Good news

I had a follow up visit for the mass in my breast that was found 6 months ago.  Good report from the Mammogram/Ultra Sound today.

The mammogram showed no change at all.  I guess the mass they see is about the size of a pinhead.  They never could find anything at all on the Ultra sound.

So far so good.  I go back again in 6 months.

Not a Fun Find

I came home to a cold house.... somehow the pilot light had gone out. I am so thankful to my neighbor and sweet Bishop for coming to my rescue.

It took over 2 hours for the house to warm up before the fans shut off again.

The pilot light and heat went off at my house two more times this week. Special thanks to my neighbor and Bishop, for trying to keep my house warm! The furnace just wasn’t co-operating.
I finally called and had the repairman from Reinhardt Heating come up and fix it! Thank goodness he could come up same day... He replaced the thermacouple. Glad to have heat before the snow starts falling!
I love the sound of the furnace fan blowing. It is a pleasant sound to me now.

Last Followup Vision Check

I had my last followup appt at Roosevelt Vision Center today.  I decided that I do want a set of glasses.  These are suppose to transition so that I can read and then look up for distance and NOT have such a difference.   It has been hard using the reading glasses and then trying to do other things.  The glasses have to be take on and off all the time.  I hope these glasses will do the trick.

If the prophet thinks that the vaccination is a good thing, that is a good sign.

Big Rock Candy Mountain

Went on a drive yesterday and saw “The Big Rock Candy Mountain” ...fun!

I remember as a kid we used to beg my dad to take us here whenever we traveled near it.

New Year Thoughts

Thoughts from Jefferu R. Holland December 31, 2015

The start of a new year is the traditional time to take stock of our lives and see where we are going, measured against the backdrop of where we have been. Several years ago at BYU, I shared my thoughts on the scriptural story of Lot’s wife (http://bit.ly/1HWKn4z).
Often, like Lot’s wife, we long to return to past days. I have come to the conclusion that Lot’s wife did not just look back; she looked back longingly. In short, her attachment to the past outweighed her confidence in the future. That, apparently, was at least part of her sin.
So, as a new year starts and we try to benefit from a proper view of what has gone before, I plead with you not to dwell on days now gone, nor to yearn vainly for yesterdays, however good those yesterdays may have been. The past is to be learned from but not lived in.
To all such of every generation, I call out, “Remember Lot’s wife.” Faith is for the future. Faith builds on the past but never longs to stay there. Faith trusts that God has great things in store for each of us and that Christ truly is the “high priest of good things to come.”
Keep your eyes on your dreams, however distant and far away. Live to see the miracles of repentance and forgiveness, of trust and divine love that will transform your life today, tomorrow, and forever. That is a New Year’s resolution I ask you to keep this new year.
