Yesterday, I also had to have blood drawn for annual blood tests.
This blog shows a bit of life in my world. It is a place to put down my thoughts and feelings and communicate with family and/or friends. If you stop by, leave a message so I know you were here!
I had to go in to the Women's Center today for a Mammogram and Ultrasound. It was a year ago that they found the pin head size mass in my right breast. After the mammogram, they took the images to the radiologist to look over. When the technician came back, she said that there had been no change and that I was considered stable. I would not have to have the ultrasound and would be put back on a yearly checkup schedule rather than 6 months! I am so excited to hear that. It is such a huge relief.
I drove to Monroe on the 15th to spend time with the Dimick family (Mom & Dad). I was able to stay to the 26th so I had a very nice visit with them.
Monroe City puts on a big celebration for the 24th July each year. We went to the dinner at the park the evening of the 23rd. They had bbq beef, pork -n-beans, green salad, a roll and watermelon. It is always very good.
The Senior Center always sells breakfast and lunch on the 24th as a fundraiser. Mom and Dad are involved in that, so I try to help out where needed there. Then we watch the parade through town. The town puts on a fireworks display that night so it is a fun day.
I got to see Billy, Marie, and Dylan for a few minutes twice during the time there. They are excited to be building a home in Monroe this year.
Dad's (Frank) sister and husband, Shirley and Roen were able to come for overnight to join in some of the celebration, too. It was nice to be able to get reacquainted with them.
Roger was able to come home for a SHORT visit and it was good to see him and to be able to visit with him, as well.
I'm not sure if it is because of aging or the changing world or a combination of both, but I have a desire to see them often. Time is so precious. I feel more at peace and relaxed while there. It is nice to be somewhere where I truly feel loved and accepted, not counting any insecurities that creep up into my mind.
So what can go wrong when Altamont actually has temperatures over 100? My swamp cooler pump quits, of course! Let me tell you after a couple of days, my house was HOT!!
