Happy 2010 everybody!
This is my first posting on this blog for 2010. So many things has gone through in 2009 and my high points of that year is obviously the birth of my first painting book. Thank you so much to all my students and customers who has bought the book and I promised there will be more to come.....we shall wait and see.
In case you have not noticed, I was in the Dec 2009/Jan 2010 issues of Majalah Keluarga as well as Seni Hias magazines. Also in the planning stage in the very near future is a book with a compilation of all the DIY articles that I have appeared in all of the Karangkraf magazines (Majalah Keluarga, Nona, Impiana, Dapur, Nur, and Rasa) eversince 2002 till now.
Also I will be involved in the Environmental Carnival at HUKM this Jan 9th 2010 and most probably the Karangkraf Carnival which is on the 29th of Jan. 2010.

Three Birdhouses
A new design of a series of birdhouses was done for a customer. I painted Roses and laces st its motif...a mixed between the english elegance and country colours. Originally the customer was quite skeptical about the concept but finally it turns out quite alright ...well at least the customer is satisfied. Although it looks quite straightfor ward but coming out with the approach was a bit tough

Enamel painting using Acrylic Paint
Enamel Painting
A student painting hydrangea on an enamel item using the Decoart Ultragloss Enamel Paint. Its the easiest to paint on smooth surface like enamel, tin, glass, candle, etc. You don't need to use a medium to mixed with acrylic paint or varnished when its finished. Just let it dry for 15 minutes and you can washed it after that. To make it last longer baked the item if possible.

Making new acquaintance
Sometimes when you come to learn painting you will make new friends with people who have the same passion as you do. Its not only learning painting but exchanging ideas and sometimes updating each other with the latest gossip in town....hehehe.
But most importantly you are able to expand the circles of friends that you have.

A book in the making
Recently I was given the opportunity to write a book on painting in Malay language. Working together with the publisher was a great experience. The team was quite young but they have the energy and creativity that is something to be proud about. Thus my book came out with an excellent outlook. Thanks to the editor, photographer, graphic artist and their manager for making it happen.

Bhaju Boutique
I was given the opportunity to paint the signage for a Boutique "Bhaju". It was quite an interesting project to do where the concept is to have a rustic english look - roses and soft colours. This signage is for the Subang Parade Outlet.
Also did the drawers for the cabinet for the Amcorp mall Outlet and drawers for the Ampang point outlet.
