Brad Paisley!

A few months ago I got an e-mail from Zion's Bank saying if you opened up a new account, you could get tickets to a show at Usana this summer. One of the shows they were offering was Brad Paisley and we did need to open a new savings account, so I thought this would be a perfect Anniversary present for Tyson.

The concert was on Friday and I spent all morning getting ready! I took the Jeep to the carwash and while I was vacuuming out the inside, I noticed all these guys that were doing the same. It was like they were all getting ready for their hot dates. So I got kind of excited thinking that I had a hot date too, because we really haven't gone out like this for a while. When I got home I wiped down the whole interior and even cleaned the carpets of the Jeep! I could have just quit there because I felt like I had made a huge accomplishment! Then I put Easton to bed and actually got myself ready for once! I dropped Easton off at my mom's and met up with Tyson. We were so excited for our date! We met up with our friends Jordan and Corinna for dinner at Texas Roadhouse. It was DELICIOUS as usual! I could eat a million of their rolls. Then we car pooled out to Usana.

Jordan and Corinna
Amanda and Thomas met us there when they finally got through the terrible traffic! We were there way too early though so they didn't miss a thing!
Besides Justin Moore and Darius Rucker, we also got to experience this wonderful opening act that was performed on the railing 5 feet in front of us.
That was the beginning of my bad experience! I guess I haven't really been to a concert since I was 8 and my parents took me to Faith Hill. I knew there was going to be alcohol, but I was COMPLETELY unprepared for what I saw! People are out of control! Drunk people came crashing down into us when their crowd surfing didn't work out and people were spilling their overlflowing $8 cans of beer everywhere! I really hated every second of it! The people around us were smoking the entire time and Tyson kept having to take me for walks to get me out of it. I had to try not to cry the whole time because all I could think about was the fact that these are someone's babies acting this way and passing out all over the place!!!

I started having some major anxiety about my children's futures. (I know I'm a pregnant emotional wreck.) I needed someone to tell me that there was still good in the world! Thank heavens for the General Relief Society meeting the next day. My mom came down to go to our stake dinner and broadcast with us. We had a good time and heard some great messages. I felt much better after that.
While we went to the conference the boys went to the BYU game. (Tyson was really happier than he looks:)
Another fun filled weekend! Looking forward to conference weekend so we can just relax!

Wrong Again!

So I've been 100% convinced that both of my babies were girls! Wrong again! We're happy to announce that Easton will be getting a new baby BROTHER!

It was so fun for all of us to see baby Callan at the ultrasound. He is a wiggler! The whole time he was scrunching up in a ball and then stretching his arms and legs out as far as he could back and forth. It was so cute. And so weird to see this apple sized bunch of cells looking like a real live human! We were able to count all his fingers and saw him swallowing amniotic fluid. He moved around so much that we couldn't even listen to his heart beat! (I would have been a little concerned, but we could see his heart beating on the screen.)

We couldn't be more excited!

I'm a Little Baby!

Easton has been wanting to be a baby again lately. It breaks my heart when he doesn't want to grow up! A week ago, he had a really bad day with the potty training. He peed his pants five times and every time I got him out of the bath and wrapped him in his towel he cried and said, "mom hold me! I'm a little baby!" So of course I held him pretty much all day and did whatever he wanted. But by the end of the night Tyson and I were getting pretty tired of him being so spoiled and demanding (my fault I know). He refused to eat his dinner so we made him go sit in his crib with no binks. That usually causes a huge tantrum, but this time he was totally silent. Tyson and I finished eating, cleaned up dinner, and did the dishes all in silence.
Tyson went to check on Easton and realized he had forgotten to take down Easton's basketball hoop that hangs on his crib. Easton had stuffed all six of his stuffed animals into his tiny hoop! And it had kept him entertained for a long time! He never did eat his dinner.

The rest of the week went much better. He had two days where he was completely dry. His favorite undies are his football undies. One day while he was wearing them he got his football and climbed up on the table to reach my hat that was hanging up on the wall. He came running down the hall yelling to me about his helmet and how he's a BYU "tooger."
Yesterday afternoon he wanted to wear a diaper and was pulling the "I'm a little baby" card again. So we let him wear pull-ups all day. When it was time to go to bed we fought with him for over an hour. He cried and begged to sleep in mom and dad's bed. Tyson finally brought him in and told him he could lay with us for a minute. Tyson started explaining to him that when the new baby is born it will sleep in Easton's crib and Easton will get a new big bed like mom and dad's. He did not like that at all! He started begging for his crib! I think he didn't want the baby to take it. He said, "Eason crib nite nite." So we put him in there and he was out like a light.

I guess I should enjoy my "little baby" as long as I can!

Annual Eastridge Band Party

Every year in my old ward in Sandy, my dad and some friends put together a band and do a great job providing entertainment for the neighborhood party.
The best part is meeting up with old friends.

Easton was a dancing fool.

And a crowd pleaser as usual.
I participated in my one and only dance, the boot scootin boogie.
We had a lot of fun! Also, have I mentioned Easton is so funny? He cracks us up all the time. I wanted to write some funny things he's said lately.

He is obsessed with the numbers 5 and 6. Any question you ask him that begins with "how many" he answers with, "five six five."

When he's on the potty and I ask, "Did you go?" He often says, "No, it's hard."

The other day I was bothering him with something like trying to get him to clean his room or something and he said, "mom, enough!"

Today he found a piece of PVC pipe and I asked him if it was his sword. He said yes and I said, "Do you remember the book we read in church today about the Anti-Nephi-Lehis who put all their swords in a hole and covered them with ..."

"MAC!"

Long Weekend!

We had such a fun weekend! Friday night we didn't do anything. I had to work for Kelsey so she could go to Idaho with my family, I know I'm so kind. But I ended up only being there for 2 hours because the traffic in Utah county is INSANE! It took me an hour to get from Orem to Spanish Fork. Anyway, Saturday we went boating with Tyson's family to Strawberry Reservoir. We only boated from about nine to noon because we had to leave so Tyson could photograph a wedding that night. It was one of the best boating trips though because the weather was beautiful and I decided Easton is at just the right age for boating. We just sat and relaxed and I didn't have to worry about whether he was too hot, too cold, thirsty, hungry, etc... because he could just tell me! He just sat there for most of the time and enjoyed looking out into the water. I usually don't consider boating trips relaxing, but this one was.
When we got home Tyson showered and took off for Sugarhouse park for the wedding. Lets just say he was wearing a white shirt and dress pants and was better dressed than the groom:) He did a great job with the pictures.

While he was gone, Easton and I got to go to the BYU game with my dad. I didn't even take any pictures! I don't know, but maybe it was the 95 degree weather, hiking up and down stairs 3 months pregnant and carrying 30 pounds. We spent most of the game searching for shade, or a fan, or an open drinking fountain. Not sure Easton is ready for full game status. It may be another season of half games. But we had fun.

Sunday we went to church, came home and fought with Easton for hours trying to get him to nap. He's not a big fan of naps lately. It was a really long day at home so by the end of the night we had sort of had it. There was a major wind storm outside so we took Easton out on the lawn to fly his duck kite. It snapped in half in its first flight. After extensive tape repairs, we could only get it to stay in the air for a few seconds. Easton thought it was fun.

Monday morning when I brought Easton into our bed around 5 he said, "Dad home! A not a work!" Funny how he could tell the difference between a weekend and a weekday. We slept in a little, did some cleaning and headed down to Payson for the annual lunch at Grandma Page's. Lunch was DELICIOUS, but that might just be because food is finally starting to taste good again! After lunch we took Easton to Onion Days. It was pretty much the same as other years.

We walked around the booths and spent too much.
We paid for a bunch of tickets so Easton could go on rides and found four left over in our pockets when we got home.
Easton missed his nap so he was a wild child the rest of the day. The cotton candy and coke didn't help I'm sure.

Definitely a fun weekend!

Potty Time

I've been trying to start Easton out on the potty training thing. I realize it is a little early, he's still only one, but he does pretty well with it! He has some bad days and some good days. I just try not to push it and let him do it on his own time. Recently he has started acting really silly on the potty and trying to put on a show. Hiding in the shower curtain, singing loud and ridiculous songs so I can't talk to him, etc... (Of course I took a picture to encourage the behavior.)
So I thought maybe I'd just try stepping out and leaving him in there alone so he can focus. It worked like a charm today! I guess I'm sort of bribing him because he has quite the variety of treats that he gets. He gets 2 skittles (which he thinks is 5) and a smiley face sticker when he goes. He likes to put his stickers on his tummy and follows me around for the next 10 minutes going, "mom! Wook, my dummy!" I also have a basket of $1 things I picked up from Target that he gets to choose out of when he poops. I can't believe I just typed that word. This is what boys do to you. Here's Easton displaying all his loot. He chose tiger sunglasses out of the basket this morning and is showing me his skittles in his hands.

Grandma Page bought him these cute pull-ups. There is a rocket on them that disappears when they're wet so I'm constantly asking him if he still has his rocket. Also, he's sort of a germ-o-phobe. I'm sure I did that to him. So he loves to use hand sanitizer after he's done and wave his hands around to dry them off. He says, "I kill da derms and fwy wike a bird." He's so much fun!

A Strange Thing About Pregnancy

So I'm driving along in a traffic jam on 13th East in Sandy heading south on a small road right after those huge bushes on 106th. I was in the right lane and there was a cop behind me. I was on the phone with Tyson telling him I was stuck in traffic and this cop was coming way too close to my car. I looked to my right and saw someone from my ward in Sandy, Curt Weaver, (who I didn't know was a cop) radaring off the side of the road. The cop behind me was driving like a maniac and came so close to my jeep that I almost rammed into the car ahead of me so I slammed on my brakes and the cop started honking and freaking out at me. I thought I saw him reach for a gun! So I threw my hands up and got out of the car. At which point he smashed into the back of my jeep. He was an idiot. He had called for back up (even though Curt was right there) so when I got out of the car I was surrounded by three cops yelling at me and one pointing a gun. The cop that was behind me asked why I put my car in reverse and tried to smash into him. Excuse me? I tried to smash into you?

I was outraged. I started really laying into those idiots. Why would I put my car in reverse on a jam packed, busy road? Why would I do it with a car centimeters away from my bumper? Oh and for the record, I haven't had a traffic violation in almost FIVE years! We had a heated conversation for about 10 minutes and I begged "Officer Weaver" to stop being such a baby and stand up for me because he saw exactly what happened.

The back-up officer jumped in before Curt could say anything and explained to me that they were "dental officers" which meant they made you do your time in dental work. ie: root canals, extra cleanings, pulling un-necessary teeth, etc...

I've never been so upset in my life.

As they were starting to put me in hand cuffs I threw a huge fit, the kind you see on Cops or truTV. I was kicking and screaming that I did not have time for dental work. Just then, I realized that there is a brake light out on the jeep!!! When I slammed on my brakes, the officer was only looking at one side and saw the white brake light but not the red one! I tried to explain it to them, but they weren't listening.

It was the very most frustrating DREAM I've ever had in my life! Which is why I've been awake for well over an hour and have now resorted to playing this mean trick on people and eating golden puffs on the couch at 4:30 in the morning.

You should hear the dream I had yesterday about my return to ballet class. I bet that was a site to see.

I'm telling you, this baby inside is a GIRL and she's DRAMATIC. Watch out world.
