New Glasses

Here are my new glasses:

I immediately could see better when putting these on.  I think the prescription is more accurate than those I got last year or they are aligned to my eye better.

I never felt comfortable in the last pair.  They didn't seem to be aligned correctly and I did feel eye strain, especially doing alot of computer work or night driving.  Night driving seemed like I was lookin out of the bifocal part of the classes and I had to keep tilting my head to try to find a comfortable clear view so that I could drive.

I haven't driven at night yet, but everything else just feels better with them!

I did it! I now have an ipad.

Well, I didn't win the ipad at Rural Schools Conference, so I came home and bought one.  It arrived Monday!  What a exciting time to open up the box and find this!

Ironically, it is the first computer product that I have actually purchased.  I have always just used the ones at school.  I did get a laptop to use and I LOVED having it.

I have been checking with others to find out the apps that they think are 'MUST HAVES.'  It is fun to hear what other people think!

The ipad is so portable.  It amazing me.  I think that it will be great !

Harry Potter

Beth, Mandy, Mary, Meg, Cassy and I went to see the final Harry Potter movie last night.  I enjoyed the movie. The story of Harry Potter has been a part of our lives for many years now, either through the books or the movies.

In fact, one of the things that I liked was seeing the actors grow up and change, as Harry and his friends grew and changed.  Watching them evolve in their onscreen relationships was found.

There were some very funny lines in this movie, as well.  We all literally laughed out loud!  That made it fun.

All in all, I enjoyed the movie.  Mandy and Cassy were not as pleased.  They didn't like how much the movie deviated from the book.  That didn't bother me as more anymore.  I saw that happen years ago in the earlier stories, and so just decided to go to the show realizing that it is really a story of its own.

Regardless, it is the end of an era.  May Harry, Hermoine, and Ron live on in peace and friendship!

The Second Time Around

Waiting for the parade to return:

I love a parade,the tramping of feet,
I love every beat I hear of a drum.
I love a parade, when I hear a band
I just want to stand and cheer as they come.
That rat-a tat-tat, the blare of a horn.
That rat-a tat-tat, a bright uniform;
The sight of a drill will give me a thrill,
I thrill at the skill of everything military.
I love a parade, a handful of vets,
A line of cadets or any brigade,
For I love a parade.
