Here I am ready to go watch the AES students parade down Main Street in their Halloween costumes.
This blog shows a bit of life in my world. It is a place to put down my thoughts and feelings and communicate with family and/or friends. If you stop by, leave a message so I know you were here!
Here I am ready to go watch the AES students parade down Main Street in their Halloween costumes.
Thanks so much to my Ministering Elder and Ministering Sister for these delicious Halloween treats. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you! Dave and Kathie Jessup
I have this plant outside my house. I just learned that it is called a Burning Bush. I do think it is pretty this time of year when it turns red.
Oh, how sweet!!! My ministering partner from church stopped by and gave me this cute Halloween bucket with treats! Thanks so much, Sally Miles!
Driving back to Altamont this afternoon from Duchesne, you could see the smoke pour out from behind the mountain. (I pulled over to snap this shot.)
Those aren’t storm clouds in the sky - smoke from the nearby fire. This is looking out from my front yard.
Special thanks to my brother, Frank, for surprising me with this yummy Halloween gift! It is so cute!!!!! Thanks so very much. That was such a kind thing to do.
Yesterday I had a consultation with Dr. Anderson from the Utah Eye Center about having cataract surgery. They put me on a machine that takes precise measurements of my eyes. Then they put drops in my eyes to dilate them. She told me that it would burn and it certainly did! Owww - as time passed I couldn't believe how blurry my vision became. It was certainly a good thing that Beth took me so I didn't have to drive. There is NO way that I could have gotten behind the wheel in a vehicle.
My surgeries are scheduled. I will try to come back and write a little more about this later.
It is election time again. We vote by mail here in Utah.
The presidential election has been a nasty fight. The nation is definitely divided. I just hate to see the intense arguing on who should be president. I hate that so many people cannot other look the person to respect the office at all. To me, you support the person who has been elected and work to make changes if you aren't happy. The name calling, etc. doesn't make things any better.
My ministering elder came over last night with Val Oman to give me another blessing prior to my going in for the cataract consultation and then the upcoming surgeries. He again blessed me that I will know that it is not a dangerous surgery and find comfort in that. He blessed that those working with me will know the right things to do and that all will be well.
Dave came over this morning and blew out the water in my irrigation system to make sure it is ready for winter. The outside back yard faucett had worked itself loose so he also redid it so that hopefully it won't leak next summer.
I was able to turn the water off and prepare the swamp cooler for winter, as well!
Look what a dear friend sent me yesterday! i am so excited to be able to use these to decorate with throughout this upcoming year! Thank you so very much.
