 20
Play-doh is my least favorite activity to do. It makes such a mess when it dries out and gets all crumbly. I pretty much don't allow it in the house and therefore it becomes a winter activity because we can do it outside.
Well Emmry got some play doh from a friend for her birthday and she wanted to play with it so I busted it out and allowed her to play with it up to the table.
Yes, it was messy. I really think I should rethink my thoughts and feelings about this stuff. She loves it so much I should probably allow it more often. It's a good thing winter is approaching, I'm sure she will be playing with this stuff all the time.

Music Makers

Sept. 19
Last week I was talking to my visiting teaching companion, Susan, about music makers. Music makers is about 45 minutes of singing fun songs, dancing around and having story time. The children LOVE it! Susan and another lady did it last year and I was wondering if they were going to do it again this school year. Well it turns out the other lady wasn't planning on doing it this year because her little one is now in kindergarten. I could tell that Susan still wanted to do music makers, but didn't want to do it by herself so I volunteered to do it with her. Seeing that it is only every other week, I'm actually only having it at my house once a month. (Although I am the 'leader' every time) That's not bad at all! I'm actually really excited about it! Emmry loves it and I know this year Trey is going to get more into it and love it too.
So here is our first music makers class of the year at our house!
(Pics)

Pink out day

Sept. 19
Instead of a black out day, Emmry decided a pink out day would be better. I actually agree with her. The color pink is a much more friendly and welcoming color than black.
So, good choice Emmry. Good choice.

Having dinner with the missionaries

Sept. 19
In our ward they started assigning ward members to feed the missionaries (not sure why). Tonight was our turn.
I had asked the missionaries what their favorite home cooked meal was. Elder Madsen (he's from Kansas) likes something called cheesy baked chicken his mom makes and Elder Dunn (from Colorado) loves shepherds pie.
I ended up getting the recipe for the baked chicken and made that for tonight's dinner along with scalloped cheesy potatoes and homemade rolls. Everything looked delicious (and if you asked me it tasted just as good as it looked)
4:15pm rolled around and I still hadn't heard from Ty. Dinner was at 5:00pm and I was getting nervous tyson wasn't going to make it home on time.
Sure enough, 4:45pm Ty calls and says he's still downtown. It takes around 45minutes to drive home depending on traffic. Obviously he wasn't going to make it.
I called the missionaries and told them just to come get a plate of food and take it back to their house since they couldn't come in and stay without tyson here. I apologized repeatedly and told them we would have them over another time. (Let's look on the bright side......good thing they live in my backyard! Hahahaha)
So there you have it. NOT having dinner with the missionaries.

Birthday Cake

Sept 18
There was no question as to what cake I was going to make Emmry.
Rainbow Dash.
She's obsessed. Seriously obsessed.
I can't say it looks absolutely fantastic, but Emmry could at least tell what it was. I'm pretty sure she loved it.
(Pic)

Grizzly Bear/Teddy Bear

Sept 18
Bedtime came and Emmry was a bear. A mean old grizzly bear. I think the constant go go go day along with the excitement made her an over tired little girl. For the first time ever I LOCKED her (yes, that's right. Locked her) in her room because she was hitting, kicking, screaming, biting just being down right mean. Finally she calmed down long enough for me to hold her and sing her a couple bedtime songs. I put her in her bed and she passed out within seconds. She was a super duper tired birthday girl!
Then there was Trey. I felt like I neglected my sweet Trey all day amongst the craziness.
I tried to put him to bed shortly after 8:00pm as I did Emmry, but he was not going for that. So instead of having him cry like crazy I got him out and had some one on one time with my boy. It was the best. We both NEEDED that time together. He was being such a cute cuddly teddy bear. I loved every minute of it. 9:00pm rolled around and I laid him down with no problem. Like I said, I believe we needed that extra time for each other tonight.

She's THREE!

Sept 18
Oh my goodness, oh my goodness. My baby girl is three!
From morning till night, today was for sure an all about Emmry day.
She had waffles (really pancakes. She just calls them waffles for some reason) for breakfast. Sadly lunch got lost among my crazy morning trying to get ready for the party. I know she had animal crackers, dry fruit loops, and V8 fusion juice. Not exactly a well balanced lunch but it's gotta count for something right?! Or maybe you could just call the cake and ice cream her lunch. Dinner didn't get much better either.....cheese pizza. Boy, I'm a winner of a mom today!
Highlights at her party:
Pin the tail on pinkie pie.
Pony tattoos
Opening presents from friends and getting lots and lots of fun things!
Rainbow Dash cake
Getting a new bike and all 6 famous my little pony figurines from mom and dad.

What a blast of a day for my little Miss America!
Oh I love her soooooo much!!!!

Loud TV

Sept 28
This just now....
Me: Tage, for the hundredth time, PLEASE turn down the TV!
Tage: but I can't hear! My ears are all clogged, I need to clean them out.

Crusin'

Sept. 17
Trey can really book it around with this little walker.
(Pic)
He also likes to push around his little red coupe. In fact he prefers to push it rather than be in it.
(Pic)
He moves around pretty quickly when he is holding onto something and he likes to hold my hands. Yes, I said handS.  I try to have him hold just one hand but he stands still and would whine until I give him my other hand then practically takes off running.
He has stood alone for only one second or so before he starts to freak out and then sits down. Not yet has he even tried to take a step on his own.

Cooler cooling off

Sept. 17
I'm trying not to complain, but September is my least favorite month here in Arizona. It is cooling off and feeling more like fall temperatures everywhere else (specifically Utah) and we are still reaching the 100* temperatures here. Ugh.
Even the kids find water wherever possible to cool off.
(Pic)

Piñata decorating

Sept 17
Who's dumb idea was this anyway?!
Oh yeah, that's right....It was mine.
Well boo on me. This stinks.
(Pic)
I know the pic shows Emmry decorating the piñata, but really it was all me. She probably help put a total of 3 papers on.
I hope she enjoys this thing, cuz Im never making a birthday piñata again. Never.
AFTER I started making the piñata I read somewhere thats it's easier to just get regular balloons, put candy in them and then blow them up and hang them on a string so each child could pop their own balloon. Plus othey would all get the same amount of candy and not cause potential drama

Party Piñata Making

Sept. 16
Make a piñata?! Why not?! It can't be that hard.
Let the party begin.
(Pic)
Love my 2 'helpers'. My little mess makers. I ended up putting the kids in the tub half way through because they were covered in that paper mesha stuff and I needed to control them from getting it everywhere.
But now it's outside to dry and we will decorate it tomorrow!

'E' for me

Sept.16
Look, Mom! "E " for me!!!!
(Pic)
Good job Emmry!!
She now will say her name (instead of calling herself 'me') and write the first letter of her name!
Big accomplishments are happening around here with this little/big girl! Big, big stuff! I love watching her learn and grow.

Naked morning walk

Sept 16
Well not completely naked, but pretty darn close. And because they were 'naked' we really didn't go for a 'walk', we more or less just played on the front porch. But at least the morning part is a true statement.
( pic)

Jar of gold

Sept. 15
Emmry helped me make raspberry jam today.
(Pic)
I like to call it gold because raspberries are expensive to buy (although I did get these ones on sale for 99 cent/ 6oz. container.) and because I love it so much. I know this doesn't make sense, but let's just call it 'red gold jam', okay?! Okay.
I think tomorrow I should make some homemade bread. Oooohhhh that sounds scrumptious right now!

Friday night paint date

Sept. 14
This is what Ty and I like to do on a date.
( paint process pic)
Paint.
Tyson invited a couple of his out-of-state friends to come and stay with us this weekend. (Coming tomorrow) So I guess we otta have a place for guests to sleep huh?!
Last night we made a late night date night of painting happen. And today we searched for a used bed (not mattress of course. Gross) We ended up finding a perfect fitting bed at Goodwill this afternoon.
I want to get a small table for the corner and make curtains. Then I think the guest room will be complete. Simple. A place to rest ones weary head. That's all guest rooms are for right?!
(Completed room pic)

Party City Package!

Sept 13
Emmry's party supply package came today!
Boy oh boy are we getting ready to par-tae!
...she is sooooo excited to turn 3!
(Pic)

Reflect 9/11

Sept.11
Oh how I just love this picture I found on the internet today.....
(Pic)
It really does make me reflect what happened 12 years ago.
And because of that, here is how we reflect today.....
It's a red white and blue day for everyone!

Freckles and an Engine Master

Sept. 10
We went to the library this morning and Emmry was looking into these crazy mirrors and said, "a bye a circles a me" translated meaning she is saying that she has freckles like Tage.
Ahhh so cute she recognizes the little things. I think that they are super cute too!
)picture)
Trey loves the library but to be more specific he really just likes to hang out at the train table the whole time.(pic)

My little party

Invitations to Emmry's ' my little party' have been delivered!!
(Pic of invite)

Moving truck

Sept. 10
I know that this is going to sound completely rude. But I'm going to say it anyway....I am SO happy to see that truck in their driveway!
(Picture)
It is going to be so nice to be able to walk outside my front door and not see a bright red and yellow truck I that driveway!
If you couldn't tell already, we weren't so fond of our neighbors. It really started a month after they moved in when they started building their block wall.
Long story short they started building a block wall around their back property. They put up the wall on the property line without our consent and then once the wall was done told us that we owed them money. After Tyson brushing them off a few times the topic seemed to be dropped. Fast forwarding they put their home up for sale. A month ago they told Ty that they would like to get things situated with the wall before they move. Then 2 weeks ago they presented us with a written invoice stating we owe them $4,000. Ok, I said this was the short story. Bottom line is that after we contacted a lawyer and that got us nowhere tyson just paid the dang neighbors $4,000 and looked at it in a way that we were paying them to move.
Thank goodness they are leaving. For the past year I have felt so uncomfortable walking outside in chance that he was going to ask about money or get mad about something to do with Tage and his son. (One time he came over and cussed at me because his son got hurt when Tage and him were playing football in,his yard. It was his own sons dang fault that he wanted to play Taclke football with a bigger kid! Sheesh.)
I just think his is a shady guy and his girlfriend is just as bad.
I hope a nice family moves in!!

Rigby Pond

Sept. 9
Usually when it rains it pours here. And because the ground is so hard all the rain causes flooding.
It rained so much this morning that I felt like we had a little pond in our front yard.
(Picture)

Dino Pajamas

Sept. 7
Oh I just love one piece jammies on my babies. They look so snugly, comfy, and cute in them. I especially love these Dino ones I picked up at Ross last night. I seriously think I could climb in the crib with him and cuddle him all night.

Rainbow Dash

Look Mom, me Rainbow Dash shirt.

She's 3!!!!!
My baby girl turned 3. She is such a DIVA girl but I absolutely love her to death.
She is obsessed with My Little Pony so we had a my little party party with a few friends. She was in heaven! Loved every minute of it and then some.
We played pin the tail on pinkie pie, received my little pony tattoos, had a piñata that was kid proof so I had swing the vacuum hose to bust it open, opened so many wonderful gifts she absolutely loved from so many awesome friends, and devoured cake and ice cream. I think if I were to say she had a blast; that would be an understatement. I'm pretty sure she enjoyed every stinkin' minute of it.

20 days

It's already been 20 days since I have journaled. Sheesh. Time flies. I have some major. Catching up to do!

Sleeping Opposites

I find it quite funny how Emmry and Trey like to sleep.
Emmry's has always liked a blanket up against her face and me softly running my fingers back and forth on her forehead and cheek. Trey is the complete opposite. He has never liked anything touching his face. Not even my hand. He doesn't like to sleep with any blankets whereas Emmry wants to be completely covered under one. Emmry likes to cuddle to go to sleep, Trey doesn't. They are two completely opposite sleepers. But I love them both the complete same.
(Pictures)

It's FRIDAY!

The little kids and I met my friend Patsy and her daughter at the Vistancia pool yesterday. We enjoyed an afternoon of swimming and splashing around!
(Picture)
Neither Emmry or Trey fell asleep on the ride home like I thought they would so we got a snack and just played in the play room for a bit. Then it got close to 4pm which has been the time Trey likes to have an afternoon cat nap. Emmry was getting mean and hitting me so I put her in time out and told her to stay on the black chair while I put Trey down for a nap. Of course she didn't stay on the chair and I heard her go into her room, but after I laid Trey down and went into check on her she was buried under her blanket totally asleep.
(Picture)
I thought she for sure would be up in about 1-2 hours, but oh no, she slept ALL NIGHT long! I say all night, but not really. She came into my room and I let her crawl into bed with me around 3:30am, but then went back to sleep until 6:15am. So it was kinda sorta maybe considered 'all night' hahahaha.  But I even went in around 7pm to get her dressed for bed and put a pull-up on her and she went right back to sleep!) Either I ought to make the pool a daily outing or that girl needed to catch up on some serious sleep time!
(Picture)

AirXpress Game 2

Game 2 was better than last week. They played The Jets which was said to be one of the hardest teams in their division. Tage did good and I saw some good blocks and tackles. I feel like the coaches yell at the boys too much and are super hard on them. They are just kids for crying out loud! I guess this gears them up for NFL at a young age. I get the impression that Tage doesn't want to play on this team. I'm not sure though. Oddly enough another one of Tage's past coaches contacted Tyson today wanting Tage to come play on their team. (NYS division I think) anyway, Tyson is considering it. I'm not sure how I feel about it because 1) to me that's like saying. "I don't like this team, I'm just gonna quit" and 2) we already spend around $400 into this team and if we move to another team we are going to have to spend more money getting him geared up for that team. (I seriously don't understand why they have to have custom clothing and helmets. It's a waste of money if you ask me....but nobody is, so I will just keep my mouth shut.)
Back to today's game.
Finals score
Jets: 28
AirXpress: 14

Breakfast outside

We started off our morning right....with breakfast in the playhouse! Or as Emmry would say, "in me house"
Since we are usually outside at the crack of dawn playing, I always have to convince the kids to go inside for breakfast. Well, this morning I thought we would change things up a bit and have breakfast outside!
(Picture)
It's always the little things right?! I keep telling myself that. Most simple things in life are the most memorable and most precious.

Big Brother/Little Sister

Ahhhh, just playing nicely together.
(Picture)
Usually they are teasing each other unless they are watching a movie, so this is always a pleasant sight to see when they are getting along.
