Merry Christmas!

My mother-in- law' s christmas decoration - made my different kind of members of the family.

Margit's Goulash

I just love to make the Goulash in my Le Creuset heart pot.

Margit's Goulash

4 people

800 g beef pieces or cubes
3-4 Tbsp. edelsüss paprika
3-4 onions
2 Tbsp. butter
Approximately 300 g field mushrooms
5-6 thick slices of salted bacon
2 Tbsp. tomato paste
½ cup red wine
1 / 4 liter cream around. 38%
1 / 4 liter cream around. 13%
6 pcs carrots
Salt and pepper

The meat is cut into strips about the size of a half a finger Powder in the paprika.

3-4 onions, chopped and handled in the butter in a black wrought iron pot or the like.When onions are clear, gather them and put them aside.

Bacon, cut into small strips fried in the pan until golden but not crisp. They picked up and set aside.

Mushrooms are cleaned and cut into 4-6 pieces and fry in a separate pan in some butter. Put them also to side.

In the fat remaining in the pan, brown the meat strips over a brisk fire. If there is not enough fat, do add a little oil.
But beware - paprika easily burns, remember to stir.

When the meat starts to get a little tight in texture, add a the few tablespoons of concentrated tomato paste and brown the meat in it. Add red wine and cook over low heat.
The cream is poured in. Let it boil slightly in which we add the onions, bacon, carrots and the roasted mushrooms.

And then just warm you stew quickly, season with salt and pepper and served piping hot - Side dish: rice or homemade mashed potatoes.

Goulash can also be made without the side dish - but I will add potato pieces into the pan - approx. 6 large potatoes, diced - added at the same time as the carrots.

Crochet Hearts

The hearts are simple to make and you only use basic crochet stitches. You can make them in 3 minutes start to finish- when you get the hang of it.

Getting Ideas

Straw Butterfly (Post nr. 50!)

Wauuu.. Time fliesby, my post nr. 50! - it's great.

This is a little nice thing - its super simple and fun. I have made a little free "step by step" to everyone passing by - so I hope all of you will make a lot of beautiful butterflies.

Sarah's Garden

My friend Sarah has got a wonderful garden - Flowers everywhere, it's great. I don't have a garden myself - only an apartment close to Copenhagen :) So I enjoy the time in Sarah's garden a lot

The summer is here :)

I bought this dress from a secondhand store – and went in and changed it.

Then I closed it in the front and sewed on a line of “fake” buttons. Made a new zipper in the back and made a more round shape around the neck. Finally I made it more narrow in the sides .. it was humongousJ

(I promise that I will have a before and after picture next time)

But it was easy – so go out and do it – there are so many lovely retro dresses out there just waiting to be changed and worn.

New Muffins and a Sross Stitch update

There is always time to make a few muffins - and serve them on my new favorit serving plate :)



I did not have any yellow cotton for my stitch project - so I biked down to one of favorit secondhand stores in town. Here I found a whole pile of great stitch yarn. And in the pile there was a little note from the previous owner, saying:

"Note: Part the yarn, and it's sewn with 2 threads."
I just love that :)

Cross Stitch Project and Flowers

I have just started a little cross stitch project - the first one in years - starring one of my favourit arcade game characters.
Hopefully I will have an update soon. The weather kept me inside, most of the day - but I still feel great and creative :)

French Toast

I just love French Toast - and it's so easy to make - You just need, day-old stale bread, milk and eggs. And syrup.. mmmmmmmm

Ingredients For French Toast

• 6 slices bread, 1 cm (0,4 inch) thick
• 3 eggs
• 2,5 dl milk (1 cups milk)
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• (Powdered sugar)
• (Syrup)

Instructions

1. Beat the eggs in a bowl. Add the milk and salt.
2. Dip slices of bread into this mixture - let them soak it all and sauté in a little butter, turning once, until lightly browned on both sides.
3. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve hot - syrup on the side

Panda Cupcakes / Panda Muffins - Last Day Of Work

I made these muffins for my coworkers - It was my last official day. And I have been working on a Panda project - so I thought Panda muffins was a great choice :)

It's Chololade muffins with powder sugar on top - I just made a simple pandaface 'stencil' model out of cardboard - and sprinckled the sugar on top - super easy and fun to do.

I found this old lovely bear in a bag with plastic junk (at a flea market of course). Nice thick fabrick and filled with hay. Unfortunately They were not officially open - But I did give him a new place to sit - with a better chance of a new home :)

Flowers and Flea Market

I found this old and wonderful Mary Poppins record - I found a copy earlier, but did not buy it. And now I got a great and well kept version. I just love the drawing - The goal is to find a fitting frame for it.

A Chanel Suit - hopefully

I have wished for a 50´s, 60's lady suit/ Chanel suit for so long. And I have been in so many secondhand stores - just with a small hope that someone handed in a retro suit in my size. So now I have a big project ahead - I was lucky enough to get a hold on a great patteren - and I just bought the fabric. Wish me luck :)
