Sisters. Daughters. Friends.

My sister Jennifer's daughter, Emma, is 9 months older than Emmry. They are so cute together. I hope that they will grow up to be best friends. I hope they are enjoyed their time together since Emma just moved from Iowa to Idaho and we live in Arizona. They are known as "the girls" around the Judd house. I love it. I just wish we lived closer to each other!

It has been such a fun month to see these two sweet girls together. I'm sad we will be leaving tomorrow. I just hope that they will grow up being the best of friends!

Apricots

Today my Mom and I canned apricots, made apricot jam, and apricot butter. Yumm-o!

I'm glad my Mom has taught me how to do these kind of things. I love having fresh homemade jam! With my Mom's homemade bread.....even better! My mouth is salivating even thinking about it.

Little Entrepreneur's

Wes, Shel and Tage decided that they wanted to make a little extra money and since it was so hot they decided to do an ice cream sale!
Great idea guys!

My Mom and I tried to teach them that doing something like this cost money to start out with buying all the supplies so they would have to pay us back for some of the supplies (total cost $11). They agreed to it. We also told them that doing something like this was all about setting up business in the right place. Location. Location. Location. So we decided to go to a neighbors house down the road where there was more kids in the neighborhood and a bit more traffic flow. And it worked! They got a fair amount of success just by being out there for about an hour and a half! Grand total: $6.50! $2.50 went to my Mom for supplies and then they each went away with $1.50. Not too bad!

The Cabin

It's tradition. Every year over the 24th of July holiday we go to the cabin in Fairview, Utah. Tyson grew up doing this and now we will continue it with our children growing up doing it.

Kids Rodeo

Tage and Bridger scoping out what they want to catch.

Cute Aiden

Waiting for the rodeo to start

Tage said next year he wants to ride the calf and not the sheep because the sheep would be too easy. (He has never been in the kids rodeo before. We'll see if he holds true to his word next year....)

Tage loved being with his cousins Gavin and Bridger.

Emmry loved all the animals. Especially the horses.

The line up of the little kids ready to go after the money goat. (They have dollar bills taped to an animal. The older kids had there money taped to a calf)

Friday, July 22
Playing with all the animals that were caught last night at the kids rodeo.

3 rabbits. 1 duck.

Bridger caught the greased pig (second year in a row) but he had to tell them he couldn't keep it so they probably just gave it away.

Horse Parade

One happy, happy child! She LOVES horses!

Emmry LOVED the 4-wheel rides. When you would stop and get off she would turn around and reach for it and whine. The minute you would get back on she would smile and kick her feet and be so excited. Spoiled little girl!

If an adult was caught getting on the 4-wheelers, there was imediately at least 5 kids around it asking for a ride. The 4-wheel rides are always a hit at the cabin!
Saturday, July 23
Waiting for the parade to start.

Some people had their puppies for sale near where we were sitting. It definitely entertained the kids and had them all begging the parents if they could buy one.

Emmry's first horseback ride with Grandpa Gary. She loved it!

Demolition Derby

I didn't know how Emmry would do with all the noise. But she seemed to enjoy it! We did stick a piece of a baby wipe in her ears (mine too) and I think that helped.

Towards the end she was cranky and tired. I spend alot of time off the stands and walking around to keep her happy. She finally fell asleep! I'm sure it was just a crazy day for her and she was on overload and beyond tired. Poor girl.

On the way out of the fairgrounds I fell on the asphalt with Emmry asleep in my arms. I was holding her in my left arm and fell down HARD on my elbow. I don't think she hit her head very hard if any. I think that it just scared her really bad by waking up that way. And then I think she was frustrated that I wouldn't let her go back to sleep and was bugging her. She probably was just more annoyed at me looking in her eyes with a flashlight to see if they were dilating and looking at her head like a monkey to see if there was any swelling. I gave her Tylenol when we got back to the cabin and Tysons sister Rachelle (who is a nurse) said that she seemed to be ok. Tyson and I took Emmry for a 4-wheel ride to get her calmed down and just to see how she reacted to things. She seemed fine and was all excited to see the horses. I am so grateful for Tyson who holds and honors the priesthood because he gave Emmry a fathers blessing. It was perfect. Just what she and I both needed. Thank you sweetheart. I love you.

We kept Emmry up for a couple hours and she moving around and acting just fine. I know she was watched over and blessed by sweet angels, particularly my Grandpa Baird who passed away just over 2 years ago. I love you Grandpa!

Sunday, July 24th

We left the cabin by 10am because Tyson had to make his flight back home that afternoon. Tage ended up staying with Grandma and Grandpa Rigby who came home later that night. I got all cleaned up and went to Sacrament meeting with my family and then hung out the rest of the day with my family.

New Car!

Emmry got her first car today!

Her cousin Ava gave Emmry her old push car. The look on Emmry's face was priceless when I put her on it. Seriously priceless!

She is good at going backwards but can't figure out how to put the car into drive and needs to learn to look behind her when she is reversing so she doesn't run into things. Funny thing is she learned to army crawl backwards before she learned to army crawl forwards. Must just be easier for them backwards.

So watch out, here she comes!

First Crawl!

Emmry crawled for the first time today! We were at her Great-Grandma Donna's house. It was hot so I took off her little dress to cool off for a bit and she must have not liked the feeling of grass on her little tummy so she crawled a couple small crawls before giving up. But she did it! A day before her 10 month birthday! Oh my, she is growing up too fast!

(Unfortunately today's pictures accidentally got erased. I'm so sad. So I don't have a picture of her today on this big moment. But I still wanted to document that it happened today!)

Sulphur Campground

Day 1. Wednesday, July 13

Tage, Emmry and I met my parents, Wes and Shel in the Uintas at Sulphur Campground (they went up one day earlier). It was so pretty and so fun to get away for a couple days. It rained a lot the first day so we stayed in the trailer playing games most of the time. Our favorite games this trip were Ticket to Ride, ImaginIIf, and Yatzee Free For All. So fun! I LOVE games! Tyson is not much of a game player, so when I come to visit my family they all know that I am willing to play, play, play!!

Dad re-read his Harry Potter book because he wanted to go see the latest movie that came out.

(I have no idea what volume of Harry Potter is was or even what movie he was talking about. I am not into all that sci-fi stuff)

Day 2. Thursday, July 14

Hiking day!

We did a short 3 mile round trip hike to Lilly Lake. It was UP the whole way, but made it nice on the way back! There was not a cloud in the sky that day. The weather couldn't have been nicer. A slight cool breeze and beautiful surroundings. It was perfect!

Emmry was sharing her graham cracker....

Mom and Dad (Nana and Papa)

Michelle, Tage and Wesley at Lilly lake

Day 3. Friday, July 15
We just hung out back and forth between Sulphur Creek and the campground (we camped right next to it)

Poor Shel got attacked by a mosquito right next to her eye yesterday. It was swollen shut this morning. Poor girl! Those darn bugs loved her sweet blood. She is a very sweet girl, but come on mosquitoes, give her a break!!
We had boat races down the creek. Our boats were pretty creative! Pine cones, twigs, leaves and a little imagination is all it took!

Then we said goodbye to everyone and headed home (they all stayed one more night) so Tage could spend the weekend with his other Mom. On the Mirror Lake Highway home we ran into a little road block. Sheep! Emmry was sleeping, but Tage thought that it was cool to see that many sheep!
