Outlets and Hedges and Graduation... And Beards (or the lack thereof)

So we got the 240 outlet installed! It wasn't bad at all, the hardest part was figuring out how to do the conduit (PVC pipes holding the wires). I believe because it's in the basement it has to be in conduit to meet code. I called the city and they said we didn't need a permit to do it ourselves! yay for that. We will need permits to replace the windows and to do any plumbing/gas rerouting that we'd need to do if we rearrange the kitchen or put in a bathroom.

As you can see from this last picture we (I guess it wasn't we)... Weston shaved his beard off again!!! Yay! I'm glad he grew it out (I kind of pushed him to...) but I'm very glad it's gone again.
Yesterday and this morning we did yard work. I like doing yard work so far. It's nice mentally relaxing mildly physical labor. We got to use our new push mower for the first time and it worked just fine! This morning Weston pulled out huge weeds from the hedges in our front yard and it looks soooooo sooo much better!!! (The big weed on the right side was removed as well). These pics were taken in the middle of our effort today. We don't have clippers yet so we trimmed the hedges with our cutco scissors... which worked but... it's hard to trim large spaces with small scissors. And last... but definitely not least (for me) I recieved some other exciting, confidence building news today. I was asked to speak at the college convocation for graduation! That was a surprise!! It definitely made me feel somewhat good about myself though that someone recommended me to represent the NDFS department at graduation. We're not sure that there's any way we can possibly make it back... but we'd like to. I told her that I'd call her back soon and let her know if I can or not. I'm guessing that it'll be too expensive for us to fly back to give a 4 min. talk. But it was an honor to be chosen anyway I guess.

Well, thanks for you comments on my last post. I'll definitely invite you when we go private, whenever that happens. It's kind of one of those things that gets put on the backburner.

Cheers.

P.S. I know it looks like Weston wrote this, but I did. Me. Maria. Not Weston. (except, Weston wrote this. Which is rather confusing when you think about it)

Ok, so it's been awhile.

Sorry about the long delay!  We still don't have pictures, we'll take a bunch this week, I promise.  The delay is because the screen on our camera broke so it's kind of a hassle to take pictures now because it's hard to take good pictures when you can't see what you're taking it of!

But we're here in Toledo and our house is livable (everything's working plus we've put in place all the essentials) and we're trying to get invovled in the ward.  Weston already taught a class at youth conference this last weekend and he's going out with the missionaries on Wednesday so he's gotten things to do.  It's a little harder for me to get involved because it seems all the RS activities are centered around play groups and stuff but I'm trying and we've already done some things with some people that we hope like having us around so we're hopeful!

I'm thinking that now we've moved we'll switch over our blog to be private, so if you read this and would like to be included leave a comment or email me to let me know you'd like an invite.

Update coming soon!
