Lost Voicemail of Man's Dead Wife Restored by Phone Company
Wednesday, March 19, 2008
Associated Press
IRVINGTON, N.Y. — An 80-year-old man who thought he'd lost the only recording of his dead wife's voice can hear her again, any time he wants. When Verizon upgraded Charles Whiting's telephone service, his wife's voice, saying, "Catherine Whiting," disappeared from his voicemail system.
She had died in 2005 and Whiting said he listened to her voice every day for comfort. He blamed Verizon for the loss, saying, "Now they took her voice away."
But Verizon had archived all the old greetings and messages. Company spokesman John Bonomo said Tuesday that a contractor found the recording and restored it to the new voicemail system.
"I'm glad they rescued it," Whiting said. "I'm very happy."

Male Student: "What about female patients?"
Female Student (From The Back Of The Room): "Multiply both by five!"

makes you want to keep a leopard cub, a wild hog... or a donkey (eeyore!)
another funny article is the 30 error messages you never want to see. I thought the #2 one from Pulp fiction was particularly hilarious!:)

Happy Good Friday and Happy Easter everyone!
Went for GCCC Worship and Prayer night and it gave me a lot of things to think about.
Just thought I'd share with you a passage that I turned to during the evening:
Righteousness Through Faith
21But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement,[a] through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
27Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of observing the law? No, but on that of faith. 28For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law. 29Is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too, 30since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith. 31Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.
Rejoice my friends, for we have been made right in Jesus' sacrifice, clothed in righteousness before our God.
Pray boldly and sincerely and don't ever hold back from God. He loved us even when we were in sin and not in the right with him.
Our provider, our peace, our shepherd.
