Halloween

Halloween? What's that? We were pretty boring around here this year.

1. We ended up not going to our wards trunk-or-treat because of how cranky all the kids (cranky kids = super cranky mom).
2.  Ty and I were invited to an adult party but Ty was being a bum and didn't want to go so we all went out to dinner instead....with the kids so I wouldn't call that a date.
3.  We didn't even buy one pumpkin.
4.  Didn't go to a pumpkin patch or corn maze.
5.  I didn't make any homemade chili.
6.  Sheesh, I didn't even take one picture on Halloween! The picture of Tage is from Tyson's phone and I convinced Emmry to put her costume on the next day just so I would have a picture of her. Oh, and Trey....his was taken on November 7. Go me for being on top of it this year!

But hey, at least I can say that the kids dressed up for a whoppin' 2 hours on Halloween night and got lots of candy for me to eat. So there. We aren't that boring of parents......we didn't deprive them of everything this Halloween.

Sunday Best

Emmry is all dressed in her Sunday best! Off to church we go!

Please take note of the following: A: her binks; one in the mouth, the other hidden, grasped tight in her right hand for sure. B: the go-gurt. and best of all C: her shoes. She wouldn't wear anything else.
So fine, let's put on your shoes and go to church! When are we ever going to be on time!? Oh, that would be the day!

Yes, she fell asleep as soon as we backed out of the driveway. No, I didn't go to church either. I call it a Mom's free ticket to stay home!

I made the mistake of giving Emmry a graham cracker with chocolate frosting on it after her bath and in her jammies. Oh well.

Emmry likes it when I cover her with pillows. She pretends to hide and when I say, "Where's Emmry, I can't find her anywhere...." she pops up and laughs.

A weekend in Utah

I always dread the drive to Utah. Always. Saturday October 6th was a long, long day. We left our house at 4:50am and pulled into my parents driveway at 5:07pm for a quick hello and then back into the car a bit after 6:00pm headed to Tyson's parents where we were staying.

Emmry kept putting her foot near Trey's face on the drive. Poor kid had a stinky foot in his face practically the whole time.

Sunday was nice to lounge around in the morning and watch General Conference in my jammies. Then I took Emmry and Trey up to my Grandma Judd's house. (Tage was with his other Mom and Ty was just a butt and didn't want to go.....) There we had lunch and watched the second session of Conference. It was nice to be with my grandparents, my aunt and uncle and their kids and of course my parents and brother and sister.

After Conference I went back to Ty's parents to get ready for Trey's blessing. Judy had made a yummy dinner of baked ziti for all the family members. Then we all headed over to Ty's parents church building for the blessing.

The blessing was perfect and the Spirit was strong. I thought that my little man was so handsome. In fact, I teared up when I was getting him dressed. I couldn't help but picture him in the temple with me. All dressed in white. It was one of those moments I will never forget. He looked like he came straight from heaven. An angel. A prefect angel.

Monday, October 8th, was really a low key. In fact, half the day I think I spent in my jammies. I really wanted to go for a hike while I was in Utah and enjoy the weather and fall leaves. Ty didn't want to hike, so we compromised and went on a walk on a trail behind Lagoon. It got me out enjoying the weather so really it satisfied me.

After our little nature walk we dropped Tage off with his other Mom to spend the night. I went to my parents with Emmry and Trey to spend the night and Ty.....um.....I don't know what he did. I think he said he went to Cafe Rio and watched football at his parents house.

Tuesday, October 9th was another long long drive back home.
Whew! And there you have it. Our fast quick trip to Utah.

Ta Ta Ta Two Months Today!

Yep! It's already been two month since this little guy was born! Time sure does fly quickly!



 

 



My little Trey,

 

You are the best baby ever. I love you so so much.

You love to eat every 3-4 hours, even through the night. Although you are getting better at pushing to the 4 hour mark during the night which I like. I still have you sleeping in the Pack n' Play near my bed. I like to have you near me so I can make sure you are ok and stare at you before I go to sleep, and because I don't want to walk across the house to get to your room every few hours (that's probably the more true answer.)

Your a healthy 12 lbs 3 oz! (56%) Big boy!

You don't like to take naps in your Pack n' Play. You only like to sleep in the swing or the boppy. If I put you in the pack n' play, you would wake up within 15 minutes.

You had your first hair cut! You were starting to look like an old man. Bald on top and long on the sides. So I had my friend Brooke trim it all over so it was more even. You look much better now.

You are very alert and aware of what's going on and have great eye coordination! You like to watch the owl mobile I have over your pack n' play.

I love holding you when you are sleeping. You look so peaceful.

You are super gassy and toot alot. It stinks. But it's ok, I still love you. It's probably my fault because I eat alot of dairy products and the Dr. says that dairy can make babies gassy. Sorry bud.

I love you to pieces and I am so happy I'm your Mom. I hope that you will be patient with me. I'm not a pro at this mommy stuff.

Monster Truck Massage

Ever heard of a monster truck massage? Wanna find out how to do it yourself?
**Please note that you must have at least one monster car to do this**

Here's how....
Start at the top of the head pushing down hard enough to make the person fidget

then move down the face as if you were rolling over the rocky mountains

then across the smooth hill (stomach)

Now repeat as many times as you can until the person you are doing this massage too starts to cry at the top of their lungs. Then you know you have successfully given a monster truck massage.

Birth Announcement

I finally got Trey's announcement done.


















I ended up just using a snap shot I took of him. I think it turned out cute though

6 years

Our life together began 6 years ago today. Well, actually on January 11, 2005. But back to the start of my love story.... I would like to say it was love at first site, but it wasn't. I was on my 'dinner only' strike meaning I didn't want to waste my time on the first date to do anything else. Ty was lucky because we were on a double date with my friend who set us up (yes, a blind date) convinced us to go back to her house to play pool. After the date, Ty didn't even give me a hug. I had no feelings that struck me upside the head that he was 'the one'. End of date. End of story. So I thought. We ended up getting together casually on our own the following week. That's really when it all started.

Now fast forwarding our lives together we have had 2 babies together! So 3 crazy kids and a dog, 3 chickens and a rooster! Maybe a horse will be joining our family too....maybe. Any more humans you ask? Well, maybe that too....

So to celebrate our anniversary we dropped Tage off at the church for scouts and took the other 2 kids to Smash Burger. Exciting huh?! Not so much. We are cheap. Why pay a babysitter when we could just lug them around with us on our fancy date night?! My thoughts exactly. And speaking of cheap Ty didn't even get me a gift! But that's ok, I got him one from the dollar store and he shared with me.

Love you Ty. Another 6 years is comin' your way.

Run away time

I ran away and kidnapped my own kids! Ok, not really because I told Tyson I was leaving and told him I would let him know where I ended up at. So technically that's not kidnapping, but the running away part could be true.

Now let's be honest. We are not always the happy family you might think we are. We have arguments, we have fights. We have yelling and slamming of  doors. Heck, Tage has been known to throw rocks at me (the door). But don't worry, nobody got hurt and no were windows broken. We all have different challenges in our marriages and families. One of mine is Tage. Sometimes I feel like giving up on being a step mom. It's hard. Dang hard sometimes. And yesterday I had had enough so I ran away.

I went North to Flagstaff to get out of the heat (74 beautiful, overcast degrees!!!). We had a picnic at Mary's Lake, stopped to see some horses we noticed off the side of the road and played at the park. It was a wonderful day. A much needed escape! And Emmry thoroughly enjoyed the day outside rather than being cooped up indoors because I don't want to hang out in the heat all day.

Good Morning Birthday Girl!!
Breakfast of scrambled eggs and a donut. (well, just the frosting off the donut. She doesn't ever eat the donut part....)

Since Emmry LOVES horses we thought that we would get her a pony for her birthday....

She was a happy, happy girl all day long. Whenever we would say happy birthday to her, she would repeat it with a big smile. I think by the end of the day she realized that happy birthday was a fun word.

She got a some horse figurines and a bunch of littlest pet shop toys. It took awhile for us to get through the presents because whenever she would open one she would take it to Dad to get it out of the package before she would open another present.

















We face timed Grandma and Grandpa's which was fun to have them watch her open their gifts they mailed and watch her dance around.
Grandma Judd gave her coloring books, twistable coloring pencils, and lots of card games (like go fish, and lots of learning cards like ABC's, numbers, colors, shapes....)
Grandma Judy gave her a cute Rapunzel figuring doll and some clothes. She loved the little doll and took it to bed with her! I was surprised she didn't pick her horses to sleep with.


















Then ended the day with fun baffy time!
