Birthday dress

Here is the birthday dress that I bought myself.  This is when I got home from church.

Birthday gifts

I came home to find that Billy & Marie and family had sent me this box of chocolates for my birthday. Yum!

Terri Mitchell sent me this dress!

While at Dimicks, they gave me this beautiful cut glass vase.  It had been Grandma Ralph's.
What a beautiful, special gift.

My Friend

I had the opportunity to stop in Lehi to see my friend,  Sandra Swasey, today! It has been a very long time since we have been together. I have never been to this Assisted Living home where she now is.
I love this sweet woman and I do miss her in my daily life.
It was wonderful to see her and talk with her.
I got to see her beautiful daughter, Tiffany, as well.
I did give her greetings from those of you that asked me to. She was thrilled, asked about you all and sends back her love!
I feel that this family has had so many big trials in their life and it makes you wonder.  They are strong and such wonderful people... maybe the trials make them even better.  I feel that they have paved their road to heaven through what they have already faced here on earth.  I wish them nothing but the best.

Visit with Family in Monroe

It was so good to be away for awhile recently. I love being in a home where I feel unconditional love and support. It is nice to be with people who accept you for who you are, with little or no judgement. If they think there is something I need to consider and think about, they will let me know that.

Living alone is fine for me and I don't feel like I am missing out or really lonely. However, after spending time with others  it sometimes gets difficult to say good-bye and go back to my normal life. Again, I would advise people to cherish your time with family. Those times can be some of your best memories.

Thanks to Dad & Mom for celebrating my birthday, Easter and just regular days with me.

I was thrilled to see Billy and Marie Hansen for a visit, too! Love you all!

Advice for all

Word of Advice: If you are going to take a small trip this time of year, check your car air conditioner before you go. It gets a bit warm when it isn't working.
It almost reminded me of when I was a little girl and cars didn't have air conditioning. Living in Arizona at the time, made that terrible!

I had an oil change and had the tires checked, but didn't even think about the air conditioner because it hadn't been hot enough to use it@

Coming Home

It was a beautiful day to return to Altamont.
I was gone about 10 days and it felt good to be nearing home.

It is much greener than when I left and I even have tulips growing.

But, oh my, the WIND IS BLOWING!

Flag flying

Dimicks have a flag flying in front of the house in Monroe.  It is absolutely beautiful!
Dad wired it so that a light is on it at night! That is gorgeous!

Sleep Disorder?

Just as expected, I heard back about my oxygen test.  Apparently my readings were lower than 90% for 50% of the time I was sleeping.  They want me to go to the sleep lab to see if they can determine what is happening and what my options will be.
I have to admit, I am quite nervous about this.
It has been a very long time since I have been able to sleep through a night without awakening.  Maybe this will help me.

The Country Bunny and the Little Gold Shoes

I love this picture book.  It is my favorite secular story for Easter.  I would almost always read it to my classes at school every year.
Years ago, I was given a decorated egg from someone.  I had saved it so I could show the students after reading the story.  It made everything so special.  When I cleaned everything out to move upon retirement, it broke my heart to throw that egg away.  It was just not in good shape anymore.
I was thrilled when a local woman was making and selling these eggs.  I promptly bought one to display with my book.

Spring Break

After being penned up all winter, I decided I wanted to take a trip to Monroe. to visit with family members. The travel day was beautiful.

I just love to be home.  I feel so loved and relaxed whenever I am there. I feel accepted and it is just pleasant to be there.

Billy and Marie came down for a couple of hours on Friday and it was so good to be with Marie during that time.  She is a special sister.

Friday was my birthday so they took me out to dinner.  We went to a place called the Sagebrush Grill.  I had Chicken fried steak.  That is my favorite dinner to order at a restaurant.  It was huge and very tasty.

Frank Snapp, Sr:
Well, almost missed it but still have 20 minutes so... Happy Birthday. Your present is still sitting here on the table but it's the thought that counts? Things have been hectic. I was held hostage today waiting for delivery of a new bed. Ordered it 6 weeks ago on Amazon. The first one had a stripped screw critical to assembly so had to be sent back. Second one, after several delays, was "lost in transit." Third times a charm, hopefully. No other news. Hope you had a great day. The weather here was spectacular. After the bed was delivered I put the top down on the LTD and cruised for about hour and half. Okay, so I'm down to 10 minutes now. Stay safe.

Trina Farnsworth: Happy be-lated birthday Carol!

Kathie Weeks Jessup: I am rarebit sure hope you had a wonderful Birthday, You deserve the best.

Oximeter

Overnight home oximetry is a test to monitor and record the level of oxygen in your blood as you sleep through the night at home.  With this test, an oxygen sensor is clipped to your finger and connected to a machine called an oximeter.

There is nothing painful, but it just bothered me and I took a long time to relax and get to sleep.

Replacement key

I have lost a set of keys.  It is driving me crazy because I have checked everywhere that I think it should be.  I wanted to have a second set so that when I have misplaced a set, I always have another on hand so I can get where I need to be.
Stewarts Grocery Store in Roosevelt sell the keys and fobs at a lower cost than dealers will sell you the same thing.
Here are my new keys!

Update:  April 27th
I found my lost keys. There was a small hole in one of the zippered sections of my purse and the keys had fallen through and were in the lining of the purse. No wonder I didn’t find them in any of the usual places. I had even dumped my purse twice looking for those keys!

Today was Lawana Oman's funeral.
I asked if I could work at the funeral dinner.
This is what I looked like when I made it home.

Activity Day for April

At our Activity today, we talked about Easter.  We pulled items from a basket and learned what they had to do with the first Easter and with Christ.

When we finished talking about the first Easter, we made two Spring art projects.  One was a little Easter chick and the other was a little spring animal.
